Tapes Destroyed

  • Daley said he did not think his nephew had traded on his family connections to drum up funding for DV Urban Realty, which he founded three years ago and quit this week.

Investigators have sought recordings of closed-door pension board meetings that might shed some light on how Vanecko got the business, but the Tribune has learned that at least one pension fund decided late last year to destroy such recordings. City Comptroller Steve Lux made the motion to delete tapes of private police pension board discussions, possibly including conversations about DV Urban, under a state law that allows deletion of old records.
Yes, the only thing that might have cleared Vanecko and the assorted Pension Board representatives from any appearance of impropriety were conveniently destroyed in the fall/winter of 2008.

Of course, the tapes might not have cleared anybody at all. And there's a Federal subpoena floating around with all sorts of uncomfortable questions that are going to have to be answered at some point. And the Feds are notoriously unhappy when they have to rely on recall and faulty memories that seem to lead them astray. That's when the contempt and lying charges start appearing. If we we're the Pension Board members, we'd be hiring a whole shitload of attorneys about now.

Maybe thats why they were paying the Law school tuition for the secretary, so they could use her as "in house" council.

Ah, the coverup, always gets folks in the end. When do they ever learn? And as you noted, even if there isn't one, they have assured the possibility of charges on it because of faulty recollections. Amazing. Nixonian.

I have an idea and not sure how it will go over. I want to have black ink pens with a reminder put on them. Such as: Remember Cozzi under the Fed Bus. I want to sell them for 5 to 10 dollars a piece and forward the money to him. But the main reason is to have every officer own one as a constant reminder how a mistake in judgement could cost you your job and freedom. Even a dog-ass copper looks at his pen once a day to do his crossword puzzle. Feedback please.

Same typical Daley bullshit coverups that he and his crime family get away with all the time and they always will.

And guess what, it's those same crime family fucks that keep voting him in so they can keep raping the coffers. Why would they vote for anyone else?

Destruction of evidence in a Federal Investigation = Obstruction of Justice.

Fantastic, that is the best and most sure way for those pricks to draw considerably more attention to themselves. Now the people at the pension board (Mike Shields and I presume other sworn excepted) have no way to prove their non-culpability and the appearance now is they had something to hide, which, of course, they did.

Now they will have to show that they had a history of destroying tapes on a regular basis. Otherwise it will look like what it is, they destroyed the tapes because they had something to hide.

A typically hasty and ill conceived cover-up. You think there were any midnight phone calls from the Mayor's office to Daley-appointed pension board trustees? Subpoena the phone records of them all.

Fantastic, this is getting interesting. The Feds ought to be sitting up and taking notice real good about now. Steve Lux and the rest, get a road map and learn where Oxford, Wisconsin is.

Just a reminder, not that long ago, United Airlines declared they were broke, yet the the planes they owned kept flying, the costly commercials continued on, everything appeared fine to their customers. However, a judge allowed them to become solvent again by taking away the retirees pensions. For their great leadership & knowledge in saving the company, the board of directors were rewarded with 21 million dollars beside their overinflated regular salaries. The automakers will do the same thing in due time. Privately, our city officials must be contemplating how to tap out our pensions in the same manner. City declares bankruptcy, all pensions reduced/slashed/stolen with federal approval. If it could happen in the private sector don't think it couldn't happen in the public sector.

U.S. Cities to Rely on Persuasion as New Crime-Fighting Tactic

Saturday, June 13, 2009

At least 30 cities are expected to announce Monday that they are joining an unorthodox crime-fighting program that relies on persuasion, rather than arrests, to cut down on criminal behavior.

The initiative, run by the John Jay College of Criminal Justice, targets violent crime and open-air drug markets that are the scourge of some communities. The program is potentially controversial because it involves not prosecuting known offenders if they agree to quit their criminal activities.

The National Network for Safe Communities, which is slated to be unveiled at the annual meeting of the U.S. Conference of Mayors, will be run in cities including Boston, Cincinnati, High Point, N.C., Los Angeles, Milwaukee and Providence, R.I., where the mayors' gathering began Friday.

Developed by David Kennedy, a criminologist at John Jay College in New York, the crime program combines elements of initiatives run in the 1990s in Boston and in High Point in 2004 that were credited by authorities with helping reduce youth gang and drug violence. Boston authorities say their program cut youth homicides by two-thirds and homicides citywide by half. The High Point plan eliminated drug markets citywide, the city says.

