The fact that he sold more records might go more to the fact that he had crossover racial appeal. Frank didn't play well in the black community. Also music was more readily available commercially during Jackson's time, simply due to wider distribution and overseas sales. As far as impact on pop music, how about the Beatles. They caused a shift in musical taste unlike anyone before. The year before the Beatles hit it big the top musicians were Perry Como, Pat Boone and some female 50's singers like Patty Page. Great post!! No one on this thread was there yet they feel qualified to vilify this man forgetting that he was acquitted four years ago. They also seem to forget that the parents of the alleged victims didn't contact the police or take their children to a hospital immediately. Instead they reached out to a lawyer in search of a big payday. Unfortunately, Michael Jackson couldn't beat the court of public opinion.
