FOP Sues ACLU

Well, not really, but we liked the way the headline looked. We'd pay to see that actually happen. In the meantime:
  • The Fraternal Order of Police filed a legal motion Thursday with the ultimate goal of dismissing an ACLU lawsuit that accused the city of Chicago of depriving some inner-city neighborhoods of adequate police protection.

If a judge grants the union’s motion to intervene, the FOP plans to initially ask that the law firm of Sidley Austin LLP be disqualified from assisting the American Civil Liberties Union of Illinois and, ultimately, that the case be dismissed.

“It’s horrible public policy if a single chancery judge is allowed to determine how the police department operates in the field and how they’re made up,” FOP lawyer Paul Geiger said. “That’s madness. It would be unlike any other big city in the United States.”
If Shortshanks or his predecessors had actually redrawn the beats and districts semi-regularly according to crime trends and population shifts, we wouldn't be having the discussion today.

But the truly amazing part of this lawsuit is that the ACLU has it all wrong. Where was SOS deployed? Mobile Strike Force operated where? Targeted Response? The "Jump Out" boys? Housing? Every large citywide unit, regardless of crime patterns, spent the majority of its time in the communities the ACLU insists are under-served.

Want to know the direction your FOP leans? Well it's nice that they have a new website but take a look at the company that designed and manages it, Watch Street consulting.

http://www.watchstreetconsulting.com/political-campaign-websites/

Now one would say who cares what company as long as the product is good right?

Well by giving this company you are connected and do support and agree in some way with their views.

Short list of the portfolio of this company:
Young Democrats of America
Harry Osterman
Proco Joe Moreno
Maria Antonia Berrios
Robyn Gabel
Elaine Nekritz
Matt Bogusz
Winograd
Bernard C Parks
Judge Ursula Hall
Edwin Reyes
Ramos for Judge of Cook County
Dr. Kamal Field Al-Basri
Clint Krislov
1st Ward Jesse Ruben Juarez

And my favorite.....Sharon "I get my drink on and disobey police orders" Dixon

A few have no dealings with us since they are out of state but learn about theses names. Some have pussed pension reforms. Some will slash your salaries and raise your taxes. And again, some will think they are higher then you disobey your police orders and get away with it.

Thank you again FOP for your CHANGE from the way the past administration ran.

ABSOLUTELY! It's like the ACLU was viewing conditions in the ghetto through Bizarro glasses. There were/are far more officers in these ghetto districts than the nice ones. The discrepancy between these districts are the CITIZENS that call the police. Guys who have worked in both slow and fast districts will tell you.........yuppies hesitate to call the police with REAL emergencies and then apologize profusely when the cars show up. Ghetto dwellers don't hesitate to call the PO-LEECE for EVERYTHING! Christ! I just went to a call last week in the ghetto where eight-month pregnant momma called because the 4 and 6 year olds were running around the house "drivin me crazy!" THAT'S why we're always in a RAP! Ugh.

No, all you ghetto lifestyle-enabling assholes, (that'd be you, ACLU and Co.) there aren't less poleeseses in your 'hoods, just a lot less police doing any type of proactive policing.

You see, your crop has flourished in the environment that you created and now it's time to reap what you've sown. The majority of the men and women on the front lines have gotten the message loud and clear and don't mind leaving the savages to their own devices, sans for protecting our own and what's left of the people who actually deserve what we have to offer.

Until the pendulum swings back our way, most of us don't mind being reactionary, arriving after the fact to pick up the pieces and feign interest/compassion while cutting you a report; enjoy believing that the worthless piece of paper I just handed you somehow makes you the victor in today's concocted, unneccessary and totally avoidable 'drama'. Now fold it into quarters and put it into your jacket pocket with the six other reports "the police ain't done nuffin about".

The REAL citizens of this city - you know, the ones paying their taxes, working a "pay check paying' job" and raising children that will actually be productive members of society - are starting to see what the police have known all along.

And they're starting to get more and more vocal as they get more and more pissed. THEY are the ones NOT getting adequate police services, never mind other city services commensurate to what they contribute via taxes to the Black Hole called the City of Chicago. Reference the folks in 016 sounding off their concerns over the uptick in burglaries ever since a certain segment of society began arriving once the projects folded. They're also demanding to know where all "their" police are, only they're justified in making this inquiry.

The police are vilified while the entitled scum of the Earth is pacified and given more credence and legitimacy than ever before thanks to the likes of the ACLU. The police will survive - it's what we do best. Self-preservation is the name of the game until this ride comes full-circle. Until that time, the unappreciative, police-hating non-contributors can get the police service they deserve while the ACLU blows me.

