Another Useless Judge
Putting a potential cop killer on the street:
- Today at branch 50 Judge Ann O'Donnell truley demonstrated she does not give a fuck about the police. In a case where a female offender pulled and pointed a loaded gun at a police officer. The judge found probable cause, but reduced bail because the family couldn't raise enough to get her out for her graduation. and with the state objecting. The judge thought it was more important to let a potential cop killer go to graduation and reduced the bond. It makes me sick as well as all the officers present. Please get this out to all the readers. This judge has no business being a judge.

Judges basing decisions on weight or circumstance (drop case) rather than by law, thereby putting coppers in the trick bag for arresting an individual for "no probable cause"... Judges abusing their authority on a daily basis and putting personal politics or neighborhood/racial affiliations ahead of the law! I am SICK of it! I urge every copper to start complaining to the bar association when judges like this rule outside the law! The law is the law!!! We need to start sending a message to these judges that misconduct from the bench will be no less tolerated than misconduct on the street! Start complaining! Why this officer didn't shoot to stop the threat, I don't know and I'm not about to second guess him/her cause I wasn't there.
The action by this judge of reducing bond shows that judges are truly out of touch with reality and need to get out of their offices and see what really happens outside of their courtrooms.
How about the Chief Judge in every district require judges to ride-along for 8 hours. That would be an eye opening experience. Not likely but I can always dream...

Everyone hates the police. Men, women and children. I didn't understand it until I was on the job. Whites, blacks, hispanics, asians, all hate the police. Politicians, judges, ASAs hate the police. Store owners, bums, soccer moms hate the police. College students, professors, sporting athletes hate the police. All walks of lifes hate the police, all we got is each other. And here is a story to go along with this rant.
A white female corporate yuppie is on the phone in Dominicks and she says to the person on the line " this fucking cop stopped me for running a red light, it held me up, that fuck, well he didn't ticket me" get it, we give people plays all the time, and she's pissed at the police for her actions.

The problem is not really the judge. The situation should not get that far.
Too many police officers endanger themselves needlessly.
I don't know what the tactical situation was when that woman pointed a gun at the police officer. But when someone points a gun at you, your partner or a citizen, the use of deadly force is justified.
May a few doses of deadly force by a police officer would send a message to the street AH's that that kind of action can be hazardous to their health.
Because they obviously don't fear any kind of court repercussions.
The FOP needs to make a LONG list of all these ASSHATS that are on the bench and come election time have a campaign to get them OFF the bench.

Trying going to Skokie Court sometime where the judges let everyone off. If you live in the burbs like most of these judges then you don't have to worry about these gang-bangers shooting up your block! Skokie Court makes the police officers look guilty of some sort of crime because so many criminals are set free that their families praise the judge "I knew those polices were dirty".

In retrospect it would have been so much better if Judge Lampkin had sent this piece of shit to the penetentiary. Unfortunately she decided differently and now a brave police officer is dead and his family is forced to be without him. It's a great tragedy. I've been in Judge Lampkin's court many times and please believe me when I say she is one of the best judges at 26th St. Her decisions are usually ones that 99% of coppers would agree with. In this matter I know she will not make excuses....and she sincerely regrets he decision, but hindsight is 20/20. God bless this fine officer.

I agree with you 110%. I work in the D unit and it almost next to impossible to get felony charges. I do excellent work and the ASA's from Felony Review want tons of nonsense before they approve charges.

You have to understand that when a criminal stands before a Cook County Judge, the first thing the judge does is look into the audience and count the voters.
This judge (and I use that word with a frown on my face) was a defense attorney in District 3 (Rolling Meadows) for years. She was as liberal as they come and would constantly bash the police. It's no surprise to me that she would pull that kind of crap now.
Interestingly enough, she attempted to run as a full circuit judge several times as a Democrat but could never get elected. She switched teams to Republican last election and won. Go figure...

Should we start a boycott now regarding all the out door activities planned at Grant park this summer? The people should know that this city cannot adequately protect the good from the evil.
No quarterbacking the officers! One officer was hands on when the gun was pulled. Immediate reaction this officer slammed the POS head into a wall knocking her silly. gun dropped. Firing would have put his partner in potential crossfire. These officers I'm sure given an oppourtunity (not putting their partner in danger from their own crossfire) would have this POS family planning her funeral rather than her graduation. Everyone just remember unless you were there never second guess your brother or sister in blue. At the end of the day both these officers went home to their families. Some are not as fortunate. Me personally if I was in their situation I would have done the same thing. This POS is not worth shooting if my partner is in danger of the receiving end of my fire. Great job officers!

The Skokie courthouse is a free for all. Judges make up the law as they go along. Leading the pack in judges with their head up their ass is Judge Hoffenberg. That moron makes up the law as he goes along(disregarding case law and sentencing guidelines) and then quotes an article from the Sun Times as justification for his decision.
Just ask any cop that has ever had a case in Hoffenberg's court, especially a DUI case.

WBBM had an interesting afternoon program re: The two cop killers, sentencing, probation and parole violators. A lot of sentencing and plea bargains had to do with state corrections and state funding. No room or $$ to keep enough people locked away therefore more dangerous criminals on the street.
So she's from the northwest suburbs and her spouse or father has alot of influence there.

