One Minute, Shorthanded - The Next...

....even more shorthanded.

It seems an order was drafted and sent out to the districts Saturday evening that detailed another 50 or more officers from their units and sent them to MSF the next day - after the sheets were made for Sunday.

So across the city, watch commanders were short two, three, even more officers from what they had already made the schedules for.

Nothing like a little warning, eh?

Aside from the fact that it violates the FOP contract, it has to violate some BOP Special Order.

This isn't an emergency, why is it so important to do it before change day and within hours. Is there something we don't know about, but will? Such as massive civil unrest coming because of Tuesday's election?

The list is a joke too. I do not mean to diminish the accomplishments of some of the officers on the list, but let's face it, there is a ton more deserving officers that applied to MSF. You have people from 014 and 018 that never set foot in the hood. Throwing them in areas like 007,008 010, 011, 015. They won't have a clue, it'll be like they're PPOs all over again.

For any of you idiots that gave a second thought to putting in applications for OCD, or having some boss move you to their "non-bid" unit, think again!

With this much proof of the minute by minute porck fucking downtown is pulling on anyone who's NOT covered by contract only a complete fucking retard would even consider going to any non biddable unit unless they were willing to be immediately deployed OUT of that unit into MSF or TRU.

Don't fall for any of their bullshit supposedly "open" units they advertise!

These assholes are merely trying to get people OUT of their assigned biddable district so they can fuck them over in a heartbeat and move them where they want.

60 open spots at the academy? Fucking BULLSHIT there are..... anyone who goes there is gonna be dumped to MSF against their will.

Spots open in OCD? BULLSHIT there are!! Be prepared to get detailed within a couple periods over to MSF against your will!

FUCK THESE ASSHOLES!!! DON'T APPLY FOR SHIT, DON'T VOLUNTEER FOR SHIT, DON'T ASK A BOSS TO MOVE YOU TO ANOTHER UNIT AND CERTAINLY DO NOT GIVE UP YOUR PROTECTED BID SPOT!!!

5 Dead, 21 Hurt In Halloween Weekend Shootings

November 1, 2010 7:49 AM

CHICAGO (CBS) - Fear on Halloween is supposed to revolve around skeletons, ghosts and slasher costumes, but this past weekend, a rash of shootings put Chicagoans under a fear of real danger.

At least five people were killed, and at least 21 more were wounded, in shootings over the weekend in every region of the city.

The Englewood, Woodlawn and Uptown neighborhoods were hit particularly hard.

You think you learned anything from all those "Obstructing Traffic Non-Motorist" arrest you have done? You think working in "The Zone" for 4 years made you super cop? So when you realize that your not in Yuppiville and there is no Damen/North/Milwaukee in 007, you can come talk to me. I'll be sitting watching all the young tail I can over on Chicago Street, keeping the pretty girls safe. We are each others' worst enemy, downing each other from the districts we come from. Whether we come from a super busy district or a slow one, bottom line we all put our lives on the line daily for a city that doesn't give a shit about us. Look at Francis, killed in the line of duty right in front of his district. Keep all the hating and discriminating. Good luck to all you newly recruited msf, keep your guard up always and remember in can happen anyware being disarmed. Be safe all and Rip Francis.

Aside from the fact that it violates the FOP contract, it has to violate some BOP Special Order.

So our neighborhoods, which we pay a ga-zillion in taxes for, which is already short police service is going to loose even more.

Don't complain to Downtown Ernie Brown, Shorty will squeeze his ingrown testicles if he said this is wrong. He can't do shit about this.

Complain to your alderman, have your neighbors complain to your aldermen.

This would be especially effective if there was a very large voter turnout in the productive citizen wards and they helped to elect Republicans across the board.

Stay safe. Call your alderman and bitch like hell and VOTE!

Am I missing something? Who the fuck would want to go to MSF? I assumed these recent spots were filled by reverse seniority, but based on these comments it sounds like guys have been competing to get there. Why? Was at a shooting a few weeks ago where guys from MSF fled the scene with the pistol. Idiots were so excited to find a pistol they took off to the station with it. Fucking stupid. I've met one guy from that unit who knew what the fuck he was doing and it sounded like he was trying to get out. If you're a young guy new to that unit be careful. Sounds like alot of poor decisions being made there.

