Dear Officers working 10-99 on 1st & 3rd Watch,
You do NOT have to work 10-99 on 1st or 3rd Watch! All you need to do is to submit a To-From subject report to your D/C through your W/C that states you do not want to work 10-99 on 1st or 3rd Watch.
This request MUST be honored. If not, call FOP immediately! And get your Unit Rep to fight for you, this is a right we won many years ago after previous officers were killed in the line on 3rd and 1st watch while working alone.
There exists a signed letter of agreement between the City of Chicago and the FOP to this effect.
If all PO's, young and old, submitted this to-from report tomorrow, well, I believe it would be the most effective thing police officers could do as a group.
Let's all hope and pray that Lillie Crump is next. She is a complete embarrassment to the department!!

I had the great pleasure of working for Commander Esclante in B&A as a sgt., Lt. and the boos. He is by far the best, most understanding, easy going smart and will listen to any thing that's said. 14th District just got the best boss they ever had.

He did a great job during PR Fest and was out there walking the park even during the rain days. cCommander established a good rapport with officers, citizens,community organizations and elected officials alike. He was the best boss 014 has had in the last 20 years. 014 does not have an issue with morale thanx to his leadership. You will be missed boss.

Now would be as good a time as any to launch Eugene Roy from 009. He's been there way too long and has caused morale to plummet in the district. The department is really fucked up as it is but it's compounded when you have a buffoon like him at the helm of 009. There have been numerous good officers,Sgt.'s,Lt.'s and even Capt.'s that have been fucked over by this guy. His ego is second to none and he seems to become extremely jealous of well liked,competent supervisors. When the jealousy sets in he tends to set his sights on these people and then he'll stop at nothing to try and mess with or dump these people.
This idiot certainly deserves to be demoted not promoted but at this point I'd take any kind of move that got him out of 009.

The problem with this is that it would result in zero time due being granted and also any furlough extension denied due to manpower. The answer is to hire more people and bring back all these people from the made up special units which is not going to happen so we are fucked royally.

No such letter has ever existed so stop serving up bullshit.if you had some years on you would know it was a letter between King Richard I and the police wives assoc. sorry sherlock...i could ve bid to days 5 years ago. i also was putting people in jail when you were in grade school. my only problem with martinez was he kept adding more and more people onto days.these were not bid people. he added people after the watch bids. i ve put in my time and dont have to cry for a spot. do YOU need a kleenex?

17 Car fires and they blamed it on ESCALANTE for not having them solved in a timely manner so they dumped him out of the Bomb & Arson unit to the wolves in the 014th District. Wow!
So now they replace one dumb commander with a dumber one.
Escalente is worthless and if it wasn't for his buddy (Cmdr. E. Odonnel's wife - you know "blinky" whose condo was the subject of a search warrant where they recovered a cache of guns and a kilo of cocaine) he would never had made commander because he's got the IQ of a rock.

Second I NEVER read this blog, but when I heard some idiot(s) were trashing a good mans name, I thought Id chime in.
John Escalante is a good policeman and a better boss and the people in 014 are lucky to have him!
