Good... then maybe someone can address this question...

Any word on the clout bitch drunk copper who got caught up acting like a clout bitch drunk copper in a dealing with a cabbie??? I heard it is going to be a clout special sweep job but not before the rags run with it and paint us all out to be drunk assholes YET AGAIN! Only info confirmed is his daddy was a high ranking member of this clout driven department and his god father had even higher rank! ...

By allowing this behavior to go uncheck is not only a smack in the face of every other copper whose ass would certainly be in the ringer for this, but also to the moron drunk clout himself! To let this go makes this clout fuck think he can do anything without any repercussions. Did we not learn A GOD DAMN THING from figuerito??? Maybe, just maybe, had he been forced to deal with his problem before, that fateful night would not have happened. To allow this to go unchecked is a recipe for disaster! NOW IS THE TIME TO STAND UP TO CLOUT!!! GET A GRIP MAN AND STOP BEING SUCH A FUCKING TOOL!!!

St. Jude's is Sunday. Some advice to all attending: no baby stollers, pets, kids on your shoulders, etc., while marching in the parade. It is disrepectful. First, we are suppose to be a semi-military organzation, no kids are allowed in the columns. Second, have you ever try keeping in step behind, or in front, of some baffoon that is pushing a stroller?!!

Let's look good out there for the gold star families. I encourge you all the bring your families too. Just keep them on the sides so they can view us march in honor of our lost officers. Dont make yourself look like the village idiot.

Keep safe, and _od bless.

WHO NEEDS THE PORTABILITY BILL THIS CASE WAS WON MONTHS AGO!!

The Lodge was recently made aware of an Illinois Appellate Court ruling that should prove to be very important to some of our members. The court held that the language of the Pension Code mandates that a Chicago police officer is entitled to credit for the service he rendered as a Cook County sheriff's police officer and correctional officer for the Cook County department of corrections prior to his employment with the Chicago Police Department. The Lodge has instructed its attorneys to research the ruling for applicability to officers that previously worked for Cook County and other agencies. Further updates will be forthcoming here and in the newsletter.

THIS IS THE CASE! WE DIDN'T NEED THE PORTABILITY BILL!! THE PENSION BOARD ATTORNEY TRIED TO GET THE IL SUP COURT TO HEAR THIS CASE AND WAS DENIED! HOW MUCH OF YOUR PENSION MONEY DID KUGLER MAKE FIGHTING THIS CASE? WHY ARE WE JUST HEARING ABOUT THIS NOW? IS IT TOO BAD SO SAD FOR THE COPPERS THAT RETIRED AND DIDN"T BEBEFIT FROM THIS RULING BECAUSE NOBODY TOLD THEM ABOUT THIS RULING?

1st Dist., Rosario v. Retirement Board of Annuity & Benefit Fund of Chicago,No. 1-07-2190 (Mar. 31, 2008) 2nd div.
(SOUTH) Reversed and remanded.
The pension board’s interpretation
of Section 5-214 of the Pension Code is clearly erroneous. Plaintiff, police officer, who worked for the County Sheriff’s office prior to his employment
with the city, is entitled to credit for his prior service.

Somalis arrive in Emporia with tuberculosisBy Mike Shields
Khi News Service

EMPORIA — When hundreds of Somali refugees began showing up to work at the meatpacking plant, nurses Lori Torres and Renee Hively were among the first to get to know the exotic, new arrivals.

"We got notified a day in advance that 70 Somalis were being transferred from a (Tyson Foods) plant in Nebraska," Hively recalled. "That 70 soon grew into 400, seemingly overnight."

(Now) an estimated 750 to 1,000 Somali refugees are living in Emporia, a magnet because of jobs at the Tyson Foods meatpacking plant. Many have latent tuberculosis.http://www.cjonline.com/stories

The Swine flu is insulting to swine so they are searching for a non-insulting name that doesn't denigrate the honorable swine and make people think the swine is associated with a scourge and a pox upon the people and an evil insidious sickness infecting many good and decent citizens.

