009 Shooting
A 21-year-old man was hospitalized after being shot by police Tuesday night in the Brighton Park neighborhood, according to authorities.
The incident happened about 10:30 p.m. near Mozart Avenue and 42nd Street, when two men approached plainclothes gang officers flashing gang signs, according to a police statement.
One of the men drew a handgun and fired at the officers, who returned fire, hitting one of the men, police said. That man was taken to a hospital. The extent of his injuries was unclear.
A gun was recovered at the scene...
Officers are fine.

There will be some scrambling rats under the big top when some bosses kids get shot this summer as the streets go up for grabs. Stand by, masters , and a hearty "semper FU."

The mayor wants to eliminate 34% of the street sweepers to save money and go to a grid system. Great idea! Why you're at it eliminate some more waste. If the city can get by with 34% less sweepers then we can also cut 34 percent of the aldermen and their slush funds. 33 aldermen is better than 50. It's still at least 8 too many but at least it's a step in the right direction.
Here's to hoping he doesn't make it.

I hope that was meant as sarcasm from a second city cop (no pun intended). 009 has been and IS ghetto. You got sd's and kings in bridgeport, some of the same assholes plus a few extra ones in c-ville to the south, then you got new city that borders englewood, back of the yards on 47th, and on the west end of 009 you got brighton park and part of crown town. So yea that seems like a pretty fucked up district if you ask me.

If there was someone in custody, sure let the det. stay till its done. You A/2 guys are something else! You not gonna have other chances to make overtime? No, 009 is not as bad as those districts all the time. But, please feel free to stop by during the summer and help clear the "block party" at 2am at 52 may or 54 Laflin, etc, etc and let me know if it's any different than 004, 006 011, 007 etc.
