Mt Sinai from 3000 on Addison? No closer trauma centers? Like Masonic which is about a 10 minute bambulance ride? Lutheran which is about 15? Gottlieb which is about 15 minutes from there?

I think they may have their facts wrong.

After the bike guys in 023 were hurt things ended up in 016 at Marmora and Dakin. A PO at that location sustained an injury. There was confusion weather the PO had been shot or not.

I believe that shots were fired by the police at the vehicle/offender when he attempted to kill a PO(s) by running him/her over with a vehicle.

From my understanding there were several squad cars struck by the offender's vehicle at multiple locations.

That's all I got.

On a side note, coming on the radio saying an officer is down is BS. As an old timer in the Academy told our class many many moons ago, the proper way to inform the dispatcher of an officer injured is to state what has happened. ie officer shot...officer hit by car...officer unconscious...officer down is tv drama.

Was on scene and the officers are doing great. They were struck by a drunk driver a m/4 with no license and no insurance. Neither officer were in critical condition. It was a mistake by the media. Both officers are going to be ok. Although it was a close call.

Word is to the two cops are called Starsky and Hutch for their bandit-style of policing, including making multiple stops of anyone they can on the northside and have gotten a lot of complaints against them..one complaint was by a 55 year old man and his father for being pulled over for not having enough air in its rear tires and causing the vehicle to be dangerous to others and then their car being searched as they were on the way to the hospital to visit the mother.....KARMA IS A BITCH!

Of course!! Now when these officers try to recoup trheir loses from their uninsured motorist coverage, the city will have their hand out for reimbursement of their medical fees.

(answer to 1st post)
We(CFD)will take you guys, our police brothers, whereever you want to go if you are able to express that (or your partner)and we are comfortable with it considering your condition. If you are critical or meet trauma criteria, we will take you to a trauma center(County, Mt Sinai, Loyola,Christ,Masonic,Lutheran) We have certain criteria and hospitals go on bypass. If we have multiple patients from the same incident we can't dump all the patients at one hospital. Alot is taken into consideration. Not knowing the facts, I can only offer to explain. I personally take an officer to the most appropriate hospital wanting him/her to get the best possible care taking into consideration what hospital I would want to end up in(or a family member)considering the specific injury/injuries. We just have to clear it with the resource hospital stating its CPD and that we are comfortable doing it. We do care about you guys, don't like to see you hurt, just wanted you to know........

having been there on what was a chaotic scene, officer down at the time was appropriate as no one knew if the p.o had been shot, had a heart attack or what and to guess would have provided misinformation to the zone...it was clarified a few minutes later that the po was not shot and had a leg injury....don't be a monday quarterback esp. as you were not there and had no idea as to what was going on at the moment the p.o was being attending to by his fellow p.os onscene until EMS arrived..all officers are ok and did a great job!

I would happen to believe that "Starsky And Hutch" post was offense to most police officers. Karma is a bitch so two p.o's deserve to get hit by drunk driver. Sounds like typical 017third watch nonsense. I assu,e who ever posted this must work the 30 sector or a 30 sector rapid. I really hope u dont get hurt because someomne will post about u bein a dog ass and whining about taking jobs. The workers in 017 are few and far between. if u are considered a worker than u are osterized by your fellow p.o's on the watch.

sometimes police officers make a mistake in the heat of the moment i.e. saying the wrong thing on the radio...I am sure that officer in the future will keep that in mind but let's not be too harsh people..the injured p.o was unconscious with blood coming out of his leg after multiple shots fired....so was it possible that he had been shot? Yes...I think she was just trying to get EMS there as fast as possible to help her brother in blue so let's give it a rest..that same P.O. was a witness to the offender trying to murder two police officers with his car as they shot at the offender so let's ease up with second guessing her..enuff said!!!

I wouldn't limit it to the 3rd watch 30 sector.....
95% of all watches in that district are some of the most pathetic lazy do nothing pretend cops that you ever could imagine. It's disgusting.
