Smell the Irony

  • President-elect Barack Obama said Wednesday that reforming massive government entitlement programs — such as Social Security and Medicare — would be "a central part" of his effort to control federal spending. Obama made the pledge but provided few details as he named Nancy Killefer as his administration's chief performance officer, creating a new White House position aimed at eliminating government waste and improving efficiency.
So he creates a new position to eliminate waste? And he picks yet another Clinton apparatchik to fulfill the position that no job description exists for? Ah, change we can believe in.

That's OK. He's probably just getting even with whoever he owes for putting Michelle in her lucrative, no-show spot at the University. And bet the farm that he creates several more spots for people who've bellied-up for him over the years. Same game (Chicago politics), new venue (Washington D.C.).

Now please return to being the ignorant, paranoid slugs that the Mayor wants you to be. That is all.

You're complaining just to complain, SCC.

If this woman saves twice the amount of her salary and perks, she's done more than our current oil baron president did.

Up to now, it's been up to the New York Times to uncover the cost of those gold-plated toilet seats. Maybe this woman, Clinton pal or not, can find a few million bucks worth of waste that can be eliminated.

Or would you rather just keep on keepin' on, business as usual, like the last eight years?

"The Box Chevy Phantom says..."

I've got an entitlement program reform for you right here...

Make the ghetto dogs drug & alcohol test to get anything, link, wic, section8, bus cards or whatever... Fingerprints, buccal swabs... the same silly shit the Police have to put up with.

Talk to some of your really old old folks in the family or on the beat and some of them will tell you about what was called "relief" back towards the tail end of the New Deal era into WW2... You got everything in bulk depending on how big the family was. 20lb sacks of flour, cornmeal, rice, beans, blocks of chesse, powdered milk, eggs & institutional sized canned goods. You want meat? YOU buy it. Sweets? If momma wasn't baking any you weren't gonna get any or get slapped so hard you couldn't taste water for a week because you had the gall to piss a nickle away on candy.

The running dog rev'runs would be up in arms because their congregants will be crying about not being able to eat, sleep, shit, fuck, fight, smoke, drink, get high, cuss, cut, shoot & roll dice all damn day.

Yeah we smell the irony & it reeks... tired of supporting bust-outs with my tax dollars, why can't the tax payer get free/subsidized shit, uhhh reap the real benefit of paying taxes in this forsaken, stopped up shit-pot of a city?

Go bite a rat in the ass shortshanks!

*pours an afterwork double of 127 proof bourbon*

...oh and you too j-fart.

We all know as an ultra liberal this guy is going to throw money at every problem that arises. He will not go down in history as being the president who made the tough decisions and controlled spending. He will attempt to spend his way out of the problems created by spending too much to begin with. The music has to stop at some point and he doesn't want to be the guy without a chair.

The more things change, the more they stay the same. The Clintonians were never known for their transparency.

Be afraid, very afraid.

Everyone keeps saying Obama won this election by a landslide. Winning by 5% more than McCain to me is not a runaway election on his part. There will be no change with Social Security and all the special programs that non citizens in this country enjoy. Baby Boomers social security money is slowly being drained off by the illegal aliens that are here, spending your money and receiving your benefits. WAKE UP. Oh, lets not forget the Mayor and his clown staff that support the "Don't ask, Don't Tell" policy of all those hard working people the mayor talks about, to me they are still illegal and don't belong here.

It's more of Chi-Town smoke & mirrors. It's "Let's pretend we have an Inspecor General, so we can look like we're on top of things when the shit hits the fan."
Danny Kaye is dead, so they went to this broad. Don't look for any trophy heads to be mounted in her
display case. She will strictly be minnow-dipping.

Has any of BO's campaign promises been kept yet? All I've seen so far is that he is changing everything he promised. Withdrawing troops (he's adding), creating jobs (we're losing more and more daily), etc, etc, etc. Bringing in Clinton's old crew....oh yeah, you goona see CHANGE real quick. Twelve days to disaster to begin. I got stuck with Messiah but definitely didn't vote for him!!!!!
stay safe out there

Ahhhh, Senator Roland Burris, Change We Can believe In and Yes We Can.

So now the distinguished Sen. Durbin and Reid are saying that Roland Burris cannot be seated because Jesse White didn't sign the appointment letter?

Do they realize that they have put the hapless Roland Burris, a black man to be sure, innocent in his quest for the black senate seat from Illinois, in the undignified position of going around the state hat in hand looking for a co-signer?

Does he get a Coupe DeVille with that?

Ain't that a bitch? Here's the Trail Blazer himself and he needs a goddam co-signer!

I don't know about toilet seats but I would like to know the cost of generations of welfare (with no attempt to ever get a job), baby sitting checks, link cards being used for 40 oz's's, cigarettes etc, and bogus disabilities. Do you thinks the Obama administration is going to uncover any of this and save taxpayers billions in the process, or will he just dole out more money in BS social programs to people that have never contributed to society in the first place?

First-he's got to go after corporate welfare- WIC helps children that didn't ask to be born and is strictly for nutritional items-you can't buy cigarettes with WIC coupons-there are other programs that are worth saving-there's a lot more money being stolen by the likes of AIG for corporate retreats and pedicures. I don't mind if my money goes to helping a child-I do mind if my money goes to the childish elite of WallStreet. I think if you look at defense spending-you'll see Blackwater getting a good chunk and profiting and our soldiers not getting armor, equpiment or paid enough.

You can buy anything you want with WIC coupons, link cards etc. Just go to almost any store on the west side and pick out whatever you want say 2 cartons of cigs and a case of steel reserve, they'll ring you up for X amount of milk and you got your cigs and beer. Have you ever been to the west side? If you do decide to go you'll meet a plethora of individuals who will tell you they have never and will never even attempt to get a job. In their opinion that's what link cards and disability are for. How much do you suppose it costs to foot the entire bill for hundreds of thousands of peoples entire lives. You don't mind paying for able bodied 20 year olds to sit on the porch selling dope, smoking blunts, and living as irresponsibly as humanly possible? And before you say I don't understand poverty I was raised in a downstate trailer on govt cheese. But instead of holding my hand out and blaming other people my whole life I joined the army and put myself through college before joining the CPD. Almost forgot I've been to Afghanistan. I didn't have any problems with equipment, was paid well, and was always happy for any help blackwater included. If you don't like them then you should join the army and ask to be deployed so we aren't under strength and don't need them.

To the poster that said "He isn't president yet..." Well, you are right. But: he made his own seal and made up those spiffy "The Office of the President Elect" signs. So we figgured he was on the job already, at least doing some dissapointedly unimprtessive preliminary groundwork.

The poster saying we are just continuing to subsidize/create a dependant class is right.

The welfare $$'s are freeing up real cash to be squandered for smokes (legal and otherwise) booze and flamming hot cheetoes. There are no consequences for buying milk with WIC dollars so you can buy a 40 with greenbacks...or you sell the milk to someone else to get the cash to buy some weed... or trade cheese for...well, you get the picture. Or you as a citizen and taxpayer should.

Kudo's to ANON 1/08/2009 08:44:00 PM.

You have excelled in yourliberal use of liberal talking points and phrases:

"...go after corporate welfare"
"...helps children that didn't ask to be born..."
"...a lot more money being stolen by the likes of AIG for corporate retreats and pedicures..."
"I don't mind if my money goes to helping a child..."
"...I do mind if my money goes to the childish elite of WallStreet."
"Blackwater"
"...our soldiers not getting armor, equpiment or paid enough."

All easily refuted, or just class warefare battle cries...and beaten to death, may I add.

Oh, but dammit, YES, WE CAN!!