Question. Has anyone ever lobbied or requested a system that would review lawsuits prior to being filed against Officers? We the Police, have to call felony review for approval to have an offender charged and the case sent to court.
In the Federal system, any joe shmo can file a suit without their claims being investigated. As we all know, the lawsuits filed against us are usually packed with lies.
It is getting pretty old, when some bozo, who is guilty as sin, walks out of court after some liberal judge throws their case out and then turns around and sues. Not saying that they will win these suits, but having to put you and your family through the motions is ridiculous.

Judge Davey from the Bridgeview courthouse is responsible for letting one of these murderers free on probation after commiting a take over robbery at gun point. Davey is well known for this type of B.S. in fact, an A.S.A. that worked in his courtroom stated that in 18 months he gave probation to 16 seperate offenders convicted of homicide. So the second chance he gave one of the offenders, resulted in the murder of a Chicago Police Officer.

That bow tie guy is another associate judge political appointee. He ran for judge and lost several times and then his clout put him on the bench, the are so afraid that they will lose their spot that the rule the way they are told, they don't care about justice.
Judge James Brown is anther one that comes to mind, close personal friend and neighbor of Richie Daley from Bridgeport, not a very bright individual but guess what he sits as a criminal court judge in cook county. The criminal justice system in this county needs to be revamped.
What needs to happen is if a scumbag commits another felony after getting cuddled by one of these "Im just glad it wasnt me or mine"judges, they should be held accountable. If someone is killed, OFF THE BENCH!!!!!!
I know officers have a hard job, and I'm not one of them. I can't say this judge did the right thing, because it seems like she didn't.
But saying "liberal pussies" are the problem really makes the posts here look bad.
I don't think the system isn't as bad as some suggest. There are good judges out there, and good state's attorneys. But I understand the frustration when something like this happens.
Judges are by and large dirtbags no matter where they preside. They are all political hacks to start with. It's the nature of the beast. To get elected, you have to be a worm in bed with the ruling party. The Outfit and the political class are always in need of a judge to put the fix in for their friends. If you are a competent attorney making large dollars, why would you want to be a corrupt judge?
Those who aspire to the bench generally are just too old, fat or wheezy and cannot catch the ambulance like they did when they first started out as lawyers. Some are probably just too lazy to chase it anymore.

over 100 offenders were released on SOL, because no police or in some cases no victims appeared in court.
SOme of the victims had no excuse for not attending in my opinion. Sullivan High School had 12 offenders and no one to represent the school so the offenders were let off. The CTA also did not send a rep to the court and there were another 7 scumbags that got nothing.
If the city has enough Police Officers according to the Mayor and the Superintendant of Police why were their no officers in the courtroom?

Sometimes situations arise that result in an offender not getting shot. As an officer who has been in shootings I will tell you this. A crowd being near is not an excuse, but if another officer is in that crowd or a child who may happen to get hit by your gunfire is there, well shooting is not always the answer. I wasn't there so I will never second guess an officer's use of deadly force and you shouldn't either. Both officers went home and bad guy(girl) goes to jail. Good job officers!

I've seen what having to shoot an offender does and did to the personal life and mental well-being of many of my friends on the job. 3.So YOU could f#$%ing torment me instead. Once again do not mondaymorning quarterback the officers. I got the storyfrom them and a discharge by either one of them could have resulted in friendly fire. Try living with that! Watched the news and it was good until they interviewed the hypewho had an elaborate story. Read the report(for those who can). It happened in an alley off chicago avenue and not on chicago avenue. Great job officers! Glad to see the media picked up on this. Wishit was done sooner. Stay safe my brothers and sisters.

I wish more people could see what goes on in the courts , especially the misdemeanor courts , hundreds of the same people coming back time after time with no consequences. We're expected to pay parking tickets, red light tickets , etc, but someone can be arrested 200-300 times without really having anything happen. I seem to remember a time when they tried to assess court costs, and everyone stopped coming. Of course that meant they just got held the next time and led to overcrowding, so it seemed to stop.Just imagine if every misdemeanor arrest in the city generated a $50 fine or court cost. Other cities have adopted a policy of virtually no tolerance for crime and after having bit the bullet for a year or two, have seen a change.Once the bad guys know they're all going to jail like the do in other places , they'll slow down or leave for greener pastures.Seems it would make a lot more sense for Chicago to try to keep the working and middle class happy as opposed to the criminals.

The worst thing that ever happened to you guys was CAPS. It demystified the police to the citizens: we saw you as vunerable, we heard about mistakes, we discovered that you might be afraid sometimes, that you do not always have the proper equipment, etc---you get what I mean.

For those of you bashing Judge Lampkin try making a REAL arrest instead of some bullshit drug arrest. She is a very good judge when it comes to real crime. I'm sick and tired sitting in these court rooms waiting for a motion on a murder case while the judges go through 30 bullshit drug cases. I wish they would legalize every fucking drug in the world so we could alleviate this nonsense in court rooms. By the way Judge Lampkin gave sentences of 65 years, 70 years, 80 years, and 85 years on the last four murder cases we had in her court room, sorry she didn't give your .50 grams of heroin guy the chair, you moron.
