On Saturday 6/20 there's an all-day block party and fund raiser for our wounded Milwaukee brothers at the scene of the shooting, 2nd and National just south of downtown. Easy access off of I-94.
I'm scheduled off and am bringing some guys up with me. Who knows, maybe Chief Flynn will be there. I'd make the trip just to see what a real chief looks like. If I didn't have seniority here, I'd bring a resume.........

I can't find tubes for my analog TV and the antenna wire is one of those flat ones. Can anyone give me a hand? Maybe mr. masters or his puppet-"master", shortshanks?

The old analog spectrum has already been sold off to private companies for commercial use.
I hope some new channels have been reserved for police etc. The technology we use is antique. Not enough frequencies, with all the demand for new uses, baby monitors, cell phones, wireless crap etc.
Public safety generally comes after commercial interests. Police and fire died on 9/11 because the technology was crap, communications went to shit. Things haven't improved much.
I still have the same Windows 98 computer in my squad car as I did on 11 Sep 2001.

Police sort out battery of nude woman in car

Chicago police are trying to sort out what happened to an unidentified woman who was found battered following a traffic crash on a South Side street, soon after an off-duty police officer reported seeing her nude, hanging from the window of a moving car, police said.
The woman was being treated at Christ Hospital Medical Center in Oak Lawn with serious injuries this morning, following the crash a little before 8 a.m. today, police said. She had not been identified, but police were questioning a possible suspect in her battery, police said.
Officers in the Gresham District first learned of the woman when an off-duty police officer called 911 with a report of a nude woman hanging out of a window of a brown, older-model Chevrolet, said Police News Affairs Officer Robert Gaines.
A few minutes later, at 7:42 a.m., police spotted a car matching that description at 79th Street and Peoria Avenue, Gaines said. When they tried to curb the car, it took off at a high speed, and because officers had no evidence that any felonies had been committed, they abandoned pursuit, Gaines said.
Soon after, police received a report of a crash in the 9600 block of South Halsted Street involving a moving van, Gaines said. When Fire Department personnel arrived on the scene, they found the crash involved the Chevrolet. A woman, who appeared to be the one who had earlier been spotted by the off-duty officer, was lying on the street, Gaines said; she was suffering from injuries from a battery. No other information was available.
The woman was taken to Christ Hospital with serious injuries, although details of those injuries were not immediately available, Gaines said. Two people who had been in the moving van also were taken to Christ Hospital with minor injuries, he said.
Police were questioning a man who is a possible suspect in the battery, Gaines said.
--Maybe the CPD should again review their chase policy and let us be the police.
This woman was probably raped & beaten. Nude & Yelling out the window of a car who is fleeing the police is "Normal". They terminated the chase because there was no signs that a felony was committed ??? Are you fucking stupid?!? WTF!!!!!
7th District last night chase was terminated due to a crash, offending vehicle continued to flee. After the chase was terminated the dispatcher got on and said car was taken in a robbery.
I hope this woman sues because the police failed to protect her.

I put one of those converter boxes on an old TV in a room without cable hook-up. It gave me 48 channels. Some of these stations have five or six different programs broadcasting at the same time.

Invest in a broadband wireless Internet connection for your hand held device or your laptop. You can get most good stuff and watch DVD's too. All at $34 an hour.