Under the project, law-enforcement officials and prosecutors in the cities identify individuals operating in violent-crime areas who haven't yet committed serious violent crimes, and build cases against them, including undercover operations and surveillance. The culmination is a "call in" when the case is presented to the would-be suspect in front of law enforcement, community leaders, ex-offenders and friends and family.

"The prosecutor talks to them and lets them know: 'we could arrest you now but we won't because the drug dealing stops today, the violence stops today,'" said Jeremy Travis, president of John Jay. "If you continue, you now know the consequences and you've seen the case against you but we don't want to send you to prison."

This has nothing to do with any topics on this blog and yet it does. I retired awhile ago and on Monday I will be having an angioplasy to open blockage in the main left artery going into my heart. I am not yet 54 yrs. old. I know that this is mostly my fault, the extra weight, lack of exercise, at least I didn't smoke. I also blame the stress of my job for this. I always claimed I would collect all of my pension and yet my doctor stated I was two years away from a major heart attack. I was going to be one of those "police officers". Only live 3-5 years beyond retirement and then die.

I am telling you this because there are only three things important in your life: family, health and being safe.
Take care of yourselves as best you can.
This job deprives some of you of proper times to eat, sleep and be stress free.
I would like to know what 8 hours in a patrol car on a daily basis contributes to ill health. Probably alot and depending on where you work even more so.

Add to that the stress of bosses, CR's,
contracts, 35th St., etc. and you have a plan for disaster.

I will now have to make alot of change in my life. Take medication, exercise, eating right (which I already started) and hopefully turn this around to a positive.

I know that I will be fine after this procedure and that I will live along time. I have made that my mantra for the past three weeks. This will be a journey for the rest of my life.

Stay safe, keep yourself healthy and find outlets for that stress and not in a bottle. Try a punching bag instead, I wish I had.

Retired Officer

Picture it- CPD Takeover of CPD! At any cost, get to that FOP meeting please. Pack the hall. We all need to be there. We must demand that no funds be removed to pay for legal counsel for these criminals. Then pass a hat because we now have a chance to use the unique talents of one of our own. Detective Beibel. We hire him out of our own money in our pockets and catch these rats dirty once and for all. SCC gets plenty of tips and clues. I've got big mouth neighbors all over city hall and CPD headquarters that can't wait to show me how clouted they are by telling me all the dirty little secrets. For example, how there is supposed to actually still be sets of tapes from every meeting. Someone considered it insurance for his and hers luxury jobs and perks. For the first time in our sad sack lives we've got a chance to catch the felonious, criminal bastards the right way by hiring an honest, experienced outsider we can trust.. If he wants to recommend someone else we can believe him. I'll put the first 20 in the hat. When we get the goods on them, our union w/ the help of our new experienced union lawyers we hire, will make certain that we are NOT holding the bag paying the legal fee's for these pricks. They can pay our fee's in the end. If we are footing the bill, the union can't say a fucking thing about it. They have no involvement.

At this time they have refused to discuss or return it. The amount in question thus far; six million dollars. $6,000,000,000.00.USC and interest compounded daily on the amt. The 14,000 officers the mayor insists are in evidence can all sign embezzlement, theft by deception, theft of services, and disorderly conduct complaints against daley, his nephew and the nephews partner. In addition the city treasurer and the head of the police committee also are to blame.

I'm going to literally throw myself undera bus. I know how to duck and roll. Get the very best PI atty. and cane. Find a nice crib with some palm trees and chill. I'll take a few grand off the top for my boy Cozzi and pass it to his family so he doesn't have to worry so much. That's what's going to really tear him up.

Please, pretty please with sugar on top, don't sell drugs and kill people. We won't arrest you. Oh, God this country has taken a slide down the shitter.

Cook county has had a plan like this in place for years. We arrest them and the courts let them go.

How does our crime rate compare?

Daley won't know anything. The guy who remembers the smallest slight from years ago and never ever forgets can't remember who appointed Angelo Torres to head the Hired Truck program.

