This has popped up a few places. Someone is trying to start something:
- J-FLED and Masters X 3 offices cleared. Drivers told to 'pick a 'District'. Is this the light at the end of the tunnel?
Perhaps some of our 35th Street people can check this out. We don't imagine there will be any movement for the next 10 weeks, but we've been wrong before.

dude from 35th street wound up in 011...saw him today (Friday) for the first time. OUT OF HIS OWN MOUTH he says they are cleaning house at HQ, and he was living proof. I wont out him here, but hes on 3W and has a hispanic last name...funny thing was watching him try to sign out a ticket book - priceless!!! welcome to what all of us beat slugs have to deal with, friend.

WTF He moved his driver, his secretary, his assistant and his other staffers to UNITS not Districts. Only movement was Bids and his people citywide. Details cancelled for assignments galore! Rahm if you are looking for his people, Jfed made it easy for you, he left you the complete list!
This might be true. From the looks of the transfer order. It appears that some, if not all of his drivers got nice spots in Unit 606!
Please leave J-Fled and take that jerk Masters with you too.
So none of Jfleds staff had to fill out an application and undergo an interview with the commander of the unit they were sent to?
Jfled always said specialized units must announce their openings to give everyone in the department a fair chance to get into the unit.

Yes, you do. When there is an opening.
The FOP can't address where the openings are, only the terms than an officer may bid to a spot. If the city wants to man certain districts, that is one way to do it. Either you stay where you don't like it or go to a shit district for the time being. There hasn't been openings for "nice" districts in well over a year. Some districts haven't had openings in almost two years.
That is how the city can restrict movements.
I don't know about the offices being cleared yet but the drivers were told to pick a district. Hopefully MS is coming back.
We will have an acting super by Tuesday! They will not extend Weis' contract, they can save money by letting #2 do the job till Rahm makes his selection. You heard it here first!!
Mayor elect told the Supt to get out and take he people with him
they were on transfer order placing them in units ensuring no one will screw with them when it's time. They will/can stay at headquarters on a detail until JFled leaves then the only place they can go is their units of assignments. This is the way it's always been done. Jfled's secretary went to Asset Forfeiture and his driver to Det. Div. WOW!
While I agree that any unnecessary people should get sent back to help out on the street, (but they won't, they will go to units) I would like to make two observations.
1. It will be a trade. When the new supe comes in he will re-fill those spots.
2. And I bet that anyone asked to fill the spots will go.

On 16 FEB 11, (that's 6 days before the election ) the Executive Ethics Commission of Illinois ruled that Erwin is to reimburse the state $4000 & never work for the state again.
This is for using office e-mail, phone & engaging in campaign fund raising while on the job for Obama. Erwin was on Obamas campaign committee.
The $4000 is the fine for using staff resources for a trip to the 2008 Democratic National Convention.

Or, if you went to a Catholic School and got a decent education you can do the same thing without Mozilla Firefox. As I recall spelling and grammar and composition proficiency were mandatory for entry into a decent high school.
We never had spell check or word processors. The word processor sat on your shoulders. The spell check was in the dictionary that always sat on your desk. That was a thick book that gave definitions, parts of speech and correct spelling. Still works too.
