Once again, Bobby Rush is a moron:- “Justice has not prevailed and justice has not been done,” U.S. Rep. Bobby Rush (D-IL) told reporters after the sentencing.
[...] Rush questioned the emergency response to the incident, which authorities say began with a security guard using pepper spray in the crowded club. That triggered a rush to the front exit of the building that left the victims trapped on the stairwell.
Rush also wondered “if this [club] had been predominated by white citizens whether or not riot police would have been called rather than rescue police.”
Could someone let us know what rescue police are? Or riot police for that matter? Is this some heretofore undiscovered clout unit of the Chicago Police Department we are unaware of?
One could also wonder what all those black politicians and businessmen were doing covering for an illegal club that operated under their protection for months, maybe years without permits, licenses, insurance, evacuation plans, inspections, etc.
But that would be racist according to Bobby Rush.

The scum-times had an item of how to best "honor" those who died in the E2 fiasco. Um, maybe I'm cynical, but why in the world would we honor those people? Did they die while performing some sort of selfless heroic act, or are they just a bunch of people who died because they were at a poorly run club where no one knew how to act? Honor schmonor. You play with fire and you get burned. F Bobby Rush! Nothing more than a racist. If any of his own actions were played out in reverse, he'd be the first one shouting racism.
so let me get this straight--two guys opened the bar or a section of the bar that was ordered closed by the city. e2 happens, 21 die, police and fire respond in subzero temps and it's everyone elses fault but the 2 guys who disregarded a court order. am i missing something?
I was at the E2 incident,as one of the reponding units. It was amazing that as we attempted to rescue people,patrons of the club were continually interferring with rescue efforts threating paramedics to forget the patient they were trying to revie and to "take care of my boy>' Heard numerous paramedics were flashed guns . Saw people rocking ambulances and paramedics having to lock the doors as they worked on victims.
As we tried to clear the streets so that rescue personnel could get to scne we came under attack by rock and bottle throwing crowd that demanded that they get thier cover charge back. People were screaming for help and we had gang bangers challenging police that they weren't going to leave because they left thier jacket inside. Then there's the idiots who jumped on the roof of squad cars trying to incite the crowd to attack us. We finally took back the streeet after enough units arrived and were able to help rescue the remaining patrons.
I would have liked to rescue more but I was to busy trying to protect the parmedics, clear the streets of the rock and bottle throwers, get the goofs off the squad cars, and keep the asswipes from stealing everything that was not nailed down.
I guess it was to much to expect the "patrons" to help rescue anyone, I mean why should they its more fun to attack the very people that are trying to SAVE your people.
Don't blame the police or fire VBobby Rush blame your constinuents who did everything possible to take advantage of a tragedy just like they always do when they think they can get away with something by taking advantage of the mass confusion and panic.
Heres an idea next time theres a major disater tell peopple not to attack the rescue personnel but to pitch in and help. Then perhaps you would have a few more people alive today who could cast a couple of votes for you in the next elecyion. By the way where were you if you were so concerned I didn't see you there.

35 years ago went to what was then called Circle Campus, had some course where a guest speaker was Bobby Rush.

Hey I have 15 yrs on the job and just got a phone call on Tuesday to tell me that I am being detailed to the RESCUE POLICE UNIT. I got weekends off and I set my own hours. And I don't have to swipe in & out either.

Rush and Jackson kept the club open after numerous people shot, killed and raped at the club and its all documented. The file is out there, please spill the beans. About a year or so before this incident, a very good friend of mine & her husband had dinner at the resturant downstairs.
Afterwards, they went upstairs. Taking a good look at the "clientele" and the fact that she could only see the one exit (the stairs they just came up), she told her husband it was time to go. They stayed all of ten minutes.

I love the way Moprah notes that Kyles and Hollins were trying to get beefed up police presence at their club, as if that excuses them from running the place when it was supposed to be closed down.
Trying to get more cops - what, to do security inside your club? Hate to break it to ya, Mopes, but that's not the City's responsiblity. It's up to the club owner to police inside his establishment. City don't pay for your private security, folks.
