Bears Game

  • Jay Cutler was brought to Chicago billed as a once-in-a-generation talent.

The Bears gave up a king's ransom — their starting quarterback, two first-round draft picks and a third-rounder — to acquire Cutler from the Broncos in 2009. He was supposed to be everything Rex Grossman wasn't — big, strong, athletic and as accurate with the deep ball as anyone.

Along the way something hasn't clicked.

Cutler's starting record (18-16) is worse for the Bears than the man he replaced Kyle Orton (21-12) and the former first-round draft pick, Grossman (19-12), in a similar number of starts.
An offensive line with more holes than a donut shop and receivers with concrete hands, but the Bears are still favored by 6 to 7 points.

Carothers aint sh.....t, Jarmusz is a tool and everyone knows it, Waller is a great guy, Kupzcyk is the next A/1 deputy. Walsh does fine in the D: Duffin handles violent and Navvarete and Doud handle anything with property. SVU is done by strapling. 21 is a waste. The next comstat meeting willbe Carothers bloodshed.

When you stand there patting the ball and looking all over the field it doesn't matter how good your line is you are gonna get sacked. Scramble or get rid of the ball. This guy is not a winner, has no heart and is just not a good quarterback.

As long as fans want to be chumps for the Halas family then this is what you get. Stop buying tickets and stop going to the games. Miss tailgating? Park the car behind the garage and watch the game on tv with your neighbors and friends. Of course the depressed economy may make that happen all by its self.

Don't blame Cutler. The Bears line just sucks. In fact most of the team's no better than some of those college teams out there. The team needs a real owner who will spend the money to get a real team.

Note to Jerry Angelo:
I know it's a novel thought but maybe you could get some NFL caliber safeties and cornerbacks on your team.
The current secondary wouldn't start on a good college team. It's a glaring weakness.

I agree with 12:33. Cutler is a LOSER. Send him back to Denver and push him off PikesPeak!

The Bears do not have an OFFENSIVE LINE period. In the past the Bears always had a decent offensive line no matter what(Check Walter Payton's stats). I believe that Cutler would be among the league leaders if he had some time to throw the ball. There is not one good lineman on that line!!!

They still suck. At the end of the season, they'll be 7-9 and be happy it was not worse. The Lions are going to have them for dinner and even the Vikings will have them roasting on a spit over an open fire.

The last franchise star QB the Bears had was Sid Luckman, 1939-1950. 14,686 yards passing. About what Rodgers has done in 3+ years.

The Bears simply cannot develop and hold on to a good QB.

As far as ability goes, Cutler has the talent in him. He just doesn't have enough talent, especially receiving talent, around him.

Spending money on free agents may not be the answer. Most of the the teams that have consistent long term success, build through the draft.
