Self Serving Apology
Of course, he's mostly sorry he got caught:
- In a statement read by his attorney, convicted former Gov. George Ryan this afternoon said he felt guilty and offered a "truly heartfelt apology to the people of Illinois."
"I want to make things right in my heart with God, with my family and with those that I have hurt," said the statement, which was read by former Gov. Jim Thompson at a news conference held at Thompson's Chicago law offices.
There's that "god" thing again. Blago and Ryan both imploring the Almighty to forgive them for assorted sins of hubris, arrogance and theft among the more egregious transgressions. Anything to be forgiven by Him will no doubt be addressed at the Pearly Gates. In the mean time, Ryan owes The People five-and-a-half more years of road cleaning, license plate making, or whatever it is Federal convicts do nowadays. And Blago's up for at least the same.

His apology came off at the very least self serving and in doing so, I heard the words "occurred on my watch" then I changed the channel and turned my thought to how I can't understand how the fbi or fitzy can't nail the disshevled one? It seems so strange that less people find god in a church then most prisoners in jail. Perhaps if they held themselves to higher standards and blame others less they might avoid the wrath of god altogether?
Jesus' would say it is better to be poor then wealthy. I agree... it is better to be poor, free and happy then it is to be unhealthy in a unfriendly jail.

Do those babies, mamas and grandmas and grandpas, etc still all gather at places like the s/w corner of 87th or 79th and the Dan Ryan Exp waiting for the bus's to take them to various's prison's & visit all their loved one's? Hundreds would gather there a few days per wk mostly sundays, when I always got called by some concerned shopper. I'd stay til' they all got off. A lot of sad stories. Sadder than Ryan's
