Tax Hike Fails in House

Yesterday's Senate vote falls flat in the House:
  • SPRINGFIELD -- Democrats in the Illinois House led the rejection tonight of a $4.5 billion plan to boost income taxes by 50 percent for the next two years, with a midnight deadline approaching to fund a new state budget.

The House action came after Democrats decided in a closed-door meeting that they also didn't have the votes for a higher, permanent tax plan passed by the Senate.

The House voted 42-74 for the measure, which required 60 votes for approval to go on to the Senate.

Well, at least we know they aren't completely suicidal. Now, instead of raising taxes, cut spending you idiots. We haven't had a raise in two years and we're cutting spending like there's no tomorrow.

Oh Crap, that leaves room for Shorty Bighead to raise the property taxes before Bug eyed Quinn can re-word his income tax hike bill.

Every incumbent office holder can ensure their reelection by doing one thing: voluntarily take a minimum 50% cut in their salaries (and publicly challenge every elected official, state, county, city, etc., to do the same).

(Never gonna happen.)

Fat Rat Pat Quinn, on WLS this morning, ducking and dodging all the pertinent questions and obviously ill prepared to straighten out Illinois numerous problems, just pushing for more money, more money, more money, to throw out to buy more inner city votes, by handing out more freebies,ie=socialism. What an asshole, bring back Blago..

I think the incumbants should start planning their retirement, tell everyone else how to take it and times are tuff, but then they always raise their salaries and spend like they have an open never ending pot of gold... But change is coming on election day.

Why won't the Democrats in Springfield cut spending? It appears that are following the lead of the Democrats in D.C. and the "Toddler".
We need to pay for our patronage armies who will get out the vote for Lisa.
The hell with the taxpayer.

It is time to vote the rascals out.

Tax Hike legislation & democrat "mutts" hang their buddies out to dry.

6:15pm - 42yeas-74neas-2present. The 2 present votes were Will Davis and David Miller - the two top proponents of the Senate plan.

And another mope......

Rep Karen May seemed to speak in favor of the bill. “We need bridges and roads but we’re leaving people in the ditch” or something close to that. She voted “No.”

Well, well our elected weasels are going to fatten their compensation and wages packages by "having to go into special session" instead of vacation because we don't have a balanced budget in place for Gov Quinn to sign off on so the bills won't get paid and Quinn will refuse to sign off on the stimulus money from our federal taxes to pay for new roads, sewers, bridge work to be done by our fellow union taxpaying citizens because for a short while, our elected officials are pretending to stand with us beleagured taxpayers, and say cut the social programs and freebies for all our enormous amts illegal and old welfare dogs. Balance the budget with what we have and cut the fuzzy extras we can no longer support due to financial collapse of so many big and small businesses. we taxpayers have to circle the wagons before this state drowns in debt like California just did. Wake up working middle class and vote fresh blood in before its' too late, how much more welfare programs can you afford to be taxed for. This state is a political nightmare. Say no to millions of tax dollars to be spent on special session which would end with taxes raised. Demand a balanced budget...and lets get our share of fed stimulus dollars ASAP to generate contruction to rebuild our decayed infrastrucure using only American citizens preferably citizens of our own state sign me taxpayer patriot ready for revolt!

Why is it when we talk about raising taxes and fees, we talk in the neighborhood of 50%, 75%, 100+%, but when we talk raises, the MOST we can ever talk about is 4% ?????
This is why the middle class is doomed....

This state will ALWAYS have a deficit. Those fucks in office couldn't balance on their toes, let alone a budget!! Remember, they don't have to live within their means. Why should they?!! They have us to support ALL their programs for ALL those who voted for them. Because those fucks keep giving them free shit! We (the working class) keep working harder and harder, only to have our taxes raised to give to their programs!! We don't need them or use them, because we are the working fools! Cut the shit fuck holes!! Stop spending our money!! Stop giving our hard earned money to those who don't even try to work for their hand outs!! I'm thinking here.......ah yeah..Montana.
