"Highly Impressed" by Rio

Gee, don't these people see anything wrong with any Olympic bid city?
  • International Olympics officials finished up their tour of Rio de Janeiro as a potential host of the 2016 Summer Games on Saturday and offered the same sort of high praise they previously heaped on competitors Chicago and Tokyo.

The 13-member International Olympic Committee evaluation commission wrapped up its tightly choreographed tour at a news conference where its chairwoman said the group was "highly impressed" with Rio, its presentations and its government support.

"Everything we saw here so far is positive," said Nawal El Moutawakel, of Morocco.

The Olympics commission visits the fourth finalist city, Madrid, next week.
At some point, shouldn't somebody say, "You know, this part of Chicago really sucked." Or "All those slum murders in Rio disturb us." We guess the bribe money wouldn't flow as fast and furious as it does if they bad mouthed a few of the bid cities.

So far we have the following:
  • Chicago - "Strong"
  • Tokyo - "Professional"
  • Rio - "Highly impressed"
Madrid? We'll go out on a limb here and predict "Bullish," "Distinguished" or "Spanish."

Do you not see that this is all bullshit and black magic? The IOC is no different than the UN or liberals in general. Ever city is a winner, they don't want to hurt any city's feelings, and we're all winners until Obama blesses the final city and roses start sprouting wherever the unicorns leave a pile of shit. We all know the Olympics will come here because the Messiah was elected in a landslide by 53% of America and 99.9% of the rest of the world. Strangely enough, Saddam Hussein usually had over 99% of the vote whenever there was a "referendum" to keep him in power.

There's never been an Olympics held on South American Soil. Perhaps it's their turn? But seeing they already held an Olympics in Communist China, that makes Chicago pretty much a Shoe in.

Smile at everyone, drink their liquor, shake their hand, then screw them.

The IOC are pros. They do this for a living.

As Mayor Daley would say in his derisive tone -- the only tone he possesses -- "Big money. Heh, lots of, heh heh, money here, you know money. There's a lot of money."

Sorry, SCC, but you obviously are lacking in your knowledge of the Olympic language (also known as O-speak).

First off, it is not referred to as "bribe money". They prefer to call it "Olympic encouragement".

Secondly, interpreting the comments from the visiting IOC officials can be tricky. For instance, calling Chicago's bid "Strong" likely means in O-speak, "WOW, this is our kind of city. This 'cuckoo' mayor knows how to play this game and is offering us Olympic encouragement in the millions!"

Tokyo's O-speak evaluation as "Professional" means "these people just blew us away with their presentation and are incredibly prepared to host a memorable Games. They likely would be our final choice, but they're sorely lacking Olympic encouragement".

The O-speak Rio de Janeiro term of "Highly impressed" means, "you know, for a small third world country, your bid was OK, and we REALLY loved your topless beaches, but there is a reason South America has never hosted an Olympic Games. It's because your country's Gross National Product goes either to the drug cartels or the guerilla revolutionaries and not to Olympic encouragement."

Unless Madrid is willing to turn over their... Hmmmm, I don't think they have anything the IOC wants beyond a lot of their Euros, though I've heard the topless beaches on the Spanish Riviera are second to none!

I have a question that maybe you could look up in your "Rules Of The Olympics" book. Once the evaluation of the four finalist cities is completed, and a "winner" is announced, do the three losers get their bribe money back or does the IOC hold it in escrow for the next Olympic bribe, I mean bid ? Is it sort of a nonrefundable deposit ?

I think that insofar as all the principals of all CPS schools are being ordered to get on the Olympic bandwagon and get their employees to get behind the effort that it only makes sense for all of the exempt command staff of the CPD to do the same.

I will suggest this tomorrow to my Commander. I hope this topic will be brought up at roll calls across the city in the coming weeks and all police officers are asked to sign petitions, volunteer for informational efforts and otherwise publicly proclaim their true support of Mayor Daley's Olympic Chicago 2016 effort.

It ought to be real entertaining if nothing else. Most officers are probably in need of some real gut splitting laughter at roll call.

"All those slum murders in Rio disturb us."
---------------------------------

Of all the cities in Olympic contention, Rio makes Chicago look like Nirvana. Rio has an insane murder rate; violence is a way of life in the slums. Rio's slums make our impoverished areas look like the Gold Coast. Name the crime, it happens in Rio. The wealthy do not travel by car in Rio; they travel by helicopter to avoid kidnappings and the resulting ransom demands.

Here is an interesting tidbit from the trib article:

"The IOC also conducts its own surveys to measure public support for each bid, and those results will be released with the evaluations. Results of the Tokyo survey leaked out Saturday to news services, showing only 56 percent support, a sore spot for that bid. The Tokyo bid team's own survey showed about 70 percent support, but even that level lags behind the other three cities."

So what was the IOC findings in Chicago? It's too bad we couldn't get a true indication of how everyday Chicagoans feel about our bid and their fears of being over budget.

It's a bribe contest between Tokyo and the Daleys. I give the edge to the Daleys. Chalkie could go on a murderous rampage everyday til October and it would mean nothing....the IOC pigs will be stuffed with your money from Daley's trough.

All dissent will be crushed by Osama/Holder/Napolitano. They plan on making Lon Horiuchi Head of Security. Remember, you are all now considered "enemies of the state".

This will be the greatest Olympics since Hitler's in 1936.
