Guns Found

  • Federal agents today discovered a cache of weapons they suspect were stolen from the Harvey Police Department’s gun range, officials said.

The weapons were found in a wooded area near 148th and Rockwell in the south suburb, officials said.

“After some really awesome investigating this afternoon, many of the stolen weapons were recovered, along with many other items that were stolen out of the gun range,” Harvey spokeswoman Sandra Alvarado told reporters. A citizen’s tip led to the weapons, she said.

Yeah, let's steal guns and leave them in the woods. No one will suspect a thing and when the heat dies down...

She could have said that better.

"We was investigatin and right quick found that shit joe"

"Dude, we investigated the fuck out of that"

"Distinguished ladies and gentlemen of the press, I must commend my officers on their investigation which was, if I may say so myself, nothing short of kick fucking ass"

That's funny...this is the first time I've heard any mention of the "many other items that were stolen out of the gun range".

Me thinks Sandra Alvarado let a bit more out to the media than she should have.

Lastly..."After some really awesome investigating...". ??? How old is this chick, anyway? It seems the professionalism exhibited by Harvey's spokeswoman is right on par with that of the Harvey Police Department.

Don't know if you saw this yet. Your island of insanity is now even more isolated:

Good News, for a change!

30 Mar 10

State of Iowa going "Shall Issue."

This from friend there:

"'Shall Issue' bill Passed both the Iowa House (80-15) and Senate (44-4), as you can see, by large margins.

The Governor is expected to sign, and it will become law on 1 January 2011.

Among other things, Iowa will go from recognizing no out-of-state CCW permits to recognizing all!"

Comment: We're on a roll!

The investigating to which she refers was probably finding both a pencil and someone there who knew how to write and having them jot down the citizen's tip.

"Some really awesome investigating"

Reminds me of the "Honorable Mention" board in the old 16th district. "You responded to a radio call of a suspicious man in an auto and upon arrival you arrested him for attempted auto theft."

How dumb to have weapons stored in an off site building with no alarm system. You are asking the bad guys to come and get their free gifts.

The half-torn off metal gate to the range laying in a puddle inspired real confidence in the security of the installation, as did the untrimmed weeds obscuring the crooked, peeling "Police! No Trespassing!" sign. All those blue plastic barrels made the place look like a typical abandoned South Side toxic waste site.

The Burr Oak Cemetery of shooting ranges...

Just heard on WBBM radio that they recovered "a half-dozen" guns. Doesn't that leave fifteen or so?

More serious, current-military-caliber weaponry went out the door from the Harvey PD range than came in the door in Chicago's entire gun turn-in. This is something both municipalities can be proud of...

No. You've got it all wrong.

They already realized how silly it was and decided to hide them in the woods where no one would even think to look for them!