O.T. A fly on the wall at 35th told me that the bosses are afraid that we won't have enough Tier 1 officers on the front lines to handle the G8/NATO protests. Starting early next year they're creating a 200 P.O. force, and the old MSF'ers will be offered the chance to be brought back. They figure they already have the training and equipment. After the city burns, the unit will remain to work as summer saturation teams (West and South). They're looking at housing the teams out of the current Area 4 after it's cleared out.

Hey, Office
I'm gonna take a stab at this but based on what you posted and the fact that you're assigned to 004, I'm guessing you're referring to the "security firm" based in a suburb that was hired by our illustrious Aldercreature Anthony "Looking For A Larger Payday and Hate The Police" Beale. He allows these clowns to do essentially whatever they want. They are supposed to patrol only certain segments of the 005th District around strip malls, Michigan Avenue and other places Beale designates. What do you want to bet that there is already a contract in place for them to work the new "shopping center" that is being built in the 9th Ward across from Area 2? These guys don't have the powers of arrest, so how do they effectively deal with the bustouts who are Beale's "constituents"? That entire contingent are dumbasses and it ain't gonna get any better. They are all wanna be coppers who work for one of the more greedy, corrupt and integrity challenged individuals who was ever elected to public office in this city.

Mayor Rahm Emanuel knew he was stepping into the lion’s den when he accepted Sr. Rosemary Connelly’s invitation to speak at the annual fund-raising breakfast for Misericordia — right after cutting off free water for Chicago’s non-profits.

The Rev. Jack Clair opened the breakfast for the North Side home for 600 children and adults with disabilities by saying, “Thank you, God, for the gift of water.” He paused. “Oh, it’s not a gift anymore.”

Immediately after Emanuel proposed plugging a city budget hole by ending the practice of not charging non-profits such as Misericordia for water, aldermen asked how he would deal with Connelly, whose ability to put the arm on people for donations rivals Emanuel’s. Emanuel has always admitted being afraid of her.

“Every time I met Rahm in public, he told me he was afraid of me,” Connelly said.

“The last time I met him, right before the inauguration, he said, and I quote — please remember the bad word used is his not mine — ‘You scare me s-*-*-*-l-e-s-s,’” Connelly said, spelling out the last word of the quote.

The audience roared with laughter.

“To show you how courageous this man is, despite his fear, he is going to charge Mirsericordia for water, which will add to our projected $13 million debt,” she said to more laughter. “We are one of the top users of water in Chicago. You see, we are very clean. The 610 children and adults along with staff who live here, use much water, especially those who are non-ambulatory and can do nothing for themselves. Sometimes we have to bathe them several times a day.”

Looking at the mayor, she said, “Now, that should make an impression.”

Misericordia’s annual water bill is $350,000. Thursday’s fund-raiser brought in $100,000, which should cover the bill under Emanuel’s five-year phase-in which requires non-profits to pay 20 percent of the tab in the first year.

As the mayor took the podium, she gave him a kiss and said, “God bless you, Rahm.”

Emanuel shook his head and said, “Prior to this event, I thought Jewish mothers had a corner on the market as it relates to guilt.”

Emanuel said his legendary prowess at getting people to cough up money pales in comparison to Connelly’s power.

“I do want to say where my fear of Sr. Rosemary comes from,” Emanuel said. Back when he was a congressman, he offered to get Sr. Rosemary a $500,000 congressional earmark for Misericordia.

“Sr. Rosemary indicated to me that was not adequate, which is why it ended up being north of $500,000,” Emanuel said.

It got to the point that when Connelly called, Emanuel would tell a staffer, “Just ask her for a number and a range. When it comes to fund-raising, I know when my pocket’s picked. Somebody else handle it. The person who taught me, ‘No, that’s not good enough,’ is Sr. Rosemary. So for all of you in the room that think I’m a hard fund-raiser, where I learned that lesson, right over here,” he said, pointing to Connelly.

Of course, Emanuel already had earned his reputation as a take-no-prisoners fund-raiser in the Daley and Clinton administrations, long before his years as a congressman.

Connelly explained how nuns learn to put fear into people.

“Teaching, you had 50 students in your classroom,” she said. “You had two types of students: those you knew would be good and just people because you have a part in convincing them that God loves them. … But there were always a few you were not convinced. … If you didn’t want them to end up serving time, the fear of God was the only motivation. For them, the nuns were the messenger who represented God — who had the power to send them to hell.”

That brought more laughter from the donors, just about all of whom except Emanuel raised their hands when asked if they had been taught by nuns.

GOTTA LOVE THOSE NUNS THEY BEAT THE SHIT OUT OF ME AND MADE ME A BETTER COPPER, CAUSE I KNOW WHAT A REAL BEATING IS VERSE A PIMP SLAP !!!

The case will be heard in the Circuit Court of CROOK County, i.e. the fix is already in. When the decent tax paying citizens start complaining Tiny Dancer will say it was a court order and there is nothing he can do about it.

