Another Problem Fixed

Once again, the Department is using this "insignificant blog" to find problems and fix them:
  • I just wanted to drop a quick note to point out, once again, how "insignificant" the blog is. I sent you the photos of the 011th District female locker room and the human filth dripping from the ceiling. It's amazing...after YEARS of complaints and exposure reports, the department did nothing to fix this health hazard. Yet 2 weeks after the photos of said filth were posted on the blog, the locker room was finally cleaned up. Of course it's not a perfect job, but they did paint over the poop and replace the ceiling tiles where the leaks were coming from. Thank you so much for your insignificance!
Similar to the cracked and failing support column in Area 2, this appears to be another "slap a coat of paint/plaster/concrete over the problem and move on" type fix. We suppose if your stuck using an excrement coated locker room, any fix is better than looking at what's running down the walls.

Anyone else have something that needs fixing? Anyone want to bitch about the collapsing Fifth Floor at Headquarters? Or is Masters (Masters Masters) still racing his Hot Wheels car collection down the five degree slope?

Hey! Let's not forget the gate covering the front desk of 003 along with the electronic door installed in the rear of the station. After the infamous 'imposter' episode there, J-Fled talked about handing out time to everyone connected with that incident. It was revealed that a previous commander there had requested all the improvements that have since been implemented in 003 when a distraught man came into the station, approached the desk and pointed a handgun at an SOS officer who was completing a report. When that previous report surfaced (and intentions were made to make that report public, which the Dept. never acted on), the improvements were made, including an electronic door at the rear of the station.

P.S. Does anyone remember all the unsecured stations that were ordered to post an officer at those unsecured rear doors for all three watches after the imposter incident? It was probably cheaper to install those secured doors now, since everyone knows tha manpower to keep up that detail simply doesn't exist anymore!

If this is true, please post about 003 being probably the only district where you have to pay to use the weight room. The equipment is so old people probably wouldnt use it anyways, but its worth a shot!

The building engenier has been notified"I wonder if he has? Or maybe the mayor cut his budget also!

The painters are at 019/A3 too. I haven't seen anyone lay a brush of paint ot a wall there in years. They are slopping Rustoleum on the columns outside, they are not fixing the corrosion at the base of those columns however, just painting it. After they finish painting the crews will come to repair corrosion underneath the fresh paint.

The fitness room in 003 is simply a disaster. Previous commander was promised a new weight room by the academy when Tobias ran things there, but they never made good on it. If you get cut on anything while working out there, make sure you get a tetanus shot!

Word was that the massive cracks in the walls and structure of 001 were going to be repaired but so far nothing. During the big storm the other night with tornado sirens blaring I felt like I would probably be safer outside 001 than in.

This is partially true. The equipment that was supplied by the department is old. However the new equipment that is there was bought with the monies collected by officers from 003. If the department was to provide new epuipment then we wouldn't have to buy our own.

How about the SWAT sgt's tryouts. In the past (for PO's) during swat school if you weren't meeting expectations you were kicked out. Those who made it through were ranked and put on a list. Well, all the sgts who passed all the new requirements made it through swat school. One major problem came up. Ray Ray wanted to defer going to swat to continue doing his Policy Group thing. Oops, if they all passed and Ray Ray deferred then they would have to skip over him and go to the next sgt. Then there would be no guarantee that he would have a spot back on swat. All of the sudden they decide that after swat school is over that some of the sgts failed the school. Just enough to preserve the spot for Ray Ray. Isn't an open, transparent, fair selection process grand.

C'mon, you can see what Hamilton is doing. He wants to continue doing the Policy Group thing and keeping his nose close to the chairs propping up Masters Masters Masters and J-Fled. But if the WEISel gets tossed out by Shortshanks, Ray and co. know they're on the chopping block, so he wants to preserve a spot for himself in SWAT if/when the Supt. goes and the next Supt. disbands that stupid Policy Group. This has been a common tactic with Masters, the entitled are allowed to keep their feet in multiple units, depending on how certain scenarios play out.
