No New Taxes?

  • Despite Daley’s promise to hold the line on taxes, fines, and fees, Budget Director Eugene Munin acknowledged that the budget includes a 14 percent increase in water rates.

“We took pains to say, ‘No new taxes,’ ’’ Munin said, noting the increase was approved three years ago.

Daley slips another one in under the radar - a tax increase passed 3 years ago? Gee, why so far back? Oh yeah, an election coming up.

The entire article is a bit of claptrap about how the aldercreatures are taking Shortshanks to task for mortgaging the city's future, as if they didn't have anything to do with voting and approving the entire process for the past few decades. We cover the rest of the BS in the post right about this one.

My cleaning lady who lives in crook county but doesn't live in the city was telling me today that she is moving out of cook county. My fucking cleaning lady!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And yes, I have a cleaning lady.

Female copper who likes a clean house working Midnights 6 days a week. I spend my first day off sleeping unfortunately. I'm not spending my second day scrubbing my house. But even more, I refuse to live like a shithead in a shithole. Thank you.

If Daley had his way, I would have 24 more furlough days to clean my house.

So you'll make out on the deal by not having to pay for the cleaning lady!

Just hope that Daley doesn't ask you for 365 unpaid furlough days!

The money for the city's first raise offer in the budget and is being held in reserve. The city is scared that the aribitrator may give us the same amount but not back load it. The city is shitting bricks so their budget released to the public must all be b.s.. If we start this 25 alderman thing we must be willing to go to the wall with it. If we do it half ass and it fails we are going to look like jerks. We can become a political force in the city be we must do it TOGETHER! Hammer Ed Smith ward with tickets and do not write any others around the city. They will get the message!!!!
