By the Way...

It's been 13 days without a single expression of support from any member of the Command Staff who promised on video to "have our backs" whenever we acted "reasonably."

That's about 312 hours.

Which is about 305 more hours than it took to clear an Assistant Superintendent of any responsibility she might have had in knowing what was going on in a piece of property she owned.

Maybe someone could call in a little support from south of the border? You know, to alleviate the morale death spiral.

The exempts were to busy looking to take care of even more of their favorites now that J-fed is 3000miles away.
Remember the date of 16 Oct 2009, that could very well be J-feds last day. The Olympic committe makes their decision on 15 Oct as to who get the Oympics.
The problem is which nitwit are they going to anoint to the Superintendant? Guess we'll see...

Their "resonableness" video is such a sad lie it's nearly unbearable to watch! The smart ones learn from history and history shows the brass are liers and out for only self gain. They haven't been there for us in the past and they sure aren't there for us now no matter what BS video they make us watch. If you haven't seen their comedy show yet go to the streaming video's and watch it, it's hilarious! P.S. Thanks for having the back of the poor copper on the bus you snakes!

Does any PO in Chicago really think any of the present command staff will go out on a limb and publicly declare their support for one of us?

Where's the benefit in it for them? We don't have bosses like 20 or more years ago. We have political appointees, suckholes, company men through and through.

Imagine if this PO in the video on the bus had a rental apartment for his daughter. Now imagine also that daughter kept bad company and a search warrant was issued on the property and guns and narcotics were found there and the daughter was PRESENT when this went down.

Ask yourself, who gets arrested? Would the PO be crucified in the media? Would the daughter be charged so the screws can be put to her to testify against the boyfriend and to become a states witness?

You can bet your fucking ass it would happen that way.

Fuck Cuello, fuck Jody Weis. We get no support from those cock suckers, they should get nothing from us.

Give us a fair contract, until them, KMA, they get jack shit from me. I help citizens who need help; the bosses get nothing that even looks like activity they can take to an exempt meeting and Daley gets no revenue producing activity from me.

Fuck these miserable asshole coward bosses.

Last boss to stand up for the working P.O.'s was Maurer with the Fuller Park incident in 009 a few years ago and look what happened to him. Good comment. I suggest just one more thing to make your CPD experience perfect. Learn to comfortably take it in the ass.
Add a dollop of vaseline to the old bung before leaving for work.
Concentrate on relaxing the sphincter while being penetrated.
Try not to moan "Oh, Richie," lest someone think you're enjoying yourself. Do something to take your mind off what's happening, like reviewing general orders in your head. Now, that wasn't too bad, was it? Just 17 more years to go!

Why should they back that officer and show that "they have got your backs???"

JPUD streaming video propoganda has stating "he is behind you if you act reasonably" has convinced several of my slow witted colleagues.
A certain constituent on this department will jump through flaming hoops for JPUD and his bunch of exempt clowns. You know who I am talking about: MSF, TRU, Gang enforcement to name a few.

JPUD to his troops: "We got to go out there and get those gangs, drugs and guns."
JPUD's mindless followers: "Yes sir, we will do whatever you say, even though (1)we have no contract, (2)the city and its citizens think we are shit, (3)JPUD and his civilian FBI buddies running the department have no clue what they are doing, (4) we act even as we are trained to do somebody in the media will still criticize us, (5) if we make JPUD or the mayor even appear to look bad we will immediately be stripped, even though are actions were justified, (7) we are more and more being told by the department how to live our lives while on our own private, personal, non-work hours time, (8) we are subjected to less constitutional protections in our personal lives than the average citizen (namely administrative evidence can be used against us in criminal proceedings), (9) we are forced to live in Shitcago and either send our kids to the worst public school system in the country, CPS, or pay a small fortune to send them to private school, (10) we are constantly subject to civil liability and second guessing by the courts and jurors despite the fact we are performing our job the right way.

But keep going out there officers and locking up the gang members and generating revenue for Richie and JPUD, "They have got your backs...."

Go out there and keep writing movers, DUIs, and locking people up and JPUD and the CCSAO will do you just like this officer: "2nd top DUI cop accused of false arrests."

Nobody can get in trouble for doing nothing. And in these dark days that is the smartest thing you can do.

I love how the video separates "punishment" from "discipline."

Discipline is when you make a mistake. Punishment is when you're borderline criminal.

During Jodi's 14 year-old-scandal press conference, he specifically said that if anyone failed to perform their duty they would be "punished."

Less than a month after making that video.

Everyone is on their own. Be careful.

Makes me wonder, Riccio stood up for his guys after the incident in 16. Days later the inspector was out checking the A&A"s making sure that everyone was present and accounted for. Found out that the guy that does the video's was not an inside person. Ordered by downtown back on the street.

Did the inspector go to any other districts or was this payback because this commander is respected by his troops?

Just curious

Yes, if that incident is also widely reported and viewed in the media and discussed on radio and has a link to on every major and minor media outlet in the City. In those cases, yes, he should respond.

One paragraph will do, a short press release will do, doesn't have to be a balls out press conference with brass arrayed for photo ops. Just a few words.

Think of what a couple of sentences would have meant to knock down goofs with cell phone cameras. They will still video their bullshit but maybe the next time the media doesn't give it such a ride.

cell phone cameras are not going away. you will need to live with that. you will also have to live with more and more cameras everywhere.

a certain amount of education is going to be needed, for both cops and average citizens on the issue of what is and what is not reasonable police conduct. cops have a very permissive view of what level of force is permissible, while average citizens have a very restricted view of what level of force police should use.

as long as there is a huge gap between what conduct cops thinks are OK versus what conduct average citizens thinks are OK,this kind of thing will make the news.

No. The conviction is out of those detectives' control.

They identified the offender and found enough evidence to charge him. They did great police work.

If the citizens in this city sitting on that jury want to let this animal go, so be it. They've let lots of other ones free. That baby's blood will be on their hands.