Anyone remember William Abolt? He was the City of Chicago Budget Director. Daley threw him under the bus in early 2004 as the Hired Truck scandal broke. He tried to blame Hired Truck on William Abolt and Abolt was Daley's first "Fall Guy" to go. Except Daley denied he was the "Fall Guy."

Then Daley forgets who appointed the head of the program, one of the biggest scams to come along in many years.

There were people with trucks whose fathers made a good living off Hired Truck, this is a multi generational scam, it goes way back.

And Daley says he didn't know? Total bullshit, of course.

Somewhere there, in 2004 or 2005 the Feds raided City Hall and seized records. And Daley was called in by the Feds and forced to give a deposition. I believe that was related to the hiring scheme that blew up and sent Robert "the Quiet one" Sorich to prison.

We have to assume that Daley lied, he always lies. So why no indictments yet? Why has Daley been allowed to continue his public corruption crime spree that he calls City Government?

This is way too much. Patrick Fitzgerald has to stop this guy, Richard M. Daley. It seems like nothing else can. We are just going to continue to be lied to and stolen from forever.

We can only pray that our pension fund will have some left when we need it.

Do ya think Sis will get a job on Fuckhead TV eating bugs to support you ?????????

6/13/2009 10:17:00 PM

Sis Daley is his Mother and she has passed. Maggie is the wife, and no, she will not eat bugs to support him. She will not have to eat bugs.

Maggie has her own income from sitting on multiple corporate boards, plus Dick has stolen and hidden enough, so there is will be no need for her to suffer in a jungle, other than having to suffer in a luxury condo in the clouds with a distant sky view of our urban jungle.

When she tires of viewing the urban jungle or it scares her, poor baby, she will just close the very expensive drapes, then start a read-a-thon, or occasionaly yell "Let them eat cake!" from the condo balcony, and wait for Dickie to be pardoned and paroled so they can continue their opulent lifestyle, while the rest of us city workers look for work because Dickie stole so much he had to lay off the entire city workforce.

Remember, Dick Daley before he dicks you. Hoffman, Fitzgerald, why are you waiting? Gets this mother fucker Daley NOW! Stevie Wonder could follow this trail without a cane or a dog!

Legally getting the truth from these assholes requires torture.

Normally, I'd say reserve waterboarding for our enemies. But then it struck me: These people are our enemies.

YOU ain't a cop kid. And YOU have no involvement in our affairs with the pension board.

Try remembering that in your idle posting from now on wannabe.

These assholes are OUR enemy, NOT yours.

If you watch for little details in the papers you will notice things pop up and disappear. About thirteen months ago, there was a tiny two paragraphs article about Ike which sure made me think he was about to get in a lot of trouble. I watched and watched the paper and nothing. I thought to myself, how can that be? It seemed like such a credible story. Now, Ike's fucked. If you really watch Fitzgerald, there's always a little storyline and then it vanishes. He also has a habit of working himself up the food chain slowly and methodically. Kind of like to create a lot of worry and anxiety for the big fishey's. Get's them to thinking about who they're going to flip on or how they can minimize the damage.

Personally, I think he's got Daley dead to rights. And I don't care what all you naysayers think about "he can't go up any farther." What does he have to lose? A job? He could run for office tomorrow and would win by a landslide. He could go into private practice. He can do whatever he wants at this point. I just hope he wants to get to the truth and commits himself to following it wherever it goes and whoever it touches.

Please stop idiot. You no year on the job talk a good game. You supporting will last 4 weeks at best. One year from now, it will be Cozzie who?

He got convicted and will serve his time in "Club Fed". He might learn a trade and when he is paroled he can be "someone."

Sell pens.....Kid you are really lost. You had to have grown up in the North Shore area and then your daddy lost his job as a CEO and you had to get a job.

C'mon. Do you think someone like this would even notice that Richie was gone?

Talk about the original "looking out for Number One..."

Hard as nails. She'll be up in that high-security, cushioned, utterly silent condo (and those will be remote control expensive drapes to hide the scene of smoke rising from the burning city) like some kind of horrible, dessicated Abigail Van Buren until she's about 117 years old. "Yes'm, Miz Daley. No'm, Miz Daley." Probably get a tiny poodle and keep someone full-time to take it down in the elevator to shit. Chef in the building's five-star restaurant will ingratiate himself by fixing it little specialty dishes, etc. There'll be little blurbs on 190 North about this...
