They aren't even concealing their half-assed efforts anymore. It's all about being anti-police:
- It's two in the morning and while most of Chicago sleeps, the bar and nightclub strips are humming with activity.
Young men and women drinking, hanging out. Looking for a good time. And patrolling the party, Chicago police officers making sure the fun doesn't get out of hand. Which is why we were surprised when we received a series of photos showing on-duty officers flirting with women.
The photos are from a frustrated club worker who says some officers have been slow to respond to his calls and he believes these pictures show why.
So FoxNews admits that these pictures are just from some hacked off club worker who's looking for his pound of flesh because he probably can't handle his job as bouncer. It's an agenda. How the hell is this anything but a hit job at the behest of a private entity.

In the greater scheme of things this is relatively minor. Take the transgressing officers aside and slap their wrists with a wet noodle.

This is what passes for news? My first ten years on the job I did this every chance I could. Not a lot of chances in the hood though. Every so often I use to go to Rush St. to work with the tac team. This is pretty much what I did.
Worked in Traffic on LSD. Spent many afternoons parked at the fountain getting my picture taken with the tourists. Mostly young ladies. I got a drawer full of awards but these are some of my fondest memories.
If this is the worst thing any of these guys ever due then we're all blessed. This reporter should just grow up.

Never mentioned his race. How the fuck do you spend 2 minutes describing an offender and 3 minutes about the attack itself and never mention the offender's race? Are you that much of racists that you are afraid to mention the race of a persoon for fear of getting sued or protested? You should all burn in hell...alll of the would be reporters who couldn't find a story unless Daley let them shove it up their cooter.

The Officers have always been too comfortable on those entertainment details. A little too chummy with the owners and taking care of their best interests.
Rotate the Officers through those details. More professional and less problems for us. The media didn't even come close to the big scandals we have seen with these datails.

Personally, I think it is great to see north side coppers interested in women for a change.
The pictures are from a year ago. One of the girls in the photo put some of the pictures on one of her internet accounts and as it goes someone got jealous and waited to get his 5 minutes of fame, uploaded the pictures and sent them to Fox news.The press then runs with it like it just happened. Then they interview B.C who says some stupid thing like bad judgement.I like to call it community relations, isnt that what CAPS is all about. Even the newsreporter admitted that after sending a crew down to the alleged hot spots, that ALL the officers were working hard to keep the peace and NONE were found engaging in this really petty, nit-picking behavior. I mean C'MON! REALLY? There's nothing wrong with being on duty and having your picture taken with the ladies or other tourists. That being said, having a woman sit on your lap (with your hand on her thigh, no less) in the squad car, fooling around with the cuffs (as pictured) and putting your arms around her waist/hips (as pictured) can all be construed as flirtatious (sexual) in nature. Not much of a story, here, however, just silly boys using extremely poor judgement in some of those photos.
They do a story on this bullshit, even though the nightclub owner wouldn't talk on camera. Unreal!! They must have nothing else worthy to report on.

OT but important. Sadly you would never see this type of support in Chicago but....On June 9th,2009 two Milwaukee Police Officers were shot on the city's south side. The officers were patting a man down when he pulled a gun and began firing. Spokesman says the two officers didn't even have time to draw their weapons. One Officer was shot in the face and leg, the other shot in the chest. The two officers are expected to survive. This is the third Officer shot in Milwaukee since April. Because of this there is a citywide fundraiser entitled "Thank You Milwaukee Police Department". All proceeds going to injured officers. Check the website dedicated to this event www.tympd.com. Make a trip up to this great city, enjoy the block party, and support the MPD.
The don't want to pay us a decent salary let us in work in those bars off duty. No pictures then, it is an archaic illegal rule anyway.

I saw the photos, Looks to me like these officers are doing their part to keep up with Community Policing requirements.

