Ruth Gets 14 Days?

From the comments:
  • Rumor is that the city's biggest Elton John/ Billy Joel fan was given only 14 day suspension when a 70 day suspension was recommended..Weis thought 14 days was enough. At least she wont miss a tennis lesson with Maggie in this weather
If true, appropriate for a start. But didn't another commander get busted back down to lieutenant for behavior unbecoming? And an ADS ended up as another lieutenant on midnights on the south side for telephone harassment?

jody weis recommended suspension for impersonating a police officer--- infinity days as in get the fuck out of here because nobody will work for you except the screwballs--- father nangle had a very interesting column in the current fop newsletter in which he comments on the power of the internet and also bill cozzi--- the good father seemed to concur with most people in the patrol division that billy was railroaded and he thought that a response to this atrocity should be some type of protest by the rank and file--- father nangle, the protest is in full force and it is reflected on the check off sheets at the end of the tour of duty of most cops in patrol... goose eggs baby, and we do care and thank you for your insightful column....

Be careful when you demand MORE punishment for anyone on this department. One day you may find yourself on the other end.

Just ANOTHER reason to do absolutely NOTHING above and beyond what you get dispatched in the way of calls for service.

Supervisors like Ruthie are cut from the same cloth; the ones that constantly harp on coppers for "activity". You know - write some parkers, movers, ANOV's or face the usual consequences/threats of losing your car or being separated from one's partner or being denied a day off.

The hair gels with no time on the job will bend over backwards to accommodate these tools, lest they get bounced to a rapid or denied a day in civilian dress to play super cop.

Then these same monkeys can walk into their DOC meetings with their assholes a bit less puckered, breathing a collective sigh of relief that they fooled the powers-that-be for yet another month, "justifying" their 6-figure salaries.

Again the two-tiered system of discipline rears it's ugly head yielding the results we already knew.

The hard chargers better not complain too loudly when they get it stuck up their ass pipes dry by the same supervisors for which they're jumping through hoops.

"it must be the resumes..."

It must be! How many of these nit-wit exempts just showed up for class (on company time) when the new educational requirements were instituted, but they were giving their homework/research papers to P.O.'s in the front office to complete for them? Some of these "Police Gods" have to wear their birth certificates pinned to an outer garment just to remember their names!

Oh yeah and by the way...

A lot of them LOVED when the call went out for P.O.'s to submit resumes for stuff i.e. promotional consideration or trying to get into a unit. From what we heard, there was/is a SHIT LOAD of "resume mining" going on since most of these humps were too stupid/lazy/imcompetent/lacking in true Police experience to stand on their own flimsy-assed records.

The former commander of Stalag 003 comes to mind but she had no business being the Police at all. The Department is beshat with educated goofs & "lawyer-visors" like the cop hater in Stalag 017. These prize winning humps shouldn't be allowed to be in charge of urinal cake inventory let alone a district or unit.

Yup... As one of the retired subject matter experts said, "They're the smartest bosses in the history of the Department, just ask 'em, they'll tell you."

What's your point? Perhaps I can clarify matters if you contact me at cpdfop7@yahoo.com

Bill Cozzi is over 200 miles WNW of New Orleans in the middle of nowhere. French Quarter it is not. It's bayou hell. I spoke with Bill several hours ago. Your letters and cards keep him strong among inmates hostile to police officers, Catholics, "Northerners" (certainly Chicagoans) and even those of Italian descent. As you would be, he is lonely, depressed, isolated and homesick. He just received the December FOP Newsletter with Father Tom's column. He is most grateful. We can't say enough good things about Tom Nangle.

We never discuss the WEISel. I assume full responsibility for any anti-WEISel comments.

Others have inquired about sending Bill postage stamps, iPods, radios, etc. NO! Again, only letters and cards. Absolutely nothing else. It will be either returned or confiscated.

If you would like to separately contribute via Western Union ($10 fee) to his commissary fund, check "Inmate Matters/Money" link at www.BOP.gov. However, Bill prefers that you contribute to the memorial fund for the families of the four Lakewood (WA) police officers who were murdered in the coffee shop.

When Bill is eligible to receive more books, I will notify all via SCC.

Unlike the Cozzi outrage perpetrated by one sadistic rat cocksucker, this Ruth Wedster thing is much ado about nothing. That's my opinion.

NorthSide,

I normally agree with you, but your take on this one is way wrong.

Disregarding that Wedster is an absolutely useless, arrogant piece of hack dung, if the African-American exempts are dumped for unknown and/or less serious transgressions, Wedster should have been demoted, also. What is good for one, is good for them all, regardless of skin tone and gender.

Besides, have you ever worked with or for her? Workers and men, especially male workers, are not prized by her, however, if you are kiss-ass women, you are enthusiastically welcomed into her tribe. She is a classic example of certain ills on our job.

Wedster was and is no more of a law enforcement officer than McGruff the Crime Dog. She is all fluff and bullshit and has no reason whatsoever to be arrogant, but she believes herself to be the best copper possible because she is a mixture of Sherlock Holmes and Buford Pusser.

Ruth, you are no brain surgeon and you certainly are not walking tall. You are a kiss-ass phony in a uniform. That is the sum-total of your worth. Exempt or white shirt material you are not, and you are not worth a pimple on a working copper's ass. Amen.

Leave families out of this shit...even that Goddamn outfit doesn't do that. This is a good example of how not only do we NOT have each others back anymore....we are our own worst enemies. Whoever did this is very lucky they have a computer to hide behind.

What's up with all the Guerrero postings? Like Franklin, Washington, and all the other merit promotions, they had their day in the sun. Let it go! The rest of us will be lucky if we ever make one merit rank, let alone, getting out of patrol.