O.T.
I saw a fax today that effective 11Nov 10 there's no more O'Hare special employment. Did we not just have a legitimate terrorist threat using airplanes to ship bombs to Chicago synagouge's ? Is this really a prudent thing to do right now? What the hell is this city/dept. thinking?
Sorry just answered my own question. We are so fucked.
Maybe the fancy predictive analysis unit has predicted no more terrorist threats for O'Hare!

11/01/2010 02:56:00 PM

Perhaps you missed the huge BID to O'Hare? Or the entire post devoted to it here on SCC?

With O'Hare fully staffed, there's no need for special anymore.

You have my sympathy; O'Hare special bought my stainless steel appliances. But that was then and this is now.

The college guys and some generals at 35th St went out to the branch courts and saw all the No PCs on the small drops. That's why we're in MSF today.

Be safe, be the police, and look for guns. Every gun we recover is a gun that won't hurt another officer.

OT:

John 'Quarters' Boyle out of prison, back in Chicago

Inside the halls of power

November 1, 2010

BY TIM NOVAK Staff Reporter

John "Quarters'' Boyle -- a heavy-equipment operator for the city of Chicago who was convicted of taking bribes from companies that wanted in on City Hall's Hired Truck Program -- is out of prison and back in Chicago.

Boyle did more than five years of the seven-year prison sentence he got after pleading guilty and refusing to testify against his friends. Boyle, 50, is now on home confinement until New Year's Day.

Happy Holidays John.

The real question is, what will "Quarters" do now that Mayor Richard M. Daley no longer needs a bagman.

Maybe Rahm could use the skills of a bagman that doesn't tell and is stupid enough to keep doing it.

Maybe the Emerald Society can make him man of the year for all of his dirty work on behalf of the Irish thieves. God knows they kiss this POS's crooked ass hard enough at the gin mills in Edison Park.

"The list is a joke too.

11/01/2010 12:28:00 AM"

LET ME GUESS, YOU'RE THE CHICAGO SUPER COP! GOOD FOR YOU! DUMB ASS!
Let me see you were born to be the Super cop, so even in your PPO status you already knew what to do and was better than any coppers out there with time on the job. IDIOT!

Is there anybody in MSF who doesn't act like their shit doesn't stink? I mean, c'mon I'm new to the unit and you all act like you're God Himself. WTF!! No wonder district po's hate the Unit. I should have stayed in my district. 90 day detail is waaaay too long.

11/01/2010 03:56:00 AM"

Oh, just came out of the last 90 day detail. Never had any complains working there, It's really not that bad. So shut up and do your job. Be glad you have one. I guess your one of those pre-madona douchebags tact guys in the district. Show them what you can give first before you ask for anything. Should I ask them to lay a red carpet for you?

Why do cops who work in the ghetto think that they are the real police and everyone else is from Mayberry? The real working police knows how to deal with all kinds of people and look for crime instead of it jumping in your backseat! This job is about backing each other up and dealing with people, not just making dope arrests!

Because if you ever worked in a "ghetto" or "working district" you would know the difference.

You say you can you actually have to "look for crime" in slower districts? Really? How hard is it to pick the bad guy out, of a bunch of yuppies? Not that hard. Trying picking a robber out when everyone is wearing white t's or black hoodys. it's a lot different.

Really big man you were on scene...tell me where did this alleged shooting take place? Excitedly ran back to 15? Guns don't excite me anymore cowboy. If it was a crime scene why did the 15th district hard chargers let the gangsters run out the back while they were going in the front. It's true MSF found the pistol after numerous officers( from different units/districts) walked right past it thank God no one was hurt. You should be more disappointed in the tactics of all officers involved instead of taking potshots without all the information. If you did any kind of police work on scene you would have discovered dude got hit over the head with a bottle. The spent shell casing found inside the "social club" was not even the same caliber as the weapon recovered. Numerous shootings in the area that night you going to try to put this pistol on someone? That's why weapon was inventoried and held for investigation. As for the 65 yr old "owner" that was locked up....momma caught a case. Congrats you put a real criminal in jail that night. The only truth to your statement "... lot of poor decisions being made there" sums up the department in general. Stay safe officer it sounds like you've learned everything there is to learn on this job I wish you well.

Handle the paper. Let MSF recover the weapon where your fellow 15th dist officers stood by the area for 15 mins and didn't even search. There is your safety concern. Now handle the paper and beat it.