Fine Job by the way, I am sure these nice ladies now have a more positive view of the Chicago Police Dept.
As for the Bar owner that provided the pictures, I can see the need for some extreme Community Policing around his club.
I would start with a premise check every hour. I would card every customer every hour. I would also do the same for the Bars next to his and across the street, just to keep if fair and not single him out. (wink, wink)
I would keep this up for two or three weeks, write up every violation! Make sure the other Bar owners know that this extra Police service was at the request of a certain Bar owner who thought he was being short changed by the CPD.
Make sure you hand out the latest Community Policing Propaganda with every violation. Remember to do it with a smile.
It won't take long before this Bar owner who thinks response times are to slow, will be complaining about the excellent Police service he has attracted. Not to mention all the heat he will be getting from the surrounding Bar owners.
Come on Boys and girls, CAPS works! We just need to learn how to use it to our advantage!!!
Don't forget all the little stuff like reporting sanitation issues to the Health Dept. Citations for improperly secured Dumpsters. Check for locked doors at the rear of the bar. Check to see if the fire extinguishers have been tested and are up to date.
Check the occupancy permit, count heads. 1 head over the permit and this include employees. Well you get my drift.
CAPS works. Lets show the Bar owner he will never again be neglected by the Chicago Police Dept. After all he is a tax payer Lets give him his monies worth.

Years ago, when still at the old 018 on Chicago Avenue, I would see these camera crews and male reporters taking pictures and flirting with the women who came up to them while they were waiting to go live.
What a bunch of assholes at FOX. These reporters and their crews do the same fucking thing, but the only difference is we don't have a television station to show pictures of them.
Absolutely scum reporting. I say fuck these assholes. We have to stop giving them passes when they get caught with their pants down.

Channel 2 spent 5 minutes (literaly) of the newscast to talk about the rape in Irving Park. They described the rapist from head to toe, including the fact that he was driving an Orange "classic car." Never mentioned his race. How the fuck do you spend 2 minutes describing an offender and 3 minutes about the attack itself and never mention the offender's race? Are you that much of racists that you are afraid to mention the race of a persoon for fear of getting sued or protested? I just finished watching the video of “Chicago Cops on Patrol?”

In this report, you stated that you “would think that the Police Department would be all over it, and looking at it as a management issue and something that they have to take seriously.” You can’t be serious, can you?
Then this reporter goes on to say how they “were surprised when they received a series of photo’s, showing on duty Officers flirting with women,” and got “the photo’s from a frustrated club worker.” My favorite one is the picture of a blonde girl sitting on the Policeman’s lap with a big smile on her face, as the reporter interjects some sensationalism into this by saying; “her hands within easy reach of the Officers gun,” as if this woman posed a threat to anybody. I don’t know about anyone else, but she sure doesn’t look too dangerous to me, and the Cop certainly looks like he’s capable of taking care of himself, or anyone else that tried something stupid with him for that matter.

All I can say is, it must be a very “slow news week” for any network to air something devoid of any substance at all, and as trivial and innocent as people getting their pictures taken with some Cops. These are harmless pictures, what’s the big deal? In my opinion it’s good public relations, and from people that by rights, shouldn’t even give anyone the time of day until they get a current contract. I’m fairly certain that all of these pictures were not taken in the past few days, so at least FOX News had the common decency not to stab the Cops in the back until after they buried one of their own a little more than a week ago after being murdered while protecting the citizens of Chicago. That must be their interpretation of “Fair and Balanced” reporting.
Please look up from this letter for a moment, look up at the walls of your office or home. Chances are pretty good that they have pictures of you posing with some kind of public official that for some reason or another you view as special. It might be another Alderman, the Mayor, a Superintendent, a Commissioner or some other “big shot.” Am I right? If you’re anything at all like other politicians I’ve seen, you bask in the attention of the powerful people that are falsely convinced that they are more important, or somehow better than the rest of the citizens of Chicago,….well…….they’re not!
Although many of our politicians consistently demonstrate how low of an opinion they have for the rank and file of the Police and Fire Departments in Chicago, and rarely miss an opportunity to make them look bad to the public, their attempts are futile. I don’t suppose it has ever occurred to those important politicians that perhaps some people want to get their pictures taken with our public servants because in the real world where the rest of us live, people that are capable of thinking for themselves look up to them with admiration. It seems to be a common misconception amongst the politicians in this city that the people of Chicago work for the politicians, when in fact the politicians work for the people! They put you in office to represent them, and they can remove you just as easily during the next election. The voters know who they can depend on and who’s in their corner, and it’s NOT the politicians.
I’m aware of the fact that you did not launch this campaign against these Policemen, which serves no practical purpose other than to portray them in a negative fashion and possibly cost them some money from disciplinary actions and cause unnecessary embarrassment to their families. And at the conclusion of this segment you did mention that every time you have looked, the Police were doing their job, and that’s good, just not good enough. I know you have only been the 32nd Ward Alderman for a little over 2 years, but you have enough experience with politics and should have enough common sense to know when you’re being played for a fool.

