Detroit Looking to Sweep

  • The Chicago Bears haven't lost since a Monday night last month against the Detroit Lions. Improved play from the offensive line has keyed the turnaround, and now that unit gets another big test from the Lions.

Detroit will look to knock around Jay Cutler and slow down Matt Forte on Sunday while pulling off a season sweep of the Bears, winners of three straight.

The Bears are actually favored by about 2.5 points.

Last weeks solid win against the Eagles restored my faith in the Bears.

The last Detroit game was a low point in the season. Both teams seem to have changed their direction since then, Bears rising, Lions declining.

The Lions play the Cam Newton Panthers next week and still have 2 losses to Green Bay ahead of them plus the NO Saints, an improved Oakland team and the Chargers and Vikings. Though they've improved greatly this season, I don't see them finishing higher than the Bears who legitimately could/should win 6 of their final 7 games (losing to the Packers on Christmas night, of course).

Tough game.

O-line continues to improve, but can't avoid at least 1 QB sack on Cutler.

Lions won't break any HUGE runs with their starting running back, Jahvid Best, OUT of the game, but their passing game will score a couple times.

Bears 31, Lions 27.

Bears 27 Lions 17. Detroit doesn't have running back Jahvid Best in the lineup...advantage Bears. Bears playing at home... advantage Bears. Bears have won last 4 games, Detroit has sputtered after loss to SanFran...advantage Bears.

I hope I'm wrong but I've got the feeling this will be a classic letdown game. The Bears have done enough in the last 3 games to give us fans some reasons for hope. I fear they're gonna remind us in this game of why a lot of fans want Lovie and Angelo to go.

Oh, and Stafford is a pussy bitch. What a baby.....

"Boo-hoo! The mean Bears intercepted my ball, so I'm gonna throw one of them down by their helmet like the cheap-play loser I am! Waaaaaa!!!"

He shoulda been ejected for that kindergarten bullshit.

Keep being distracted by sports while your pension is fading away.

SCC, this site should focus primarily on our pension issues for the time being. Just like the union should drop the planning of golf outings.

You have an opportunity to make some difference. If I were you, I would follow the pension legislation like a hawk, then your popular site to motivate the membership to become more involved.

Not throwing stones, just sincerely hoping that you would do more.

True, true.

But as so many times when it comes to scuffling on the field: The refs don't catch the action, they catch the reaction. But the NFL office will review the tape and there will be a FedEx envelope with a "Please enclose check in the following amount" message in his Lion mailbox.

Why was Stafford playing with gloves on when the on-field game temperature was 70?? Especially when the gloves affected his grip and probably led to the 2 pick-6's.

Not surprised Stafford had trouble: the Bears defense has so many looks and feints that are hard for a QB of limited playing time to grasp. Stafford missing the most of the last 2 seasons had to hurt.

Offense didn't have to do much just not screw up. The d and special teams put a hurtin on the lions. Hester is an outstanding kick returner but you have to give it up for the punt return team they blocked their asses off

What is it with commentators hating the Bears? Did anyone else noticed it last night? Billick went on and on about Suh and how he gets a bad rap for being a tough aggressive defensive tackle. Even after he ripped Cutler's helmet off his head. But when Briggs laid out that receiver with a perfectly legal, shoulder to chest hit, now Billick is all upset and saying how the refs need to get control of this game. Well which is it MeatHead.

the lions have been over rated all year but the bears still played a good game, especially the "d"--- the blackhawks put a hurtin on a good edmonton squad last night at the uc--- the hawks are going on the road with seabrook and bolland nicked up--- leddy has been stepping up his game and montador looks like a good fit--- the hawks will be playing vancouver again and have to send them a message after they embarassed the hawks on their home ice--- it was the worst game of the season for the hawks....

He was wearing gloves to protect his hand injury. I'm not taking up for Stafford..I'm a Bears fan hands down but idiots are annoying.

Hester is the man. He didn't even put his jets on when he did the return. He pretty coasted down the field...and did it with an ankle injury.

What tips? The latest line is from a Vegas site. The article part is from ESPN. We just said that Detroit was looking to sweep (which they were), but the Bears had won 3 straight.

How is that a "tip?"
