All that post negatively about Mike, obviously never worked for him or are just plain jealous of him. He is and always will be a stand up boss. He wouldn't ask you to do anything that he wouldn't do himself. I personally witnessed him refusing to screw over people the department wanted him to screw over. For all you know it could have been your butt he saved. Not going along with the status quo of Jody Weis is what got him demoted, not lack of knowledge or not doing his job. Say what you will but I will take him over a bunch of the exempts we have now anyday. Ask Jody why he was the LAST person to find out Mike had a new job, that says alot about the leadership on this job. You could hear Jody having a hissy fit all thru the building when he found out.

say what you want about mike shields, but one of my guys was in a he said she said domestic. the watch commander at the time was pushing to have him locked up, as was the district commander. Mike was the area 2 d/c and street deputy for the day. After talking to the officers and sgt that were on scene and the "victim", he said no way are we locking this guy up for this bull shit.... Sure its not hard to do the right thing, but a lot of bosses are so afraid of domestics they just say make the arrest, and let the court figure it out. Well Mike was stand up in this case, so think what you want, Good Luck in your new spot.

Not too many bosses would have had the guts to do that. He also wouldn't do the Alderman's bidding in 03, that is why he got dumped, and he was dumped before Weis.

Shortshanks has neutered the Command Brass of the CPD. He got rid of anyone who would even dare to disagree with him. There are few bosses left that know how to police &command to get results.

If he sold out he would have been merit promoted, something that Sheilds did. And responsible for CPS school kids being killed its the fault mostly of the deceastants parents letting there children running out there after midnight.

I have not seen him dump any of the minorities that have numerous sex beefs Weis continues to supprt them even the Burger Queen and her part in the racial discrimination lawsuit in Two, a Whites carreer would have been finished, they continue to promote her.

Since when does being a nice guy qualify you to be promoted by merit? Every time someone makes it merit they take an opportunity away from someone else. I don' t think too many would object if these were decorated street officers ( and I don' t mean gimmie awards as part of their grooming to sell it as if it were legit game) I mean the average cop that goes out and busts their asses who have families and two jobs and can hardly find time to sleep much less study for a test.
Shields could be a great guy, i wouldn't know but I would love to see the activity for these superstars prior to each of their promotions. Its a joke and defending it by saying what a great guy or gal he or she is, is absolutely irrelevent.

This is not correct. The WEISel has, either directly or at the behest of Masters or Peterson, railroaded more careers of blacks than anyone I can recall in recent history (and I'm going back at least 12 years). And just about all of them have been replaced by whites. And not a peep from the media. Business as usual in Shitcago!
