A former city of Chicago health department employee convicted of running over a cabdriver with his own taxi has been released on parole after six years in prison.
Michael L. Jackson was sentenced to 15 years in prison in 2006 for the death of Haroon Paryani.
According to the Illinois Department of Corrections website, Jackson was released Friday from Logan Correctional Center.
Jackson was convicted of second-degree murder in Paryani's death. He was acquitted of first-degree murder and aggravated criminal hijacking.
He was accused of running over Paryani on Feb. 4, 2005, during a dispute over an $8 cab fare. Prosecutors and witnesses said Jackson drove the cab over Paryani three times.
Where's the justice in this?

on Zone 6 today, some officers got in a 75' foot chase. they gave a flash and before ya know it they gave a slow down and a "in custody". several of us showed up anyway just to make sure if they were alright or if they needed any assistance, you know - keeping a crowd back, watching a prisoner, helping in a search, etc. well the helicopter showed up and asked the officers in the brief foot chase if they needed anything from them, the officers responded - "no thanks and we're good" and you know what the helicopter said in response? QUOTE - on the air "IF YOU'RE ALL GOOD, THEN WHY ARE ALL THOSE OFFICERS LOOKING AROUND WITH THEIR FLASHLIGHTS?" unfuckingbelievable isnt it. what a stroke

Jackson was/is a friend of Alderman Tunney, got the appointment as gay liaison to the city/mayor's office through Tunney. Corp Counsel Mara Georges figured in there some way.
He got arrested again, after he was let out on bail, in DuPage County after spitting blood on a nurse and announcing he was HIV positive. That got his bail revoked and an agg bat charge. That didn't seem to get him any extra time.
Damn good thing I never got caught slapping a piss bum or I'd still be in federal prison.
Judge Roy Bean is no more. We can forgive anything in Cook County unless a policeman does it. Somehow we are the only group where the laws still apply. So many weak pussy judges who only get tough on cops.
Really makes onr sick and ashamed of being a cop here. Good police work to catch the guy and he is out in 6 years for killing a family's bread winner. I hope the family managed to file a wrongful death suit against the HIV scumbag meth head.

There is no way anybody can justify why this sentence was so short. The answer then must be that he had juice, and we know he did.
Every time this happens, and it happens a lot, it helps to tear the down our society. No wonder we have no respect for the judicial system.
If memory serves me right he was also charged with agg batt to a nurse who in a drunken rage while awaiting trial bit or spat blood at or something. AIDS, meth and alcohol is all that runs through his veins

I remeber that he also attacked a nurse at a hospital that he was taken to while he was in custody because of a bad case of jailitis. I think that he bit her if I remember right and that there was concern that he had AIDS. I may not remeber it right, but there was an incident something like this.
How about the POS David Melind who murdered a Trooper in '86 and only served 16 years and is now out and living in Franklin Park? The un-remorseful asswipe still brags about '''killing a pig''.

He flys the fucking helicopter. Of course he has no idea what the cops on the street are doing. Don't get so upset. His job is to fly around, your job is to arrest bad guys.
Just politely tell him thank you, but we don't need your help anymore and then go on about your business. Eventually, he'll fly away.
Membership has its previlages. This man was a good friend of the soon to be former mayor. Just ask him, he'll tell you. he ran the hearts foundation, which was a huge fundraiser for the aids cure and a big time money maker to shmooze and payoff the elite. This man should have been in prison for @ least 25yrs. He murdered the cabbie, fled the seen, eluded police, going to his well to do friend in dupage county, is placed in custody, taken to hospital, then he seriously batters and spits on his nurse. It was reported at the time, this pillar of society, had the aids virus, making his spit a lethal weapon. Alley this and hey gets 6years? Well come to Crook County, where money and power, both gay or straight, lets you get way with just about anything. What's unbelievable about it? I am sure the helo officer thought the ground officers were looking for something and the helo could help out either using the giant light or the infrared/night vision equipment they have. Geez...
I'd love to see if he was able to get a psychological exam, a FULL one, while in prison. These are clear indicators of a sociopathic personality of the most extreme. A person such as this WILL kill again. I pray he doesn't, but he does or attempts it, it is someone that will cause mass public outrage leading to the investigation of anyone involved in the case. Especially the board that made the decision to release him.

This is disgusting and what is more troubling is that the responsible citizens are not outraged and speaking up. In the end, it is the responsible citizens that suffer. Mr. Jackosn is a pal of the 44th Ward Alderman Tunney. Tunney was Jackson"s "Chinaman" when he finally got busted for killing the cab driver. This moron was involved in all kinds of criminal activity before he was finally sent to jail. He should be spending a lot more time in prison but this is the system we live under today.
