Drew Peterson Wins One

We predicted this months ago. The powers that be are going to make him a rich man at some point:
  • A judge on Friday dismissed the illegal-gun charge against Drew Peterson, a decision his attorneys believe could help his son, an Oak Brook police officer suspended after testifying he took in Peterson's guns.

Peterson, a former Bolingbrook police sergeant, is being held on $20 million bond on charges he drowned his third wife in 2004. His son Stephen Peterson was suspended in August after testifying he hid two or three guns in his house shortly after Peterson's fourth wife, Stacy Peterson, disappeared in 2007 and shortly before police searched Drew Peterson's house.

Oak Brook officials said the heart of their case against Stephen Peterson is his decision to accept items from his father that he knew could be of interest to police investigators.

Interest how? As far as we know, none of Peterson's crimes involve a firearm. And this witch hunt against his son is just an abuse of power by authorities acting under the color of law.

And before we get the typical ill-informed trolls that claim we support Drew Peterson, we will state again for the record, we are of the opinion that Drew Peterson is guilty of any number of crimes, including the murder of one or more of his wives. But belief isn't proof. And lacking proof qualifies as reasonable doubt.

Remember that Oak Brook is also the home turf of Mr Xinos who called cops and firemen "street people"

Peterson's son gave the weapongs right up when ISP investigators came looking for them, he didn't hide squat.

They are also getting the son for taking a squad car to Joliet for a Grand Jury appearance, I'm quite certain he just didn't go and cleared it with (at least) a Sergeant.

The kid will be hitting the lawsuit lottery also.

Hey,

if he does get a drewload of money perhaps he can find himself a hot young wife.

Seriously, I think he is a sociopath and I hope ass cancer finds him very soon.

That being said thinking he is a sociopath and proving murder are two different things.

I'm with you on this, there isn't any proof, at least not yet, that he is guilty of murder.

I guess the lawyers will be busy suing any municipality they can for Drew and now his son.

Nothing has been proven against Peterson. The media is trying to convect him without a trial. Gun charges? Grasping at straws I guess.

I've heard from reliable sources that Drew Peterson's son is actually a stand up guy and a good police officer. He does not act anything like Drew, and has nothing to do with the Drew bullshit. Oak Brook P.D. is just one of those accredited departments that doesn't want to look bad in the public eye. I've heard it is a miserable department to work for. Drew's son is eventually going to hit the lottery and the Oak Brook taxpayers will be the one paying for it, because of the OakBrook administration. As much as I believe Drew is guilty, he is sadly going to get off, because ISP doesn't have a case that will hold up in trial and/or Appeal in my opinion.

........

I believe (I may be wrong)the kid took a 5 day suspension for taking the squad car. The States Attorneys Office is just messing with Drews kid via the OBPD just to put pressure on Drew.

Drew Peterson has "Possibly" committed all the crimes, he is suspected of, and "Possibly" more.
To compromise the rules of evidence, to find him guilty is wrong. To charge him, and his family, with any minor infraction, is wrong. To take away his FOID Card was wrong. The LAW and the Rules of Law must be obeyed, if we are to continue as a Democracy.
PS: That does not apply. if you are a minority, and have a attorney, who can play the "Race" card to your advantage.

Drew Peterson might just walk from this whole situation. The prosecution is trying to make a mountain out of a mole hill. I don't thing I've seen all of the evidence but when they try to sandbag him with a bullshit gun charge I think they are grasping at straws. I hope they aren't relying on Drew's idiot brother-in-law or what ever the relationship with that screwball.

Anyone can have an SBR (short barrel rifle) if you register it with ATF and buy the tax stamp. You must do this BEFORE taking possession of one, or converting a rifle to a shorty.
A nifty home defense gun. Very handy when the beast comes calling late at night.

lacking proof has nothing to do with reasonable doubt. Reasonable doubt is a trial verdict , lacking proof is relevant to charging of a crime.

It seems that there is not enough evidence to charge Drew peterson with murder so they are trying to use hersay of some sort to build a case. Now think about that. How many times do people lie about police now, just think if they (the lawyers, states attorneys)thought they could charge you with a crime everyting someone lied. Drew Peterson may be scum but that's not the point.

The ISP botched all of the death investigations.

I believe Drew will walk.

2 dead wives under very similair situations is more than just a situation or mountain. Something eventually will show up. In the mean time he got a taste of prison. Too bad he was not in the general population of a state prison. His kids have suffered enormous embarassment. His son's career will end.

Today it is him, tomorrow it may well be you or I. Whenever we compromise on the principal of the rule of law we compromise everyones freedom.

10:54am: Drew Peterson did it, we all know that.....but it has to be proven in court.

That is the whole basis of our system of justice. Just like when you articulate on a case and arrest report, you just can't say "the motherfucker did it" you have to lay out your evidence and your probable cause.

They (the authorities) haven't in Drew's cases. The BBPD screwed up the investigation of the third wife's death, even the ME's office at first said it was accidental. The ISP messed up with the fourth wife's case and the BS short barrel rifle case filed by the SAO was purely done out of either spite or ignorance.

The law passed just for the use of hearsay evidence in Peterson's case isn't going to pass muster through the courts. It flies in the face of everything we stand for and you should stand for as a PO.

I'm not defending Drew by a long shot, but going after his son on BS department charges isn't kosher with me.
