Aldercreatures Offended?

  • President Obama’s royal send-off for Rahm Emanuel may have played well in Washington today, but it laid an egg at Chicago’s City Hall.

Some aldermen were downright offended by what they perceived to be Obama’s attempt to dictate Chicago’s next mayor by praising his departing chief of staff to the hilt.

Others went so far as to advise the president of the United States to butt out or risk a political backlash.

Obama is well on his way to losing 80 seats for his party in the House and almost 10 in the Senate. We don't think he's sweating any aldercreatures being offended.

If the aldercreatures are truly offended, stop dropping out of the race for mayor. Slap Rahm around a bit. Start campaigning before he does. Sleaze him up - you know he cut off JJJr at the knees. You think he isn't compiling dossiers on potential challengers at this very moment? Start the attack now and don't wait for him to hit town.

Oh wait, this is all theater anyway, right? Shortshanks is still pulling the strings? Never mind.

Hope you were promoted to lieutenant, sarge, but regardless, couldn't you update, or close, the site?

I hear that Emanuel is coming to Chicago to listen. Gerry Chico says he does not need to listen he already knows what we want (more of the same). I know no one will hear this but my two cents are this.

Kill clout, promote and hire each person on their ability. No one gets paid unless the work and contribute.

Frankly, I don't care what aldermen think. I lost faith in them when they supported slave reparations and banned goose pate.

They should find out the inside Washington dirt that got swept under the rug and get it out in the open.

The Aldercreatures make money no matter who is President, but they don't want RAHM pushing them around.

The whole thing is nothing more than mere political circus in its most base form. I think it particulary funny as a private citizen troller that this jerk, Rahm will be conducting a listening tour around the city this weekend. Hilarious! The Scum-Times has an ongoing pole with about a dozen and a half potential candidates that you can vote for as your favorite. They all suck. There is not one qualified "leader with integrity" in my opinion. They should have a category, None of the Above. I have a hunch such a category would garner more votes than any of the mopes listed on the poll. But as Sneed would write; that is just what me thinks.

Michelle Obama has been saying "got to get out of the White House" almost before she got into it; gossip now. is that she is threatening divorce if there's a second term. She was quoted at some dinner party as telling the French president's wife that the White House was a "hellhole," or words to that effect. It would seem that there is tremendous personal pressure on the President -- aside from the collapsing economy and everything else.

Emanuel, Axelrod, Summers -- "the power behind the throne" -- all fleeing. It is obvious that they know something is going to happen to Obama -- will not be re-elected? will not run again? -- and they are retreating, retrenching in their Chicago power base.

As Daley has ordained, they will work to cement Emanuel into Daley's "kingmaker" position; I don't know who they have in mind as the next President, but it would definitely be someone haimish, congenial, to their agenda...

Very large crowd will be coming to church/charter school; multiple porta-pots set up on street, huge tent erected, advertising in Spanish stores all up and down Grand Avenue. They are testing PA system now, loud enough to be heard over most of the planet. Don't know if event is tonight or tomorrow.

This bunch (Che Guevara flags in the past) pretty much does as they please. Don't know if there's a permit or police were informed but it might call for a plan. If this coincides with a big night at the banquet hall at Grand/Austin it will really be something.

Let's see how many "offended" alderpimps jump an'holla that Rahm hasn't resided in Chicago for a year. . However, "residency" is not "tenancy", the latter being more evident that one resides. As a city employee, one is required to reside, or occupy by tenancy? So how will they spin this, that one resides or holds residency and that there's a presumption of tenancy? If as a city employee one chose to occupy a residence outside the city, but maintained an UNoccupied / UNleased domicile within the city, would one be in compliance of city Residency rule? If one rented out a city home, vacated an city apartment, is it assumed that one wasn't returning anytime soon, (although sought to return in the future to change a fridge bulb) but forwarded mail, schooled children out of the city is proof that one has taken up tenancy elsewhere?
Albeit an election law requirement, could Rahm be opening a door to a city residency challenge?
I still wouldn't vote for him anyway, but would bet this might a campaign issue.

He kicks off with the "immigrant" thing.

"My father came to Chicago as an immigrant from Israel..."

He goes on to lie --

"Chicago's a world-class city today because of Mayor Daley's leadership. He deserves our appreciation."

Huh?

...and then...

"To be the city we want to be, we can't have gangbangers taking the lives of our schoolchildren."

But...but...the schoolchildren ARE the gangbangers. Mom too, and Dad -- if you could find him.

We got problems...

Yes, I think that is exactly what you should do.

There is a difference, you know. An elected official, like a representative of Senator does not lose his home residency because he is not living in Washington. Obviously his presence is required in D.C.. I'm pretty sure, but not positive, that this applies to an appointed Federal official, which Rahm is, as well. It makes no difference whether or not he rents out his house.

State sen Rickey Hendon just ran LtGov.

Neither Danny or Rickey have addressed the deaths of CPS students or the child sex trafficking/human trafficking prevalent in their wards.

Only Rahm andMoseley Braun seem like serious candidates.

As for Chico, his law firm has had questionable dealings with shady charactters and his hands may be dirty. Plus his plan to change admissions to City Colleges which would end up barring mostly minority students, who have been the backbone of City Colleges make him a creep.
