OK, all joking aside, we were completely flabbergasted when we started receiving e-mails this morning saying we had been mentioned on the John Williams WGN Radio Show today. We thought it was just a passing mention - but the whole show was about Google releasing a list of "top ten" searches in 31 markets across the US. And coming in at #3 for Chicago searches?

You left out the leadership of CPD. Why must we learn about decisions made at 35th street by reading it on the blog? Simple communication would impact morale. Instead we have the blog to keep us informed. And the clouted cannot hide

I like this site because it (was) a way to vent along with co-workers.
But, if I were a Chicago taxpayer who is out of work or whose job is at risk and I read some of the comments on this site, I would not support a raise or any other increase in benefits for police officers.
Too many comments are down right ignorant and they broadcast an image that police are lazy, incompetant, and just plain old stupid.
Cops should know better than anyone else that the more exposure you have to a group, any group, the more their sterotypes are proven to be true. The same goes for police sterotypes.

Was told the other day that we are getting NO new cars anytime soon and maybe none for all of 2010! Word is that if their is not enough cars to go around they are going to start with much more foot patrols and bicycle patrols. I'll take it in the summer, but in the winter they can take their feet and bikes and shuv em.
