Cook County Judge Vincent Gaughan today set an April 30 trial date for alleged Brown's Chicken killer James Degorski.
Degorksi, along with Juan Luna, allegedly killed seven people at a Palatine Brown's Chicken in 1993.
[...] Earlier this year, the Illinois appellate court held that a jury should be allowed to see Degorski's alleged videotaped confession.The four-minute tape shows Degorski admitting his role in the murders, then saying he did not want to talk on camera.
The entire delay was Degorski's lawyers trying to have the video excluded from the trial, saying that their client admitting on tape that he killed seven people makes it virtually impossible for them to present a defense that would fool "even a Cook County jury."

Secondly I would like to address a pattern in the federal civil court room of judge holderman (sp), in the past year two close friends of mine have gone to trial in this mans courtroom. In both instances they were being sued by Loevy (scum) with the usual bullshit accusations. This judges goes out of his way to discredit the police and totally sides with Loevy. Loevy has made a ton of money off many bullshit lawsuits, much of it coming from the same judges room. Be advised the friends I speak of are married with children and are very good police officers who are not going to risk everything for some shitbird. Something really stinks here!!!!!!!I'm sure there are others who have had the same problems with this judge and attorney.

OT SCC I have heard that this years st baldricks event has been officially approved by supt weis. Last year the fire dept made us look silly by raising about 3x as much as we did but their event is much more organized. This is a great event with the proceeds going to research for children with cancer. I am asking that this get posted a couple of times as this occasion gets closer.This years event is scheduled for 6 march 2009 and the police dept has supposedly authorized the use of academy, area 5 and area 2 so coppers from all over the city can get their with minimal aggravation. Hopefully this year we get most coppers to participate

News reports stated that there were two devices on the scene but that one was not live. Just something to think about should any of is get a call that is similar.

I was in Philly for Cubs Phils in 2007. Did the tourist thing and went for cheesesteak at Mario's (I think it was called). A good sammy, but better for me was the fact that the place was so pro police with patches around and plenty of info on the Officer Faulkner's case. This piece of shit Cook deserves the needle. Not in criminal justice and not at the X. Let me explain to you because the good Prof Cleotus Jones has not schooled you in the realities of law. When you fuck up, the Po Po locks you up and charges you. The SA then PROSECUTES YOU based on the evidence provided. The SA doesn't in any way, shape, or form represent you. They represent the collective people of Illinois, who have elected legislators to create laws that will be enforced by the police, and prosecuted by the SA. I know it is tough for a militant mind like yourself to be grounded in the world in which we all have to live in.