Ruth Wedster has spent a lifetime going out of her way to help friends, family and even strangers. She's extremely intelligent and if you knew her at all, you'd know that. Even to someone like you, a jealous, twisted, tortured soul that spends hours on the blog devising literary attacks on her reputation, I'm sure she hopes that you find some peace. Ruth's mother did suffer a terrible death and Ruth never left her side for the few months she lived after her diagnosis except for work after using up her time. Almost immediately her father became terminally ill and the cycle began anew. She also lost a CPD sister in a terrible car crash and a neice to cancer. Maybe she's not arrogant. Maybe she's sad. For every copper You fuck over, I will try to help two because I can't imagine you helping anyone ever.

Lt. Rick Guerrero is a great guy to work for. He never thought he was bigger, better or smarter than anyone else no matter what his rank was. The problem with this department now is that there are very few Rick Guerrero's left. His personal life has nothing to do with his work life and it was always a pleasure to work for him.

This is all B.S. Maybe she should have gotten 3 days AT MAX. She was wrong, but 14 days is excessive. I have never spoken to the woman, but 14 days is B.S. 70 days would be outlandish. It might be time for the exempts to attempt to unionize, or at least have a meet and confer agreement.

You are either Ruth or an idiot, or both. Stay off the blog, biatch!

Ruth's punishment was very well deserved, however, her punishment was not near enough for a person of her position, and it was certainly not near enough as it relates to the punishment received by African-American exempts for their transgressions, known and unknown. As with the African-American exempts, she should have been demoted. Now that would have been fair, but nobody ever said it was going to be fair.

Many people on our job have suffered through the illnesses of their family members and/or lost their parents, and lost other family members, so Ruth's experiences and actions do not make her to be a special or an exemplary person.

Regardless of her personal travails, the facts speak for themselves. Wedster was a kiss-ass and an elbow-rubber from day one on the job. Then, as she was undeservedly GIVEN each rank, she showed her true self and became increasingly arrogant. Wedster is a piece of shit and goes out of her way to fuck over those not in her tribe. She makes me ill.

Sorry for your losses Ruth. That is a sad tale, but we should not be forced to suffer at the hands of your incompetence and arrogance because of your sadness. Besides, sadness does not make you unusual or more deserving. Many people are sad because of personal tragedies.

I admit. I am sad because we all do not have a chance at having a career as clouted and blessed as your career, but then, it is clear you are convinced your promotions are deserved because you are such a good person, and because you will help others, and because of your personal tragedies.

If that were so, there are a ton of people on this job that would be called Superintendent. It does not work that way, but, in your heart, you already know the truth. There are many, many people much more deserving than you, and, if deserving was the true reason for promotions, they would be the Commanders and you would still be a grunt.

and blah blah blah
That might be true, Officer S.S,but
facts are, she's still over promoted, violated a bunch of department rules, and skates relatively unscathed while other exempts who don't belong to the Mt Greenwood Erin club, got hammered and demoted for far less serious transgressions.

agree on the person who posted about John Matthews, CPD is so blatant on the bias in how punishment is handed out. It doesn't matter that someone else was the Superintendent then, the punishment should be the same. I hope Matthews is suing and I will get a good laugh at CPD when he wins!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Why was Matthews demoted and not Ruthie????

Look at the skin color, and the Mt Greenwood 19th ward aldermanic club, and that'll answer that question.

John Matthews-a GREAT boss-gets demoted and five days
Eric Washington-demoted-no wrongdoing
John Franklin-demoted-no wrongdoing
Lilly Crump Hales-forced retirement following seven days disciplinary
and Ruth gets a wrist slap and a saved promotion
something stinks here, and despite what you conservative homefront protecting family values types spout, that ain't no
hibbity jibbity um hum.

//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

Matthews is the dumbest SOB I ever met on this job. He is as dumb as dirt. And his demotion was well-deserved for his antics about his gang-banging kid. Matthews was just too stupid to realize his kid was an asshole. Shame on him and, if he did know the kid was a banger asshole, double shame on him.

Eric Washington was the guy that was really messed over. He is a good man with a head on his shoulders. Eric deserved better than the trick pulled on him, but Matthews should have been fired, not just demoted.

It is bad enough we have to watch these idiot civilians acting loud and outlandish and foolish at the front desk, but an exempt with a badge and a gun acting a fool at the front desk is totally unacceptable, regardless of the relationship shared between the exempt and the arrestee.

Jesus, I'm thankful I'm retired. This almost sounds like a joke. It's insane all this ratting each other out and telling IAD a boss put the wrong code on the A&A. So What? So the secretary checked the Captains A&A's and called IAD? There was a time he might've had a heroes funeral due to friendly fire.

Rick Guererro should have been fired, and should have never been allowed to wear a CPD uniform ever again for the shit he pulled abusing his rank and office. Need I remind anyone without clout (or insane levels of clout) what would happen to them if everyone was treated equally on this unequal job. He would be the first guy to sign off on your separation, maybe he can call you by your first name when he sticks it in. Yeah Im sure he's such a pal to everyone now, seeing what he can get away with, and I would walk around smiling all day too if I were him. Ol' Ricky, just never seems to go away

Naw. Tears would be wasted on an utterly hopeless situation.

Wedster is only one of the many very incompetent and needlessly arrogant, cloutorious exempts.

Weis, Daly, Kirby, Peterson, O'Keefe, Masters, Brust, Klimas, Ladner, Dugan, Cuello.....need I continue the top-down list? I think not. It is sickening and besides, everyone knows already. If you do not know, you really were born yesterday or you are in denial.

We are so far gone as a department, even the rescue and recovery modes are not possible, so cap it over with cement and call it a day. We are really done. CPD RIP.

We know you ran away from a scene and left your parter to fend for himself with an active resister. So keep writting your novel of yours and Ruths good deeds and personal tragedys.