Henceforth within the confines of the city limits of the municipality of Chicago the illness formerly known as swine flu shall now and forevermore be called the Mayor Daley flu. The swine's proper and honored place in society has been restored and a suitable name has been decided upon.

Watch out you all for the Mayor Daley flu! It will sicken and make weaker and poorer and occasionally kill all it touches.

Beware the Mayor Daley flu!

ROSARIO V. PENSION BOARD RULING:

PER ATTORNEY KUGLER OF THE PENSION BOARD. ONLY FORMER COOK COUNTY CORRECTIONAL OFFICERS, COOK COUNTY DEPUTIES AND COOK COUNTY POLICE OFFICERS WILL BE ALLOWED TO BUY BACK PRIOR SERVICE AT THE REDUCED RATE. ALL OTHER AGENCIES SUCH AS THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, MUNICIPALITIES, FEDERAL AGENCIES AND OTHER DEPARTMENTS WILL BE REQUIRED TO PURCHASE CREDIT FOR OTHER SERVICE UNDER THE CURRENT SB2520 PENSION PORTABILITY BILL WHICH AS YOU ALL KNOW, WILL COST YOU AT LEAST 3 TIMES THE AMOUNT THAT P/O'S WITH COOK COUNTY SERVICE WILL PAYBACK.
COME ON MARK DONOGHUE, (MR. PRESIDENT), AND THE ENTIRE ELECTED FOP OFFICERS, WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO TO HELP THE REST OF US?
HOW ABOUT USING OUR LODGE LAWYERS TO HELP THE REMAINING 1000 + P/O'S WHO ARE BEING PENALIZED FOR HAVING OTHER CREDIT FOR SERVICE WITH DEPARTMENTS OTHER THAN COOK COUNTY?
THE LODGE REPRESENTS ALL MEMBERS, NOT JUST THOSE WHO WORKED FOR COOK COUNTY.
ANY OFFICER WITH PRIOR SERVICE, OTHER THAN COOK COUNTY, SHOULD BE EXTREMELY UPSET AND SHOULD CALL MARK DONOGHUE AT THE LODGE AND PRESS HIM FOR HELP.
JUST DO THE RIGHT THING MARK, INSTEAD OF PUSHING A PENSION BILL THROUGH SPRINGFIELD THAT ULTIMATELY BENEFITS NO ONE.

Kugler IS wrong again!! Just read it!

http://caselaw.lp.findlaw.com/
data2/illinoisstatecases
/app/2008/1072190.pdf

Our reading of the statute differs from that of the Board. While it could be argued that
subparagraph (c) is ambiguous and can be read according to either the plaintiff’s interpretation or
the Board’s, such ambiguity is dispelled, we believe, by the next to the last paragraph of section 5-
214, which appears to draw a distinction between those police officers who have rendered service
prior to the time they became employed as policemen with the city police department and those
who are either “detailed, assigned, or on leave of absence” from the State of Illinois or the federal
government. In other words, we read the phrase “on leave of absence from the department of
police” as modifying “the State of Illinois” or “the federal government,” and that the period of
service rendered by any other policemen, such as plaintiff, who have contributed to the retirement
fund shall be credited to him or her as service for the purposes of the Pension Code.
Therefore, we hold that the clear language of the statute mandates that plaintiff is entitled
to credit for the service he rendered as a Cook County sheriff’s police officer and correctional
officer for the Cook County department of corrections prior to his employment with the city
department of police. Based upon our decision, we need not address plaintiff’s second issue.
Accordingly, the judgment of the circuit court is reversed, and the matter is remanded for
further proceedings consistent with this ruling.
Reversed and remanded.
HALL and KARNEZIS, JJ., concur.

this has been a sore spot for years, but i have talked to numerous gold star families, and none yet have objected to having the kids in line, the consensus is they would love to be able to do that with their fathers, In this case I go with their opinion.
