- SPRINGFIELD -- A state legislative committee unanimously voted today to recommend the Illinois House impeach Gov. Rod Blagojevich based on allegations that he abused his powers and sold his office to enrich himself.Minutes after the vote, House Speaker Michael Madigan (D-Chicago) predicted the full House would impeach Blagojevich as soon as Friday, the first such action in state history.
Better news:
- A Blagojevich spokesman said the governor would not heed some lawmakers' calls to resign before the full House votes.
Now the fun really begins. Will Blago take the Machine down with him?

In a recent article, Roland Burris busted Daley out saying that Daley offered Burris two other choice positions if he would not run for Mayor.
THAT is exactly what's wrong with Illinois government. It all goes back to that asshole on the fifth floor.
What's the Difference? BLAGO will just be replaced with another Liberal Democ-RAT Low-Life, Thieving Weasel Politician anyway.
Blago is asking for federal protection right now because he knows there's a whole section of the government (local, state and federal) that is about to go down.

On another political front: After 8 weeks of "there is only one president at a time", today, the president elect asked the congress to act immediately to delay implementation of digital TV. I think this helps explain why we elected Mike "I need a paid parking place" Shields to represent us at the pension board. We need leaders like this to help us meet the financial situation we are in.

How about "Junior Senator" Burris changing his previous statement at the Impeachment Hearing to "I had contact with the Governor's Office and expressed interest in the Senator's seat last July or August". Very different than his press conference upon appointment when he stated he only talked with the Governor's people when they called in December to discuss interest.
