Which Way the Wind Blows

  • Two days before taking his seat in the “millionaire’s club” they call the U.S. Senate, Roland Burris got a royal send-off from the City Council Tuesday and praise for having so much integrity, he “untainted the process.”

A resolution originally crafted to pressure Senate President Harry Reid and Majority Leader Richard Durbin (D-Ill.) to seat Burris turned into a love-fest for the man appointed by disgraced Gov. Blagojevich.

“We all know we got issues with the person [who] appointed him and that the process had been tainted. But when he chose Roland Burris, he untainted the process. He gave integrity back to the process,” said Ald. Anthony Beale (9th).

Bullshit. Blago out-maneuvered, out-thought and out-fought the Illinois Combine. He middled a president-elect and made Washington DC look foolish. Harry Reid, the majority leader in the Senate got called in on the carpet and was told to settle this thing as it's going to make everyone look foolish. The supposedly "united" front the dems were going to present against any Blago appointment evaporated when Blago made his move. Check and Mate.

and now the gorge jefferson look alike is moving on up to another free pension. Next , Blago is going to get away with trying to sell a senate seat because if they really go after him, the whole machine will go down. Ossama stepped in alot of shit here and know he's smearing it all over washington.

I got to give props to hot Rod. Only a true democRAT can think such brilliance. Throw in the race card in the air (Burris) and whatch were it lands. He gets some breathing room to plot his next move. He has now planted the seed in the future jurors of his trial -non whites in particular- that he is an honest man. Sheeple continue to believe this crap.

I suspect Eddie Genson is earning his high priced salary, while making monkies out of the pols.

Personally, I can't wait for the Senate Impeachment Hearings, this will be very good.

I never liked or voted for the "Rodster" but I am really loving what he is doing now.

Blago has the power to bring the whole "Machine" down.

I'm actually enjoying the whole thing. Gotta hand it to Blago on that one---whether he thought it up on his own or with some help, he won the battle. The war, probably not likely, but I'm enjoying watching these idiots all have to eat crow!

Ill democRATs look like FOOLS on the national political front. They call for a special election for the seat of general rham (I'll kick your frickin a$$) Emanuel but not for the senate seat of the anointed 1. Both by the way have an expiration time of 2 years on them

The people that actually run this country, and who continue to STEAL billions of OUR DOLLARS, know that the public is VERY PISSED OFF! So
they said "Hey, before the kids throw a tantrum & tear the place up, give them some cartoons to watch for a while, to keep them busy." So we get Roddygate & the Circus Burris. Blago isn't even a minor leaguer to these guys. He's T-ball.

Only time will tell if we are really in for " real change". Blago's indictment should come down in a month or two and then the negotiations will began. I suspect that Obama, who will now control the US Attorney's office, will not want Blago spilling everything. The deals will be cut and the sentence will be light. Or not? Maybe change is here? NA!!!

I was watching Burris in front of the House Impeachment Committee and heard that it was Sam Adams Jr. who approached him, 'I'll come over, we can't talk on the phone!' Anybody else troubled by the fact that Blago's defense lawyer, whom Blago must owe big dollars already, and not a uninvolved agent of the Gov's office, is brokering the "Deal." Since when does a non-member of government make this offer on behalf of his 'client' who's accused of shopping around to sell the very same seat. Since they're all lawyers they let it pass, of course. I say this makes Sam Adams Jr. a co-conspirator. and that no privileged communication right should attach. That Sam had to make this a clandestine mission speaks volumes over the whole ugly doings. We need an additional slogan on our state flag: "The People be Damned" Fitz. get back in the ring and whip some rope-a-dope on this bunch. Oh, and Roland favors Robert Mugabe, in looks, I think.

1/14/2009 02:05:00 AM

Because, if Obama were to be caught in this illegal activity and it got out and actually ended up with him being removed from office, etc. every single city in this country would burn. There would be social uprising the likes of which have never been seen. Watts riots would be a cakewalk. It'll happen, just a matter of when.

It was previously stated here that in order to qualify for a Senate pension, 'Tombstone' Burris needs to serve for a minimum of five years. This appointment is for only two years, therefore, he would have to be re-elected to another term in order to qualify.

What about the 1.2 million dollar "loan" that Burris received from Telecom USA when he ran for governor...that was never repaid??? Burris was asked about it when he appeared before the impeachment panel. He said that his campaign organization doesn't exist anymore, he has no means to pay the "loan" back and besides, the guy isn't asking for his money back. This is a violation of campaign law. It's theft. And yet, our city council lauds this guy as a paragon of virtue. We are so fucked.

Look up Joseph Stroud (Telecom USA), and you'll find he has contributed millions to burris and (3 hots and a cot) rod. You'll also find legislation that was passed for strouds' companys benefit.
