KC Dashcam Shooting

A grand jury cleared the Kansas City PD officers a few days ago and released the in-car videos. We got a bunch of these in the mail. Here's the raw video:

Here are a few media links:
A "routine" traffic accident turns into a gun battle. An excellent job by the officers.

OT....I have posted this before but I don't think you can say it enough.

Please take the time to send brother Bill Cozzi a Christmas card even if you don't know him or what J-fed did to him. He's not doing well and needs support. He's got a lot of time left and the holidays are tough. His address is posted on the right side of SCC.

Thanks!

Very nice job by those PO's.
And the public wonders why we ask for just a measly cost of living raises.
How often do they go to THEIR office jobs and get SHOT AT??

Great job. Anytime that we have to pull the trigger, the thought in the back of the mind is NEVER good. After the fact, the what if...great job by the officers and please GOD remember, better to be judged by 12 that carried by 6. My heart is with the officers, but, let's be honest, if it's you or me...YOU ARE GONE!!!!! My family deserves more than a flag and a check!

How is it that the officers were even before a Grand Jury? Ridiculous the times we are living in. Wrong is Right and Right is Wrong, Up is Down and Down is Up, Bad is Good and Good is Bad. Sad times.

Suicide by cop for sure??? wow you have great insite into the mind of an offender who is shooting at, and advancing on a single patrol officer. The assist car began firing as the first PO was on the ground. Keep your mindless statements of "fact" to youself unless you have a clue. It does not much matter what the motive is when the offender is trying to kill you. You cold call every police shooting suicide by cop if the offender is dead and he shot at the police first.

chicago is actually different than many places. many places in the united states send police shootings to the grand jury for review. now i dont agree with it at all, but just the way it is. No clue why they do it, i think its stupid and a waste of time but what ever. thats what you get when you have lawyers running this country. it all went down hill when clinton got into office. sure, the economy was great... but the U.S had its balls chopped off when he was in office.

*********

I'm a law-abiding citizen, and I don't care that they didn't shoot them in the leg. I know how hard it is to accurate hit a leg-sized target at range..I can only imagine with adrenaline that this ability becomes even less feasible.

No, so long as a verbal command is issued loud and clear, I'm all for you guys killing these assholes. It's not like the guy was deaf. Even if he was completely innocent (look at the guy, does he look like a model citizen?), you don't point a gun at someone unless you are ready to take their life. Point one at a cop..well, you get what's coming to you.

No remorse here.

Grand Jury???? I understand if they don't have a round table of some sort but still one would think it would have to be reviewed by a lawyer/prosecutor first before it was sent to a grand jury. And if they reviewed it why didn't they make the judgement that it was justified and squashed it then before it was sent to the grand jury????? All in all great that both officers are fine and the scum bag is no longer stealing oxygen.

Jody, it is unlikely either of these officers have passed a "power test" lately. However, each got the job done. Good cops are not measured by the number of sit-ups they can do. You don’t know what a cop is or does. Are these “warriors” worthy of a carbine if they were under your “command”? You are not a "warrior" or worthy of OUR uniform.

In MOST places this isn't such a bad thing. Seem most places have actual, real people to serve on the GJ and they screen the shoot, and legitimize the officer's actions by their agreement.

In areas such as we live, the animalistic, anti-social, radical leftist idiots that masquerade as citizens can't be trusted to actually indict the guilty and justify the actions of those that did the right thing to protect the citizenry.

In some states, all violent homicides go to the grand jury. It is seen as a check on the police power of the state. Usually, the prosecutor says, "Dirtbag 'A' shot at the police and they returned fire. Their actions were within the law and the policies of the police department." He might even show the video. It is just a fact-finding process which also shields the police from further claims of "They didn't have to kill that honor student who was just turning his life around, took care of his momma and his baby and his baby momma, just needed a chance and a helping hand, and wouldn't harm a fly."

Grand juries are not necessarily bad things.
