A 15-year-old Park Ridge girl was shot and critically wounded while leaving a Lawndale party early Saturday on the West Side.
About 2 a.m., the girl and her girlfriends were leaving a house party at 1113 S. Albany Ave. when they saw an altercation outside, police said.
The girls hid in a gangway and a man brandishing a blue, steel semi-automatic handgun approached the girl, showed them the gun and asked, “What now bitches?” The man then fired one shot that struck the girl -- from north suburban Park Ridge -- in the abdomen, police said.
Gee. Fifteen. From Park Ridge. In North Lawndale. At two AM. What could possibly happen?

PR police are getting busier with lots of domestics in new condos when the (female) owner wants her "friend" put out after he stole her credit card, car, jewelry, kicked her ass, and passed her around to his friends.

Don't kid yourself. Go to "Uptown", the area around the Pickwick theater, on a Friday or Saturday night when the weather is nice. Nothing but gangbangers and shitheads from our west side picking up Muffy and Buffy, while Todd and Brad look on because they now feel like they have "street cred" for knowing a few animals who are willing to separate these fools from their cash and girls. Park Ridge PD had to call for help from surrounding burbs on several occasions last year to handle the shit parade.
Park Ridge, Des Plaines, Skokie, Niles...if there is an apartment building, you can bet there will be problems!

A man charged Friday with armed robberies in Hoffman Estates and Schaumburg also is a suspect in a northwest suburban bank holdup, authorities said Friday.
Arrest warrants were issued charging Robert Maday, 38, with five counts of aggravated robbery, police said.
Maday of Elk Grove Village has been in federal custody since Wednesday, authorities said. A Schaumburg officer arrested him at 3:35 p.m. Monday during a traffic stop, authorities said.
Evidence found in the car linked Maday to the robbery earlier Monday of a Harris Bank branch at 1190 N. McHenry Rd., Buffalo Grove, said Ross Rice, a spokesman for the FBI.
Schaumburg police stopped the car for speeding, and an officer noticed a gun, police said. He said officers also found cash and a ski mask.

The PADS thing never came to fruition due to resident revolt, there are no homeless wandering around Edison and Norwood, that would have happened had St Paul been allowed to be PADS. Park Ridge does have drug problems, as every community does, but no thug life, that's on Potter/Golf road in Des Plaines. It was getting more expensive until the housing crash...

She was a white chick - she wasn't from the Park Ridge Youth Campus - and yes, there is a drug/heroin problem at Maine South, the high school she attended. Recently they instituted drug sniffing dogs to randomly screen the school.
My guess as to why she was on the westside at 2 in the morning is that she and her girlfriends were either looking to purchase drugs or at a party using them.
She also isn't the first kid from Park Ridge to get into drug problems. There have been several OD's in recent years. And a community task force was form within the last 3 or 4 years to try to address the problem which blew up largely about 6 years ago. The father of a boy who OD'd took out a full page ad in the neighborhood paper to try to bring attention to the problem.
The demographics of the city is changing and there is a LOT of Eurotrash moving in among the over abundance of attorneys who sue every teacher or cop who scold their little precious.

sorry but most of us have had our compassion "thingys" broken for a long time now. you see, it's an adaptation for seeing the things your average joe/jane citizen could not comprehend in their worst nightmares. On Sunday night, my niece who is about 5'-2" and about 120 pounds left the Best Buy at Village Crossing in Skokie with her new laptop, still in the box. She then relocated to a residence in Glenview, where she was dropping off a school book which she had sold on e-bay. While in the house, (approximately 10 minutes) she and the person purchasing the book heard glass shattering. Upon exiting the house and walking to her car she discovered that her window was broken, laptop and purse were taken and as if that was not enough, her tire had been slashed. Having kept her cel phone in her coat pocket along with the car keys, she phoned 911. When the Glenview PD officer showed up on scene he related to her that this was a common occurance. The shitheads usually stake out the victim outside of Best Buy, and follow them home. When the victim exits the vehicle (usaully a lone female) they get robbed. In my niece's case, they stold the items from her car. This is happening in Glenview, Skokie and other suburbs we once believed where safe places to live and shop. I had my FOP medallion pealed off my vehicle while at the theater, Village 18, which is located at this very mall. When shopping at this mall, please be very vigilant, especially if alone and walking with big items. Additionally, keep that celphone in your coat pocket, not in your purse or back pack like most people tend to do. Also, we don't need to carry every credit card and piece of identification with us at all times. Streamline. One card, one id and insurance info. It makes life easier if you are ever victimized.

