Funny Quote
A tip led Chicago police late Sunday to a West Side warehouse where they seized an estimated $700,000 of high-end marijuana. One person was taken into custody.
Police executed a search warrant at the warehouse at 5101 W. Lake St., which they described as an unlicensed auto body shop.
Harrison District tactical officers found about 115 pounds of marijuana, and also seized eight handguns and a shotgun from the shop and the home of the shop's owner, police said. One of the guns was stolen. Police also found a quantity of ammunition.
"Our tactical guys had a better day than the Bears," said Sgt. Edward Sullins. "We were able to develop information from a source and obtain a search warrant. Our guys found a large amount of high-end pot, probably worth just under $1 million on the street." Police later lowered that estimate to $700,000.

P.O.'s were working? I thought everyone would've been glued to a tv set. They're not Bears fans!
"Maui Wowie" or California Humboldt County sinsemilla?
One toke shit?
a number of so-called 'body shops' throughout the city are just fronts for drug dealers, chop shops and other criminal/mob activities. If the licensing commission would take a small group of officers and drop in on all of them periodically for license checks, there's no telling how much illegal contraband and wanted felons they would discover in these bullshit business fronts (not to mention expired or non-existent city licenses). Why this isn't done more is indeed a mystery, when the City is so hard up for revenues.
How do they know it's high-end reefer, did JP Weiss smoke some already ? Was it fully analyzed by the Crime lab already ? B.S. It's just typical stink-weed.. Might even be Indiana Hillbilly ditch-Weed. Jody's jokers are trying to get their ratings up again. Blah, Blah.....

Big fuckin' deal. Legalize cannabis and tax the bejesus out of it.
Well its no shocker Ed Sullins was front and center with the media present, he likely called them himself. Ask him how it all went down, he'll tell you it was all him. Does he still take credit for crime dipping like he did in A/1?
Eddie Sullins may be a media whore but the beat guys in 015 did a good job last night. 025 responds to a man shot on North Ave.and sends a flash upon arrival. A while later two beat guys from 015 see the car and the chase is on. They chase dude into 013 where he crashes. 015 captures one of the offenders along with the gun. The other dude fled. Nice job, 015.

Ed's an arrogant meathead, but his heart is always in the right place. Not many white shirts left that back up the PO's, he's one of them.

Why is he in Plainclothes and his guys in uniform??

It's pretty obvious why. The people running the city are in bed with the criminal element. Been that way in Chicago since the late 1800s.
Isnt that the bullshit biker club? you know... the one that claims to be a CPD club but is nothing more than a few coppers acting out their childhood obsession with criminal behavior and rubbing elbows with more convicted felons than a defense attorney at 26th/California? Or sorry, it was weed, not meth!
Sgt Sullins "When I was in 7 we'd......" lol

You must be jealous, Ed always was and still is the real police.

you're thinking about the wrong revenue stream.

...not to mention the sudden explosion in "wedding gown" stores. Belmont/Central, Elmwood Park...
The City of Chicago was always busier harassing the small manufacturers along Northwest Highway -- at least until many of them were forced out in favor of condominiums which produce nothing...
Sullins is the best copper in the world...just ask him
I've been rewatching 'The Wire' recently.
There's a great line there from one of the characters when he says "I wonder what it's like to work for a real police department".
I wonder what it would be like to work in a sane criminal justice system.
You know a system that treats drug use as a public health issue and not a criminal issue.
A system where violent mentally ill nutjobs with a prior history of violence are committed to an institution where they can't harm civilians or police.
That would be a system that would focus on violence, theft, and public corruption more than worrying about someone smoking a joint somewhere.
How many billions of dollars are spent yearly on the drug war?
How many billions are spent ferreting out public corruption?
Methinks the Daleys of the world like that ratio.
Ha Ha Ha- Sullins or his team were merely just support. He took credit for information nobody on his team gathered. I feel sorry for his team being supervised by a goof!
E.S. never fails to take credit for eveything. I don't understand how the police dept can run without him. He thinks he's everything! Ed, think again - you and your over bloated ego!
Big fuckin' deal. Legalize cannabis and tax the bejesus out of it.
Hard to tax a weed that will grow just about anywhere.
Anti-violence speaker charged with domestic battery in Tinley Park.
Well if that don't beat all!
The priority should be violent crime not the doobie brothers.
Hard to tax a weed that will grow just about anywhere.

that's why it remains a controlled substance.
Easy now, ES has a heart of gold and I never heard him talk badly about anyone. He is missed in 610. And, he almost lost his life in the Middle East. Betcha' didn't know that. Most are just jealous of him, because of his successful acting career in the "Indiana Jones" triology.

Leave the Sgt alone! Ed's a good boss and always goes to bat for his guys. I remember the good days when Ed,Shannon Jasica, Rick Lombard all work as Sgts on mids in 007 it was the fun. One thing we all know is that cops are type A personalities. A cop will always try and comment or Monday night quaterback another officer. Its what we do its what makes us competitive. It's great his team got press time. To many times as cops our work gets over looked. Who cares how they developed the information. Good job 11 tac
Slightly off topic:.
It seems Penelope beleives she is a "COVERT COMMANDER" who drives around in her personal car following "ON DUTY " units in her PERSONAL VEHICLE!.
It is being reported that henny penny was in her PERSONAL VEHICLE and spotted beat 11XX at Belmont and western and decided to come up on the radio and find out the status of this unit. Well I am sure henny penny thought she had this unit for being out of the district but she forgot that it is qualification time. It is also reported that she was spotted driving around the "north end" of 011 and "checking the status" of units thru the zone while in her PERSONAL VEHICLE.
Somebody care to inform henny penny that using your personal vehicle while on duty for any police act is strictly prohibited by General Order! Or does that not apply to the "chosen exempt" who think they are above the law?
Let me see her in her personal vehicle following me and I will slam the brakes so hard to make sure she hits me.
Then what will she say she was doing?
By the way.

A better day than Collins, anyway -- threw a couple of interceptions, got pulled right back out, and in the process injured his shoulder and might need surgery...
Poor guy. He looked to me like someone who'd put a quarter in an amusement park ride that turned out to be a LOT rougher than he'd espected...

This comment brings me back to being in the Army in Europe in the early 70's. Those were some GOOD times.
Ed Sullins is a great guy, I 've known him for years. I know for a fact, he will back you up in a heart beat without any hesitation. He served our country as well. It is a shame so many people on this job love to talk sh#t behind someones back, yet lack the courage to say it to their face. What a bunch of haters! Ed, consider all this shit talking a compliment. People have nothing better to do than talk about you. Your a good guy in my book. YWBB!!
another funny quote from those guys that operate the traffic copters. Suburbs were chasing a stolen cab and the traffic copters were following. Whenthe chase neared chgo pilots said "This will be over soon, CPD will wrap this up in a min. or two." sure enough, cabthief cracks up cab in Evanston runs into Chgo and gets tackled by CPD. Pilot says "We could've used that copper on Sunday that's for sure.."
