- New York City is buying one-way plane tickets for homeless families to leave the city.
It's part of a Bloomberg administration program to keep the homeless out of the expensive shelter system, which costs $36,000 a year per family. More than 550 families have left the city since 2007. All it takes is for a relative to agree to take them in.
The city employs a travel agency for domestic travel and the Department of Homeless Services handles international travel.
City officials say there are no limits on where a family can be sent and families can reject the offer.
Families have been sent to 24 states and five continents, mostly to Puerto Rico, Florida, Georgia and the Carolinas.
City officials say none of the relocated families have returned to city shelters.
Now since Richie looks like a homeless bum half the time, can we buy him a ticket out of town?

Yeah because back in the 90's Seattle was sending thier bums and homeless to Honolulu. One way prepaid what a deal! It's documented look it up in the Honolulu Advertiser.

on my police salary I am close to homeless, and I have relatives in Jamaica.
Shortshanks will have to find a firm willing to make kickbacks.
The people on the far end will have to pay a "head tax" on each relative they are importing, depending on distance, depending how close the relationship, depending on sex, willingness to give sex.
All persons will have to prevote Democratic absentee for the next one hundred years.

USAF transport aircraft crews have to do a certain # of parachute drops every year to stay certified. Save taxpayer money, cargo strap shanks and the 50 aldercreatures to an airforce pallet and toss 'em out the back door of C130(there's a unit at Milwaukee airport) over Alaska or something.
Kudos to NYC and Bloomberg. It's just too bad the homeless will now be a burden on another state. Hopefully not too many chose Illinois. We are probably one of the top welfare states.
I like the idea of sending them to Obama's Chicago pad. President do-good for the down trodden can set an example. I'm sure Michelle will be for it. Give 'em Link cards, Wic cards, secion 8 vouchers, medicaid and the new free government insurance card. Once that gets full and let them crash everywhere at the liberal U of Chicago neighborhood. That might explain why I get these jags asking me for train ticket money because of their best BS disaster story they can muster. A couple of years ago I visited a business partner in Denver, CO. He pointed out all the homeless that were roaming the city and told me that some big cities were flying the homeless to Denver on a free one way ticket. This is not new.

Yes. And all the whack-jobs (I mean extreme mental crazies) with tatoos on their foreheads (from the prisons they were in) landed in Humboldt Park. They are now being cared for in some social program being paid for by your tax dollars. Another dumbocrat (Carter) doing what he does best.
Our very own president wants to give free health insurance to every illegal. He's keeping up the dumbocrat tradition.
