Last Chance for Petitions

Get them to a mailbox ASAP. If you can get them to a Post Office, all the better for quicker sorting and delivery. After Saturday's mail delivery, Sgt, Northen will have totals for us. We'll let everyone know by Monday morning how we did.

Good luck. Hope it wasn't a wasted effort. Of course, just the fact that some of you got your feet wet in the political process is a positive step. Hopefully, it will result in a new batch of honorable men and women willing to step up and run for elective office, (Hmmm, Alderman Northen sounds like a dream candidate to cause Daley and the 50 thieves a coronary!) . Just remember, if the circus chimps that are in office right now can do it, pretty much any human with a brain can, as well.

PS : My apologies to circus chimps everywhere for smearing their legacy with the stench of equating them with politicians of Chicago!

We were going up to Madison to watch the Badgers beat the Michigan Wolverines tomorrow at Camp Randall. However, I'll settle for TV and Mike Mette's Iowa Hawkeyes getting blown out at the Horseshoe in Columbus. I want to be available to collect every petition.

Remember, I am NOT ubiquitous. I can't pick up a stack in Hegewisch and then travel some 30 miles out to Edison Park for more. Try the mail ASAP. Otherwise, eMail me at cpdfop7@yahoo.com for delivery instructions which must occur during daytime hours in a high visibility location in 018, preferably close to my highrise on the southwest corner of Armitage Ave. and Clark St.

Since da Bears choked last night, there will be no game Sunday. I'll try to be available for those chronic procrastinators.

I know you're a passionate fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes, Officer Mette. However, my money is on THE OSU Buckeyes at home tomorrow.

Let's wrap it up with the petitions. In any event, I will give all the count late Monday via SCC.

Such a waste of time. The city will never allow some of its aldermen to be cut. They would agree to cutting the police force down to a max. of 10,000 first. Perhaps the police dept. should focus on all the medical and phony IOD first.

A desperate attempt by desperate people to hang onto their jobs! Let's face it, "these political hack knuckleheads" get paid 145K+ to do nothing but cruise around all day and try to look like they know what they are doing! This is ridiculous! The city should Dig up one of their "coffee cans" from under Daley's house and give us a fair raise! No more bullshit meetings of why "morale" is so low! Just pay us what you owe us! No "thank you" required! We will return to duty and all these Town hall meetings" can stop! Does anyone know how to get anything done in this city?

There will always be naysayers in the crowd. While your suggestion that the police dept. should focus on the medical and phony IOD's has merit, it really doesn't address the purpose of the referendum.

Of course the stuttering prick won't reduce the number of aldermen. This is a NON-BINDING referendum and dumping aldermen would actually increase the power of the city council and decrease the power of the mayor. Getting this referendum on the ballot, however, will have a rippling effect in this city.

* It will establish a new and powerful block of voters and political activists and introduce the people who participated in this effort to the political process.

* It will embarrass the mayor if he is unable to block it from making it on the ballot and he will be forced to acknowledge and answer the inevitable questions AND explain WHY HE WILL NOT DO IT!

* It will put a spotlight directly on the city council and the aldermen, themselves, sending them scurrying to hide from the scrutiny of their worthlessness.

* It will certainly cause the media to discuss WHO IS and WHO IS NOT performing adequately and honorably and if the number of aldermen were to be reduced, WHO SHOULD GO.

* It will help to flush out and identify the worst of the aldermen thus targeting them for removal and replacement by better, more qualified candidates.

* It will clearly and openly declare once and for all, that the citizens of Chicago are sick and tired of the corrupt, business as usual patterns of this mayor.

Make no mistake about this. IF this gets on the ballot, it will make news nationally and perhaps even globally as a citizens' concept of how to cut the outrageous spending habits of politicians during this world economic crisis. I can't wait to see them running for cover!

Even if the petition drive falls a little short it accomplished a major task in shutting up the aldermen since it started. Alderman Smith and the other goof have not said a word since the drive started. I am sure that the other aldermen told them to shut the f@ck up.

We are as a group are a sleeping giant. FOP can not get involved in partisan politics. Thou they do so many times with a wink and a nod. What we need is to start running officers for office in th areas that we live. The firemen and city workers who are all getting screwed are all ready to jump mayor Chuckie’s ship. But as much as we talked a lot about this drive we need to take our message about how bad government works in this city to the public. SCC is a great way to vent and share information.

What I would ask is for every officer who posts here is to set up an email account with someone like AOL or wow or at&t that does not reference being the police in the screen name. Like concerned citizen or concerned tax payer. Them log on to all the news agencies that report on Chicago politics. We should all post in mass like the concerned tax payers that we are all. Make little or no reference to your occupation. Make these posts as a informed and insightful resident of the city.

When the city starts its onslaught on the cost of pensions we need to hammer them on the 6% raises they take, the expense accounts and discretionary spending they have as excesses that brought on the city’s financial troubles. Add in the truck for hire, ghost paroling at the water department, and sewer contract to the mayor’s son, the raid on the pension by his nephew, the month to month lease to the water department by the nephew. The electric department has been called Madigan Electric we need to start calling the water department Daley Water! If we can become 13,000 John Kass’s think what we to do to public opinion? The power is in our hands!

