Two Out of Three Arrested

  • A Berwyn man was arrested Thursday after attempting to carry a loaded weapon onto an aircraft at O'Hare International Airport -- the second such arrest in as many days.

Rodolfo Duarte, 27, of the 6300 block of West 37th Street in Berwyn, was arrested Thursday at O'Hare Airport and charged later the same day with boarding an aircraft with a weapon, according to police News Affairs Officer David Banks.

Jefferson District police indicated that a loaded "homemade" firearm, which has no make or model but has the ability to fire, was found inside his bag. One bullet was in the chamber and another was outside the chamber of the gun when he was arrested Thursday afternoon, district police said.
This is the second incident in under a week. It's also the third incident in about a month, though no one seems interested in the very first incident.

No word from spokesman Banks about how a certain someone was able to avoid public humiliation, embarrassment and arrest after she brought a gun to the security checkpoint in violation of Federal Law and Department policy. Of course, a certain airport Lieutenant and the Burger King can conspire to make the rules applicable to lesser mortals only.

Again true SCC, Hope the reps from both arrestees get a hold of the lt at midway and see why she let her friend get away with what she did? By the way if crumpy went through, and she had a gun what happened to it? was it inventoried? We checked in our system but could not find it! Did crump still have her gun? fWhy no media? Why the double standard? Why is the lt at that airport not removed? Come on Boss this girl has got to go,just another black mark on cpd! Hey boss why is she even at the airport? There is a commander (Who will not touch clout), why is she needed? Would her talents or lack of be better used in a district?

What sworn, who is traveling as a civilian, would go through security with their weapon? It's insane. Leave the weapon at home. Idiots.

I totally agree. We will never be able to stick together come contract negotiations if we treat each other with contempt.

No matter what unit you work in, fast, slow, clouted or not, we are all of us, subject to harm. We all go out there and risk our lives.

Sure, rag about the clouted, I agree, or the desk bunnies, or the cowards, or the true dogs, or the criminals who bring disgrace upon us all.

Bitch about the bad bosses, or the corrupt mayor, or whatever. Don't beat the hell out of each other. We get enough of that every day from everywhere else.

If this lack of commraderie existed in the military, how could they fight the enemy? We should adopt more of that attitude, but instead we sound like a bunch of whiny, spoiled little girls.

Imagine how the public must laugh at how we bash each other.

I know one thing. I am blue. So are all of you. And that, my friends, should be the bottom line.

We can walk the real police through the TSA and give them their weapon back at the gate. We do that all the time.

The airports accomodate other agencies by offering them a place to park.

O.T.
Drinking coffee will never be the same again.

A Far South Side man was being held in lieu of $375,000 bail this afternoon, charged with charged with sexually assaulting a preteen relative, the Cook County state's attorney's office said.

Juan Valdez, 36, of the 100 block of East 117th Street was charged with one count of predatory criminal sexual assault. He was arrested Monday, Chicago police said.

Eye Chihuahua Jaun was doing little girls, I tink little girls but maybe he was doing boys. Or maybe both.

For shame SCC! Are you advocating locking up police officers? I recall the days when a boss was applauded for taking care of one of our own!
