Name Names Ike
- Chicago Ald. Isaac Carothers, 29th, is scheduled to plead guilty Monday to corruption charges, according to court authorities and records.
Court documents previously filed in the case revealed Carothers has cooperated in the federal probe and indicated he has secretly taped other public officials. Carothers is charged with mail and wire fraud as well as bribery for allegedly accepting about $40,000 in improvements to this home.
The government also alleged that Carothers accepted meals and tickets to sporting events in exchange for supporting zoning changes for a valuable piece of developed property in his ward.
So when do the feds reveal who and how many aldercreatures are on the tapes? How many State Reps and Senators? Maybe his sister and brother appear in prominent roles? Maybe even Shortshanks? We can only hope.

Its happening way to much in our unit. Trying to explain that to these bozo supervisors who never did police work in their life is impossible and frustrating. This may sound like a dumb question, but do we have any recourse other than just keep repeating the above statement over and over? Or just keep personnaly documenting these bozo's idiotic demands?

When my LT. attended the Department's Executive Management class, their group was sent to shadow Carouthers for the day (watch and listen to him in action about the Police and Fire Board).
The funny thing is that the Department knew that Carouthers was under federal investigation but still made supervisors shadow this guy as he talked about morals and questioned ethics within our own Department and about dirty police officers.
This went on for over three years of this management class and the city knew about this federal situation but still couldn't find anyone else to mentor the LT's!!!!!!!.
The message sent from this federal lesson to our future police leaders that attended the class is that at every level of city government, there are no trusted leaders in our Department or at the Hall!!

OT:A federal appeals court in Chicago today overturned the probation sentence given to former Ald. Edward Vrdolyak and ordered his resentencing by a different judge. Vrdolyak now faces faces a likely prison term.
I wonder if this will reach into the CPD. Vrdolyak is close friends and works with Alan Masters who is none other than the father of Mike Masters our civilian Chief of Staff who likes to carry a gun even though he is not the police. It must be ok to do that because his buddy Ray H. said so because they grew up together. Don't you just love Chicago politics. Wake up people and vote Daley out in 2011. Our dept. is being run by civilians and feds. Of our upper echelon the majority is either a civilian or a fed. Either way they have no clue what it takes to work a beat car or put cuffs on somebody. My opinion is that nothing earth shattering will be revealed. After all the Feds don't really ever get the evidence on people who are truly corrupt. They get token cases and then that's it.
My opinion is that Carothers won't be giving anyone up nor will he be ratting about any corrupt merit promotion info because he has no reason to. You would have to be faced with a significant punishment to do any of the above. Getting convicted and a brief sentence in Chicago politics means nothing to these guys but a mere inconvenience. They still are able to return to politics and often do. So if the Feds really want to get something accomplished here they would have more than a slap on your wrist punishment.

Here's a great idea. Hire a professional labor attorney with no ties to city hall and a media firm to handle union business instead of five veteran coppers at exempt pay with no labor experience. Have them respond to every police shooting and give our version so there are no misconceptions as to what happened. Evaluate their performance every three months so they don't become corrupted.

Dugan worked directly for Beatrice Cuello before he got promoted. Did we forget that? While they made the movement to these new Units and the loss of personnel in the Patrol Divison that he oversees, he was with them. He sat in those meetings and still do. Are you insane idiot!

Just woke up from hanging out at Bourbon street and am happy to see all the interesting posts here today. Thanks to all of you that celebrated with us. Now to Dugan. Dugan is about looking out for Dugan only. His first Adminstrative Lieutenant Mc Naughton got promoted to Captain from inside and on to Commander of 016. That District should not even be a District. His next Administrative Lt. Harmon who is a merit Lieutenant by the way, is telling everyone he is getting promoted to Commander in the next rounds, and not to a District. Cuello's stuttering boy who I guess is a direct reflection of her, will be next to make Lieutenant. You can bet your next dollar on that. Her husband will also be promoted before the summer is out. I really enjoy drinking with your suck ups. It is almost more amusing than reading the shit I see on SCC.
