Did this really happen last night?
- The taste is out of control. Last minute call to RDO tact/gang/tru and Msf to work days then keeping them till the end of the night. Think it could have something to do with the fact that there is rap groups on stage at the bandshell?
Someone else mentioned that the Tact Order we talked about earlier this week was rescinded when someone at HQ realized that Tact Teams were the backup plan in case the Taste goes south this year? Is that true?
And did any of this disaster-in-progress contribute to the downfall of Dugan? We predicted (along with many of our readers) that some heads were going to get chopped off over the public flogging J-Fled administered via the Pax 501 regarding Captain and Lieutenant reassignments being sent out via "unapproved" channels.
This Department feels like the Titanic, except somebody raised her from a watery grave and ran her into the iceberg again just to see if they could sink her any better than the first time.

Worked last night, the crowd was under control mostly older and families just very large. Was a good idea to hold over days just in case and no one was complaining about making all that OT. The only issue I saw was people getting pissed because they closed the concert area because it was full and Critical Mass shutting down LSD for about 10 min. Other than that just the normal taste. After the concert the field was cleared pretty quickly and no one gave us a hard time at all.
Dan Dugan may be abrasive and I may not agree with everything he says or does, but of the upper echelon of this department he's the one who best knows what he's doing and has the best handle on how to do it.
What a slap in the face. Not only to him, but to the Department.
EB and DD are the real police and I would work for either one. I guess politics is more important than running a good police department always will be but EB will not hurt this department.
can NOT wait to the first weekend it does not storm... we have been living in a rainforst this summer, every weekend there has been storms rolling threw, yet there still manages to be 50++++ shootings. If the weather could hold out for one warm weekend iam sure we would hit a new record
For jody weis to be able to keep his job his salary ought to be reduced to a minus $310,000 a year. he pays the city of Chicago the $310k to stay here, in three years it is a wash, he has worked for free and will have thoroughly destroyed the Chicago Police Department.

Wasn't out of hand. Just over crowded at Butler field. Probably wasn't the best call by Keating to close all the entrances & exits to the field. Most of the crowd in Butler field was older. I didn't see a lot of alcohol in there. I'm not aware of any real issues (fights, 10-1's, etc.). The officers assigned there did a great job and showed a lot of restraint.

The folks running the TASTE are clueless. There will be violence at the fest this year because clueless people are in charge. Set up entrances and exits ahead of time not during the actual fest. Changes are being made every 5 mins and no one knows how long that last change will last. Bosses walking and riding around have no clue what chaos they are causing. What a real joke. Mayham was averted when people exited the Bandshell to get food or bathroom break and were not allowed back inside where their family and personal belongings were located. This was the idea of some boss with a big brain!Hmmmmmmmm

On a bright note, the West side was pretty quiet last night. Guess we know where everyone was.
As far as MSF goes, working RDO's for the taste was offered about a week ago.
Any smart law abiding citizen of any color should avoid the taste. A lot of the decent suburbs have their own small "tastes" and fests, fuck the regime that brought Chicago to this point, let the bangers have the taste, let em walk around all day and evening drinking the 40s they brought with and buying little or nothing. If Dugan was removed for the increase in shootings, shouldn't Peterson be removed for the huge decrease in the clearances?

Both these punk bitches were - are NFG anyway.
Nothing was out of control. As always some issues could have been handled proactively, rather than reactively, but not out of control. Verbal direction and occasional motions toward the cuff-case were all that were needed. Still, it was a very long day.

Drove past the Taste twice today (Sunday). Didn't see huge crowds there. I'm willing to bet that Shortshanks won't see record crowds this year.
The suburbs have activities and events, and it is much safer!!! We have been Lucky because of the storms, and there stiLL was aLot of shootings. Like others have said, wait tiLL it stops raining.....
