Bad News
This guy has been gone for 8 years, but he's still being used to cast a bad light on the Department:
A now-retired Chicago Police officer gave false testimony in a 1999 narcotics trial of a man sentenced to more than 17 years in prison, federal prosecutors alleged Monday.
Glenn Lewellen, 54, of Las Vegas, also was involved in a 2003 kidnapping in which 100 kilograms of cocaine was stolen — and he tipped off a major drug ring about federal investigations, according to a newly unsealed indictment.
He had already retired in 2002 when this last incident occurred. But he's still CPD according to the media reports and we'll get all the bad press to go with it.

Jon Burge retired in 1993, & he was the recipient of bad press for18years!
Sounds more like he left before he had twenty on. Doesn't sound like 'retired' is accurate.
Just gets worse:

Glenn was always a nice guy...this is a shocker.
Some of his buddies are still in the same unit.

Bullshit. You are either a criminal or you aren't. He is and was. Now he can rot with his peers.
Glenn was a good guy, but if found guilty, I hope he gets life in prison.
Worked with Glen in the 9th District great guy good copper it's very hard to believe
Some think the narcotic unit is their own private bank account. Like the guy, several years ago, who tried to buy into the Emerald Casino with 1 million dollars. All of his friends said "hey yo, yo, great guy, ya know", I met the guy after he retired at a burglar alarm at a high priced jewelry store where he turned off the phone in the middle of the night and burglars made off with plenty. He got fired. Now show me how this goof was able to accumulate one million dollars for a piece of a casino with an IQ of 7. Maybe it was his education in narcotics.
The Love of money is the root of all evil.Remember that boys and girls.
Is he related to Doug Lewellen of People's Court fame? Just asking.
Was he assigned to the 009th district during the early 90s ?
100 kilos of cocaine?
Retired after 16 years?
Horse shit...
He jumped before he could get pushed.
I dont think he is retired I think he just resigned and got a pension refund

I think the post was trying to say what alot of us feel. The Glen we knew as a police officer was a hard working intelligent gentleman. That is the last we knew of him and that is why it seems shocking to many.
Did he always live a double life and fool many of us? Did he wake up and decide to go to the other side one day? Who knows.
