The Tow Totals

  • The snow coincided with the start of the city's overnight winter parking ban on 107 miles of the city's "most vital arterial streets."

As of 7:30 a.m., 165 vehicles had been ticketed, towed and impounded, Smith said. That was up slightly from the 149 handled the same way on the first day of the ban a year ago.

Mayor Shortshanks thanks you for your patronage.

news release-- the city has ordered that all japanese cars will park on the even side of the steet every third thursday of each month and that all american made autos will park on the odd side of the street on the first tuesday of each month. if you have a red car you must park it on the odd side of the street on the first full moon and if you have a black car you must park it in the suburbs as all black cars will be prohibited from parking in the city on holidays. also all police cars who are on lunch must leave their vehicle running with doors open so the piss bums can warm up in between swigs from the 40 oz's. rumor has it that the little emperor has an " always wanted to be the police" complex and will be doing ride alongs with j-fed. rumor has it that they will be patrolling the high crime areas on the north end of 1711's beat. it's hard to soar with eagles when you work with a bunch of turkeys. stay safe and rest easy my fraternal brothers. ==========>--------

Tow drivers are getting desperate. I caught a Jag trying to remove an auto from the owners' lot. Isn't that theft?

Doesn't there have to be more than 2 inches of snow before it is a "Snow Emergency"? (9-64-070) Was there more than 2 inches of snow the other night? King Daly can use his Dick Daly to measure if he is unsure of the amount of accumulation--it should measure that much. WGN reported 1.09" at O'Hare and .076" at Midway. Ah, the Chicago Way.

Dear Civilian -
Please READ the signs. There are TWO types. On one, it says you must not park on the particular street, NO MATTER WHAT, after 3a.m.

On the other, you must move your car only if there's two inches of snow. Concepts to consider... Listen to weather reports. Look up in the sky and note whether big, white flakes are falling and maybe pay attention to the volume of the falling flakes.

This is more about keeping major streets clear during rush hour than it is about bringing out a ruler and measuring the depth of the snow.

Hey Douchebag, great advice about forecasting the weather. You must work in the Mayor's Office. Were the plows even out there for the massive 1 inch of snow? This has nothing to do with clearing the streets for rush hour traffic. It has to do with Daley getting his and screwing the City. And your clueless enough to fall for it!

Concept to consider: When the white flakes of precipitation fall on the ground and lightly dusts the streets, I should not have to worry that my car is going to be "stolen" by the City to generate revenue.

Keep writing your parking tickets, clown.
