Bad News for Blago

Hopefully, nothing "happens" to Tony Rezko as he awaits the subpoena to testify:
  • Political insider Tony Rezko today pleaded guilty to fraud charges in connection with the sale of his pizza restaurants.

His attorney said Rezko is "ready and willing" to testify for the government at the retrial of former Gov. Rod Blagojevich.

[...] The plea change comes without a deal with prosecutors, who would not comment on whether Rezko was cooperating against Blagojevich. He was not called by prosecutors to testify against the former governor at his trial this summer. Rezko has yet to be sentenced for his 2008 conviction.
It sure would be fun if Rezko told everything he knew about Illinois politics.

Having gotten all the cash they can out of Blago, the father son team depart...(nothing like believing in your client right!)... now the Feds invoke the side deal they had with Rezko...'and you won't have to testify except if, but we don't think it will come to that.' Blago is toast and broke.....gotta love it! The next chapter of 'MEIN COIF' begins.

The Feds should give Robert Blagojevich immunity and then have him testify in-front of thr Grand Jury and then indict Jesse Jackson Jr.
That would help the City and if convicted his uncle, Noah Robinson, can be his mentor in the penitentiary!

It'll never happen. Anything that would make the current occupant of the White House look like he was criminally involved with ANYTHING will be swept under the rug and promptly forgotten about. Can you just imagine the fools rioting if the President were accused of anything from his days in Illinois?

Rezko might have done something illegal with President Obama, but it will never see the light of day. At least not while Mr. Obama is in office.

His testimony could topple the house of cards. It is no coincidence that a large portion of both the City Council and Organized Labor all pulled the pin at the same time. He could be our only hope to bring down Emanuel the Despot's campaign.

Didn't Blago's attorneys try to subpoena Rezko at the first trial? Now it's a flip? No wonder countries around the world reject our political system and beliefs. Maybe they are right, we should mind our own business

The Feds will never ask him the dangerous questions. Eric holder will not allow it.

WBBM Radio reporting that Rezko "is a pale shadow of his former self" after spending time in federal prison.

Must be rough, all that not laying around by swimming pools, your gold Rolex flashing as you reach out for another glass of champagne while you laugh at the bank collapses...

Oh, thank God those lawyers are gone. They're as bad as Blagojevich -- TALK and TALK and TALK at sixty per until the TV producer is frantically pointing at his watch and making "cut" signs at his throat because the hour is ending...

I still remember the cameras cutting off and the reporters "wrapping it up" outside Blagojevich's house the night he was fired, with him still on the porch talking his head off.

The best part was when the governor's security detail got into their cars, slammed the doors, and drove away -- never to return. A definitive moment. A tectonic shift. That crafty old rascal Mao-Tse-Tung was right -- "Power flows from the barrel of a gun." Just some guy in a jogging suit now. Oh, the fear he must have felt in the pit of his stomach.

Remember when they took the city "Baited For Rats" sign off the pole by Blagojevich's back gate because it was being shown on TV?

Memories...

to not indict JJ Jr; would show even more proof of a politically and racially biased Justice Department under eric Holder, a socialist and a racist, just like his boss.

Even though the charges were dropped he can still be subpoeaned to testify. Without immunity he could take the 5th and refuse to testify. Given immunity he would be forced to testify and testify truthfully or risk perjury charges.

@ 7:29PM

Robert Blagojevich can be immunized and forced to testify before a Grand Jury and then in court. If he declines to testify he can be charged with contempt of court and if he lies he can be charged with perjury. Those charges have nothing to do with the original case against him.

Now would it not be a coincident if they decided not to re-try Blago. or offer him a deal he could not refuse? You don't think Rham would walk into that do you?

If you think Fitzgerad is on the square, I gotta a bridge to sell you.

If blago gets convicted now he will blame his lack of lawyers. It would be good to see his wife get indicted now to get a guilty plea from the jerk and then the feds let his wife off with no prison.

I am so sick of blago. He's had way more than his share of time in the news. I just want to see his federal prisoner id number.

It's time for a new crop of Illinois politicians try and outfox the feds.
