Gang? That's Silly! Just Silly!
Bulls star point guard Derrick Rose apologized Thursday for a photo of him flashing gang signs — a pose he now says was a bad joke.
The photo, which recently surfaced online, shows the Englewood native flashing Gangster Disciples signs and an unidentified man behind him flashing signs of a rival gang. Rose said it was taken during his one year at University of Memphis.
The NBA’s Rookie of the Year said in a statement he is “anti-gang, anti-drug and anti-violence” but used poor judgment.
“Recently, a photo has been circulating on the Internet which appears to depict me flashing a gang sign,” Rose said in his statement. “This photo of me was taken at a party I attended in Memphis while I was in school there, and was meant as a joke…a bad one, I now admit.
“I want to emphatically state, now and forever, that Derrick Rose is anti-gang, anti-drug, and anti-violence. I am not, nor have I ever been, affiliated with any gang and I can’t speak loudly enough against gang violence, and the things that gangs represent.
Our entertainment dollars go elsewhere.

Hey DUMBASS, That "Swimmer" lost out on a multi-million dollar endorsement and the County Sherriff was pursuing criminal charges against Phelps. It was all over the media. As a former Englewood Ranger, and before that a school teacher, I often wondered why these pin heads can memorize all kinds of complicated hand signals and gestures when they can't learn to read, write, or do math. I mean, they can pick out a hand signal in the dark, from 2 blocks away, talking about their momma, but can't read the bond slip telling them when to be in court. Where has society gone wrong?

DIPSHIT I'm talking about on this post, if Rose loses endorsements for this, that is his fault, I don't care one way or another, but I don't remember anyone on this blog calling the "Swimmer" a dope addict, or any thing negative for that matter, just be fair. Happened in 018, Fox has had camera crews setting up on Police trying, and apparently succeeding, to catch police officers doing anything wrong.

I wouldn't feel too smug about the NHL. It may be lilly white, but it's far from pristine. Lots of stories out there of steroid abuse, girlfriend/wife abuse, and problems with abuse of other drugs too. Hockey just started regaining its popularity in the last season.
