New Links

A bunch of people have commented (positively) on the utilities provided by the below links, so we're making them sidebar additions:
  • FiveFrank.com has a bunch of interesting and useful programs available around the site. They also appear to provide support, repair and recovery for your computer needs. Hopefully, they can fix the laptop we use to watch DVD's at...nevermind.
  • ChicagoCop.com appears to be based around the "Field Guide" we picked up at the uniform store a few weeks back. All those cards, cheat sheets and training manuals that were just a bit too unwieldy for the metal report box we carry, are combined into one book.
Open post in the meantime.

So what is the story with the gang teams going to homan or wherever? Just a way of keeping the guys happily assigned until detail season, when it's too late to leave without being dumped? Any info?

Thank you Chicago Cop.com for giving us the resources needed to finally complete an assignment normally, less stressful and organized. I always hated the running around part when we would make an arrest and had to run around to look up certain information (specific charges, complaints etc). Hopefully you have the much needed donations to keep this site open. Best web site I've ever seen for the info we need that the department should have invented years ago!!! Keep up the great work!!!

Again SCC breaks ground in helping the working coppers! Thanks again, here is to a great 2009! Hey SCC don't care who runs the site ever think about running and winning FOP president? And you could "phone a friend" for the other 4 positions why not?

You've put the department's information services section to shame. Ron luberman take notes as to what a working copper needed to do the job.

"best copper resource site"
-raves a chicago copper
"This site is fuckin golden"

I certainly hope that the young copper who put together Chicago Cop.com had the department's blessing in putting his site together. The Superintendent's Office has always closely guarded "its right" to be the only source of information. This site puts to shame anything the dept. has put out but if it was unauthorized, the copper may find himself in a world of hurt just trying to help out. Strongly advise that he removes his name from the site.

The new field guide is a really nice book, but I was really surprised to see who wrote it. When this goof was in 014 he didn't know leg shackles from leg warmers and now he's gone and authored a field guide. I didn't even know he was still on the job. In fact, one time this nut actually had HBT come out for a homeless guy sleeping in a garage. He thought a rock hitting the garage door was a gun shot. At least this shit head found something he's good at; putting other people's work together in a more organized fashion. It's funny to me that a guy that knew nothing about what it takes to be a working cop put this together, but like I said, nice book. I'll keep my old one, thanks.

Hey 08:27:00 PM

Instead of being a jealous fuck, why don't you keep your mouth shut and support a guy that has made a lot of coppers jobs easier. Did you take the time to do something proactive and beneficial for other coppers? Please let us know.

Its funny how you find his book to be and I quote "a really nice book" but yet you say "I'll keep my old one, thanks." It just shows your immaturity and jealousy for a guy you obviously don't like for some reason.

Keep using your old book because it is long outdated and riddled with mistakes, and remember don't use that coppers website either because it just might help you out.

Oh, and I see you've been taking reporting lessons from the media, why don't you state all the facts about that HBT incident. If I recall the HBT incident was a burglary in progress call at a mechanics shop at 2am. How many homeless guys are just hanging out in closed businesses, and for that matter how the hell is a copper suppose to know that the guy inside is homeless and/or harmless. I don't know about you but at 2am and responding to a burglary in progress call I might just think that the guy inside isn’t suppose to be there, but that's just me.

Judging as to how the swarm of coppers on scene also thought that a small hole in the door was from a bullet they too were convinced that shots were fired. Sometimes shit happens and we misinterpret it, it happens get over yourself and get a clue.

Just a side note, isn't it the responsibility of the Sergeant to call HBT out? Maybe you should brush up on your G.O's since you’re such a super cop yourself.

A guy who was on scene for that goofy little incident!
