Bears to Play or Relax?

Green Bay needs the win to control their own destiny. The Bears already have a bye and home field for the first round - but it's Green Bay and they'd love to play spoiler along with sweeping the division.

All the betting is Green Bay by 9 to 10 points.

The game obviously means everything to the Pack and little to the Bears.

But the Bears should use the game as an opportunity to tune up their defense that has given up 85 points in the last 3 games. The Pack passing offense should be a good test.

The Bears should go into the game with a playoff mentality. Going in easy they may not be able to turn it around in the "one & done" season.

The rest of the teams in the NFC playoffs would happier if the Pack were out.

The only reason the bears have a decent record is because so many other teams suck this year. Just look at what New England did to those losers. They will be done after their first playoff game,

Shots fired at police, but no one injured
January 2, 2011 2:44 AM | No Comments
Shots were fired at police early this morning in the South Chicago neighborhood, police said, but no one was hurt and the shooter escaped.

At 12:44 a.m., police responded to a call about a man with a gun in the 8600 block of South Marquette Avenue, according to police News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro. Once there, someone fired shots at the police before evading law enforcement and leaving the scene.

No one was hit, Alfaro said, and at least 19 shell casings were found on the street.

Calumet Area detectives are investigating.

The one upside the Bears have in winning would be to knock out a Pack team that has been on a roll lately. (I'm assuming the Falcons can handle the Panthers and will have the Bears locked into the 2 seed by kickoff)

They should play all out the rest of the way, as if they'll be eliminated with another loss.

But they'll pull all the starters either at the quarter or half time mark.

That's a Lovie tradition. Why would he change up now?

The Packers will beat the Bears by seven (7) points.

As we predicted, the first murder of 2011 occurred on Beat 2022.