The compassion I have is for those who love this girl AND have been trying to teach her some common sense truths about the real world.
Were she to have been paying attention, trusted those who love her, and know much more about reality than she had learned, and respected their wishes, she wouldn't have had to learn the hard way.

"The girl, identified as a sophomore at Maine South High School in Park Ridge, was shot in the abdomen around 2 a.m., Jan. 3, while leaving a house party on the 1100 block of South Albany Avenue in Chicago's Lawndale neighborhood, police said.
"According to police, the teen and an undisclosed number of friends encountered an altercation outside the party and, after hiding in a gangway, were approached by a man with a handgun who fired one shot, striking the Park Ridge girl."

Let's say she's 18 or 19, and lives a block away from the shooting. The same general circumstances of the shooting apply, otherwise.
The one equation in the whole scenario that does not change is some shitstain walking up to them and squeezing the trigger.
The end result would be the same, one female shot.

You can imagine all the theoreticals you want to, but it won't change the fact that were she not in the wrong place, at the wrong time, she wouldn't be in a hospital right now.
And, if you're trying to prove the point that, in a perfect world, there would be no shitheads with guns shooting people, or shitheads with knives, pipes, bats, bottles, fists and feet assaulting people, then, fine, you've made your point.
But I offer the suggestion that the girl's home in Park Ridge is a safer place to be than the ghetto at 2am.

Wipe away yours tears, blow your nose and face the fact that everyone, even 15 year old young ladies from Park Ridge, has to learn to think before they act, to understand the perils of living and, should they choose to want to continue to live, that they must use their fucking brains BEFORE they decide to walk out their front door and expose their fragile bodies to those perils.
As for being 'old', I was 'old' the first time I got jumped in grammar school, and learned, the hard way, that just because I had done nothing to warrant being attacked didn't matter one bit to the group of shitheads who jumped me. The only thing that mattered to them was whether or not I could hit back and how hard.
And as for being 'tired and heartless', lady, you do more harm to those whom you think you're sympathizing with, when you don't hold them accountable for choosing to be in that wrong place, at that wrong time, than anything my expressing my perspectives to them ever could.
Because that's why this girl got hurt, by being where she shouldn't have been, at a time when even the residents of that neighborhood know better than to be carelessly waltzing around the streets with their heads up their asses.

Of course it doesn't matter, if, in fact, you aren't really concerned with the fate of the 15 year old female victim in this case, only with proving your point that it's irrelevant who the victim was and where the victim resided, which, I believe, a substantial portion of my comments show that I agree with you on.
But, where we seem to disagree is that both perspectives are mutually exclusive.
On the one hand, the victim was where she shouldn't have been, at a time when even many of the residents of that neighborhood would tend to not be there, and put herself at greater risk than she would reasonably be, were she to be somewhere else, say, at home, at 2am.
On the other hand, a shithead with a gun can use that gun to shoot someone, anyone, anytime and anywhere.
The one perspective does not negate the other.

Lets see Sgt.MF got into it with the wrong F/1 who knocked her clock. phone call to commander in 12 got her a spot inside upstairs until she pissed off then commander sodini who sent her packing back to 3rd watch where the irish to care of her and put her on a nice foot post, until she went and got herself "hurt" went iod studied for sgt test which i still dont believe she passed on her own and now she is in 3 on midnights. as for the day in question she was drinking from 9 in the morning until 7pm. my favorite memory was when she Pissed all over herself after St. Jude as she sat at Ira's while in her bagpipe costume, had to be picked up and taken to bathroom where some of her best friends from 12 left her sitting on the toilet. HAAAAAAAAA!!!!