Thank God the rapid cars do something so they can sleep. 3rd watch, all dogs except a few rapid cars that used to be the police until policy won out. Its great to watch our home become a ghetto. Would a supervisor and coppers quit worrying about event numbers, curfews, school absentees, parkers, etc and protect our homefront? This mayor declared war against the CPD years ago. THIS is about fighting back and not hiding in a corner like a sissy which is apparently what you think everyone should do.

Our pay and such is currently in the hands of an arbitrator who is probably ALREADY in the mayors pocket. Nothing being done with this petition will change any outcome that the stuttering prick has ALREADY bought and paid for.

F*ck this mayor! It's about time some ballsy people stand up and refuse to say "Thank you Mayor, may I have another?" Losing 2016 was a kick in the balls to 42 short and the BEST thing to do now is pile on!

I believe the retired Sgt made a slew of felony arrests while he was being the real police. Also, I believe he was screwed over by the politicos before you and I were on the job (if in fact you really are on the job). Now, while riding into the sunset, he is making time to assist his extended family and attempting to improve the rapidly deteriorating conditions in this town. He is not "talking" he is doing something. He, and the rest of us, don't sound like the pathetic one(s) here.

You guys are so pathetic, especially Northside. I don't see why some retired guy don't ride into the sunset and play with his grandkids. Real POlice don't get involved in politics. Real Poilice lock up bad guys and make the city safer. Between court, various meetings, my sidejob, and most importantly doing law POlice work I don't have time for petitions or other political stuff. I'm just a regular no clout working copper I guess.

I'm sorry to say I didn't have the time to get out there and get some signatures for a worthwhile petition like this. I didn't see anyone passing one around either. Hope there are a lot of signatures so that the point gets across to these scumbag politicians...

Great turnout to the Valadez benefit, sorry there weren't more bosses.

Thanks to all for this effort to go up against city hall, the mayor and all the aldermen in the city. Im glad that everyone that is taking part in this has the balls to do it. Furthermore, I would especially like to thank all involved for doing this around contract talks becuse all you have done is shot us all in the foot. Your "ballsy" idea do not reflect all of the members of the cpd. I could care less how many aldermen there are in this city. The fact of the matter is that when it comes down to it, city hall will win and we will lose. Our pay and our happiness on this job will suffer. This job is about to get much, much worse with these goofy petitions sent out. Dont you people know to shut up and lay low.. stay out of the damn spotlight!!!! MORONS!

You Sir, are the pathetic one and the moron! Nobody shot anybody in the foot, except Daley and his criminal cabal!

--No matter where you live it's going to change. The economic hardships are causing people to rent their homes to ANYONE because it won't sell.
Calling the alderman's office will not help. Your best bet is to go door to door and ask people to sign a petition and THEN drop it at the alderman's office. I'm hearing the people that live on the west end of 008 are FED UP and the CAPS meetings haven't been pleasant.

For those of u that think this is a stupid idea. You need a histoy lesson. This country was founded on men with balls. Not to stand up for your convictions because your afraid Daley will take away stuff makes you a coward. Remember " we the People". Without people who complained for our rights we would be in a world of shit. Back in the day u could be on a tranfer order to 7 midnights if u stepped on the wrong toe. Man up people.

gee, do ya think it's 'enough sooner' for the 2011 mayoral and aldermanic elections?

11/13/2009 07:52:00 PM

Yeh and what are YOU going to do about it. Are you going to get the 600 signatures to run for Aldermen? Are you going to be the person to actually run? Are you going to be able to raise at the minimum $100,000 to even try to make a impact? Are you going to get the 25,000 signatures needed to run for Mayor? Are you going to raise at least 1 million for tv ads NO so stop all the B.S.....................

If you want to get the message out STOP TALKING and start at the bottom with our Union! Run for FOP president and win! Use the resources that we have to launch the political message that is needed for CPD. Start a PAC (Political Action Commitee) and raise money!

Are you one of those off-duty pussy coppers who complains about everyone else and desperately needs to be kept busy all the time? How about instead of calling the police when we need service in 016, we'll call you! Do you deliver bullshit too or are you pick-up only?

Shortage of beat officers, do what they did in the late 70's. Put tact teams in uniform on beat cars getting radio assignments. I know it happen to me but the calls were answered and minimal backlog. The egos have to go to get the job done. Clout always played a role in tact assignments but every new commander kept one working team if he was smart.

Amen.

Or assign jobs ot tac if not on an arrest. And not just gangd and selling jobs.

All Rob, Burg, Susper jobs should go to tac first. They are teh super stars right?

And if they are not smart enough to run out and grab the first head they see mybe they should be assigned calls.

I don't like to copy the whole text of these posts but this one I felt compelled because I want to respond to it in its entirety. Why do you think that poor old pathetic John Northern and the other poor pathetic coppers would try to make things better for working coppers? Especially since poor old retired pathetic Northern is retired. Did you ever think that in some unselfish way he/they want you to have a better life than they had, while you are working the job. Nobody is asking you to do anything, especially if you are in fear of repercussions. That being said, don't use the excuse of "I don't have time for that", we all know that is complete bull. This job will never improve and this city will never improve if nobody does nothing. If you have your way, you will always be working on the mayors plantation. As long as somebody wants to do something to possibly help you out, get involved or stay out of the way. Thanks.
PS. Hey Northern, you pathetic prick, how ya doing?

Such a waste of time. The city will never allow some of its aldermen to be cut. They would agree to cutting the police force down to a max. of 10,000 first. Perhaps the police dept. should focus on all the medical and phony IOD first.
