Fake Students?
In a City of fake voters, ghost pay rollers, and imaginary minority front firms, is anyone really surprised that the Chicago Public Schools system was (and continues) to use imaginary attendance figures to get a bigger slice of the federal pie?
- Attendance records obtained by the Tribune show that a handful of chronically truant students at Bowen Environmental Studies Team High School on the South Side were rarely marked absent. Instead they were listed as being on "school function" -- such as field trips -- for at least a month at a time. One girl was placed on "school function" for 50 straight school days, according to attendance sheets.
How about the Tribune look into system-wide inflation of attendance numbers, especially on Day One, always an entertaining event where children and families have to be lured to school with promises of free book bags, school supplies, trips and a car, instead of because it's the right thing to do if you want to get an education and a job later in life:
- Research shows that regular attendance is crucial to students' success. Public school districts receive state and federal money based on how many students are in school, so when kids drop out, funding dries up. Chicago's district estimates losing $18 million to $20 million a year in state money because of dropouts and truancy. Student attendance also helps determine staffing levels -- and whether school employees keep their jobs.
Um...we must be extra dense today, but could someone explain how the CPS loses $18 - $20 million a year if they aren't spending it on the kids that don't show up? Shouldn't that be listed as a savings?

Does any of this corruption in this city even surprise anyone anymore? I dont think that there could be scandal in the most corrupt city in the country that a life long resident of Chicago would be surprised by.
I attended a grade school graduation the other day and the President of a city college gave a speech. He told the children they needed to follow 4 rules to graduate high school. 1. Attend everyday, 2. Be on time, 3. Greet the teacher and 4. Smile. I waited for him to say study and do your work but he never said that.
Wait till one of these piece of shit students get jammed up in an arresst. All he or she has to say is I's be in school that day and your case goes right into the toilet, Especially, if the liberal teacher signed the absent student in as present and accounted for. Tha courts use student attendance like the Department uses A and A's. It is a binding document. Thanks Richie. Just so you can get your money.

They don't need to study or do any work. Showing up is enough to get a passing grade these days.

Let’s take a look at the free lunch program as well. For instance take a community like Ashburn on the southwest side, how does a school which serves a community that is made up of over 70% single family homes have 90 % of their students on the free lunch program? You can afford a home, but you can’t provide lunch for your children? Remember Ashburn has many cops, fireman, postal workers, etc. But they can’t afford to feed their children. You can bet your life that when a certain school performs poorly they will blame it on poverty and the lack of good nutrition. They will be quick to throw out the free lunch program numbers as proof, to conceal poor teaching, poor learning, poor parenting and a broken public school system that keeps feeding the students to the gangs, a life of poverty and government dependency.

This story about 1 school in the entire CPS system is NOT the tip of the iceberg regarding bogus attendance figures. It is the pin head on top of the tip of the iceberg. Remember the 15 year old kid shot and burned on the southside in May? His family said he had not been to school since October. I bet he was listed as an active student. Ask guys from our Fugitive Apprehension Unit about CPS records. They have access to records of active students in the CPS system to check against Investgative Alerts and warrants. I personally know of two kids that never showed up at their listed school since day one this year! Yet for years and years and years Daley and CPS told of "record breaking attendance" on the first day of school. Finally someone looked into this BS.

I read last week that the valedictorian of Senn had a 3.68 grade point average and scored a 24 on the ACT! WHAT A JOKE!!! That couldnt even get you into U of I! CPS = bad joke

What happened to get to school before I kick your ass? Cuz, that's what I got.
Fake students, why not? The police department has exempt members who are fake leaders. The city has a mayor who is a fake leader. We can go on forever. The one thing Chicago is: consistent.
chicago= scam city.
Who's accountable? You are if one of these "students" shoots somebody.

Good point. I used to work in a substance abuse treatment program. Some lazy ass counselor was known for back dating all her progress notes for groups, and by memory. One day a client went out a committed a murder, lawyer requested records of the progress notes which had him marked present for group and guess who got away with murder?

Sorry SCC, that is a loss. Just like our details that have a special event #, and you alluded to in the top half of your post, its federal money. They get it if everyone shows up, but suppose their expenses are only 40% of what the feds gave them? You don't suppose they give the rest of that money back, do you? That is considered a 60% profit, and if the kids don't show, they 'lose' their profit.

To add to this:
Just read Ann Coulter's book "Guilty", in which she talks about how the liberals idolize single mothers, demonize marriage, but ignore the stats (all referenced in the book)that show the cost to tax payers regarding aid, the increase in crime due to the number of criminals who come from single parent homes, and the perpetuation of single mother births because it is now the "in thing" and how staggering the numbers have grown in 30 years. Oh yea, and they are all victims. It is a choice, they are not victims.
So, if we want to fix this scourge upon society, we need to reduce the birth rate to single mothers, eliminate further aid to encourage this behavior, and hold people accountable for their actions.
Then maybe the police won't have to die needlessly, the prison population will drop, education will improve, and we will be able to live in a less violent society.

Easy. Expel the kids who don't show. Close down the schools with low attendence. This will eliminate the teachers who are unable to teach these creatures who don't want to learn and save the city money. Hopefully, the teachers can find better jobs in the burbs.
What about the chosen few schools who PAID kids who got good grades? This was in the news about 9 mos ago and dropped out of sight. Wonder if those who got those "A"'s actually showed. Maybe the teacher gets a cut and everyone walked away with

how about fake tac guys--- come in at 6pm, take a 2 hour lunch and leave at 12 on the head-- every day--- HELLO--- dispatcher can see on gps that these cars all parked in lot--- watch commander also knows and looks the other way--- but the beat and rapids better come in at ten after--- also have dispatchers sending sgt messages about cars being where they shouldn't be (hello gps)--- another reason why i go out and do nothing every night----
