Pure Coincidence

  • An 18-year-old man was fatally shot Thursday night in the same area where his brother was also fatally shot earlier this month in the South Side's Chatham neighborhood, officials said.

At 6:35 p.m., police were called to a fight on the street at East 79th Street and South Cottage Grove Avenue, where they found the victim, police said.

The victim suffered multiple wounds to his chest and one to his leg, said [...], a police spokesman. He was taken in critical condition to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn [...].

    He died later, police said
A question though - does the Crystal Ball Unit take into account a family history of shooting deaths when making their predictions? We heard that the all powerful Huberman has a program for the "most likely to be shot" yearbook category that factors in some historical data like that.

You laugh now, but the Crystal Ball Unit is due for something big. Anytime now they will predict a crime. The smart money is somewhere south or possibly the west side. But keep that on the down low.

SCC, you really need to embrace technology here. The Predictive Analytics Unit's computer program can predict human emotion, gambling losses, jealousy and baby mama drama.

Haven't you heard of the Japanese vending machines which can predict what you'll order and make the choice for you? This is kind of like that, but better.

This program, along with cameras, can replace police knowledge and experience so that a five year wonder whose family contributes to the Daley political war chest can place limited resources where they're needed to prevent "outies" from occurring.

Add a little spin and some media cooperation and you'll have order on the streets. Now what do you suppose gets entered into this program to help it make its predictions? Well, that's beyond the comprehension of mere cops such as us. It needs a director with vast amounts of that police knowledge and experience to handle.

Huberman.. Pfft, another twerp. It's nice that they keep moving him around before he is anywhere long enough to get the blame for his incompetence.

OT- ANOTHER COMMANDER WHO HAS YOUR BACK; NOT!

From RSM:
...the 025 desk had some gang-bangers come in the other day asking "Damn, where my boy be at?" They wanted to know when their compatriot would be released from custody. Apparently when they didn't get the answer that they wanted, one of them told a male desk officer,"Man - fuck you!" The desk officer told the gang-banger to leave, and used some off-color language in order to get the offender to vacate the station.

All this was witnessed by the district commander, who then ordered the 3rd watch watch commander to issue a SPAR for the male desk officer.

Mind you, these gang-bangers came into the station, screaming, cursing and demanding - all the while witnessed by the D/C, and instead of backing up his desk personnel, he stood there and then decided to discipline his officer. The gang-bangers actually committed a misdemeanor crime: Criminal Trespass to State Property (they were ordered to leave the facility and remained in violation of the command). They should have been arrested, but instead a veteran officer was officially disciplined for trying to maintain a semblance of order inside the station.

The rank and file in 025 are none-too-happy about this turn of events. It shows a disregard and a callousness that is unbecoming from a district commander. To take the side of an obnoxious, police-hating gang-banger over your own desk officer is egregious; and is something, quite frankly, that I could see Jody P. Weis doing.

Morale is in the toilet precisely because of these types of knee-jerk responses from our leaders. Maybe if the desk officer had a LAPA card in his pocket, the SPAR wouldn't have been ordered.

I'm just saying.....

is commander of 25 a triple merit promoted command staff selection of jfled , he should've set the tone and locked that gang banger up for disturbing the operations of 25th district desk crew

Since they didn't use the crystal ball to view or stop this shooting. Maybe they should have used the expensive POD camera that sits right there. Maybe the crystalball and POD were down for repair.

I don't know if you're aware, but the chicago public schools actually pay the expeneses of individuals and their families to be "moved" for their own good. They pay relocation expenses etc. for the kids that are too big of a problem for them. They literally move them somewhere else so they're someone else's problem. I'm not talking to another city school. I'm talking down state or outta state.

Hmmm, I wonder if there might be more to this story. Of course if totally true, how smart is it to bend or break a rule while the D/C was there to witness it. Almost like calling him out. I can hear it now. "What's wrong with that asshole boss, he can't really expect us to follow the rules. What a jerk. Why in all my 2 years on this job, I have never seen anything like this." Crybaby.

Maybe if the desk guy wasn't afraid to lock some ahole gangbanger up he wouldn't be in that predicament. I don't argue with gangbangers when they break the law, I lock them up. That's why we get no respect on the street.

BTW, the Commander IS an ahole if that is really what happened.

Gangbanger should have been locked up and the DC now should be asked to provide a to-from as he is a witness to the SPAR. That to-from should follow him for the rest of his career. Politics will kill civilization.

Why didn't the commander of the 25th district take "command" of the situation if he was standing right there? Why didn't he order the gang-bangers out of the district and if they didn't obey the order, have them locked up?????