You should’ve done more, you should’ve ran this reporter out of your office the moment you looked at those pictures and realized where he was heading with this. You should have directed him to stop wasting your time and to leave the working stiffs alone and go after a real story. If he wants to play “Investigative Reporter” he should be going after the crooked politicians and their cronies that are responsible for fleecing the city pension funds out of millions of dollars. If he wanted to report something newsworthy, Chicago has a lot more than its fair share of crooks and he wouldn’t have to dig too deep to find dirt on these conniving thieves. And he might even earn some credibility by exposing these crooks to the public for what they are.
Besides all of this, no reporter worth his salt should ever conduct any investigation, about anything, from a “frustrated” anybody that doesn’t have the courage or moral fabric to go on the record to back up his allegations. Because he’s probably “frustrated” due to his lack of intelligence, talent or guts that it takes to do these jobs that he’ll never have.

Bar people are not our friends. Eversince the Abate incident many bartenders are going the extra mile to fuck with police to get on camera being beaten or abused. Sad but true. When a bartender at Christina's on Kedzie and Grace found out that we were the police, he started talking trash and baiting one of my buddies. Knowing that the cameras were rolling, we moved on to a friendlier place.
I am not giving bars any courtesy anymore. We have simply become walking dollar signs to many of these people.
i hope this means that our legislators will stop photo ops and keep working---- if quinn wasn't hugging everyone like he just landed on the space shuttle, we would have had a budget in place....

If that wasn't dumb enough he had it published, on the cover of I believe it was "Easy Rider" motorcycle magazine, outside number visible and all. I.A.D. paid a visit to the officer's home with a warrant and found the rest of the pictures. Maybe somebody out there a copy of that magazine.
Then there was the copper who was backstage at the Admiral Theater in 1980’s. So what, he was foot patrol on his Beat.

One of those that was pictured was non other than the merit Sgt. from (018)the recent sgt. class that is still in the academy, Commander Georges neighbor. Glad to see this is what is takes to be a merit selection and not a hard working copper like T.P.

The Officers have always been too comfortable on those entertainment details. A little too chummy with the owners and taking care of their best interests.
Rotate the Officers through those details. More professional and less problems for us. The media didn't even come close to the big scandals we have seen with these datails.

What's the big deal. A few harmless photos. Just looks like a little p-r to me. In my book you Chicago Cops are some of the BEST I've ever encountered. I've been to your city many times and have always been treated great by the coppers I've run into. Keep your heads up fellas. The media is a bunch of a-holes in Detroit too. Hope I get a chance to run into one of you in Detroit and return the kind treatment you've shown me. You guys will always have a friend with DPD.
Reporter Dane Placko showed them to Alderman Scott Waduespack who's ward includes the Weed Street District, where some of the pictures were taken.

I would like to say that I had the privilege of meeting some of Chicago's Finest on a trip to Chicago, and felt honored to take pics of and have pics taken with some of the officers. They were a GREAT bunch! I found them to be loyal, dedicated, and personable, and they all went out of their way to make this hillbilly feel welcome!
With everything of importance going on in the world today that could actually be considered "newsworthy", one would think Fox would be humiliated to air such a lame "news story" !! One has to wonder...What is their goal here and what on earth would compel them to air such a piece of "crap", for lack of a better term, and call it news??
I say leave them alone! With all of the dredges of society they are forced to deal with on a day to day basis, it's nice to see them able to lighten up a have a little fun once in a while.

As I stated before.... they were some of the MOST dedicated, professional, personable people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting.
Unfortunately, there are those who will always attempt to drag everyone else down. Once again.... pettiness and envy rears it's UGLY head.