I applaud F.O.P.'s willingness to stand up for us and the decent taxpaying citizens, but you are fighting a battle that has already been decided.

Blogger Exclusive. Taxpayers on hook for Rahm's family to attend Hip Hop Concert!
It was 1-Dec-11 and two CPD cops took extra precautions tonight at their mediocre paying security side job at the U.C. The usual violent hip hop concert was back in town. As this Jay-Z kanye concert turned out to be relatively calm compared to past concerts, the disturbing incident actually included Mayor Rahm Emanuel. Mayor Emaunuel has preached fiscal sacrifice to other public officials in reguards to bloated Security details. But the sacrifice does not include him or his own family. Sitting on stage left three rows up was Mayor Emanuel's middle age son surrounded by a Presidential like Security detail of ivory in a sea of chocolate. Thats right, the taxpayer was paying so little Rahm could attend his first Hip Hop Concert. The usual Security at the U.C was told to keep an eye on that section as so the big time VIP in attendence was kept protected. Was it not Rahm Emanuel who preached to Former Mayor Daley and Ed Burke about this very topic. Well my friends who work at the U.C were told by their superiors to keep this hush-hush. So we will keep this one too ourselves!

The department will fight all claims that you make.

Sidley and Austin is a BIG TIME corporate law firm. One of their clients was the Arthur Andersen accounting firm, the notorious Enron accountants. Also AA did allot of no-bid work for the City. S&A defends blue chip firms like Microsoft, British Petrollium, General Electric, etc.

They have many former top level former govt workers on staff. There had former Bush White House attys on staff. Former US Atty Scott Lazar, of Austin 7 fame, was there. Also S&A's members ranked #2 behind those of Goldman Sachs for dollars donated to Obama '08.

Their former Exe Managing Parter R. Eden Martin is now heading up the Civic Foundation, the group that is trying to kill OUR pensions.

Hate to sound paranoid, but sounds like there are powerful forces aiming at us....

Equal police protection by size of population, not calls for service. The ACLU needs to spend money on community programs to help stop the violence. The community that needs more police service needs to take ownership of there bad behavior and fix the problem. Remember it takes a village not a police department.

Look at who the judge is and see what you can find out about the judge.

SCC -

Here is the real deal about last night.

NAGIS Party at the Hyatt and G-Mac shows up, not sure if it was announced or not, but he comes there.

During the course of the evening G_mac gets into a discussion with a 189 guy. The discussion elevates to a loud argument and then it escalates into physical assault grounds when G-Mac tells the 189 guy to come out with him.

Out the set of doors and in front of many, my self included, G-Mac (who has now taken off his jacket) starts the confrontation and screams at the 189 guy to "say it to my face".

The two were separated by some of the more mature drinkers and party goers who were present.

It appears that the argument/physical confrontation started with G-Mac's masculinity being challenged by a rugby player, who is tougher than a football player.

No crap, these two morons were as close as you can be to going to blows, about who was tougher. Grade school stupid stuff. Yet, we have this New York moron here, the "leader" of 10,000, who wants to challenge a lowly guy from 189.

It is So damn funny, but yet, it is SO damn sad. I heard that they had all the NAGIS bosses in 189 today and that they were addressing the 189 guy.

No word on if anyone was addressing the real idiot in all of this, G-Mac.

Nice choice Rahm.

School Closings

So we won't close these schools until after the clouted speed trap camera outfit installs and bills the city for the installation of said cameras to "protect the children" -- that will no longer be going there?

Right?

I think it would be a lot cheaper and it would enable the city to save money if we just closed all the schools.

No schools -- no speed trap camera's needed either! Look at all that money saved. Savings is good!

Savings all around.

Save on the buildings, save on the teachers, save on kids getting hit by cars and oh yeah shot at and hospitalized and maybe killed.

There would by no more 911 calls because lil' joey doesn't want to go to school today. No need for P.U's to patrol the halls. See that..Savings all over and we can use that savings to expand the alderman's security detail and drivers.

It's a win-win.

All that testing and measuring being done and for what? There are no jobs to be had to apply any of that knowledge. China and India or some third world country will work for less. So lets just stop the madness. The building of false hopes and dreams that hard work will pay off in the end. No it won't stop the lies. It's who you know not what you know.

Close all the schools and stop wasting money. 22.5 people apply for each job that is allegedly open today. The so-called best and brightest have failed us. We are unwilling or unable to employ the educated people that we have now.

All we're doing is suckering people into college loans that place the students in a state of indentured servitude working with a masters degree at the WalMart-like shovel-ready job for the next 40 years trying to pay off a government school loan. It's indentured servitude

They want to allocate our resources based on the calls for service. It's a complete bs argument. If these ghetto neighborhoods would be forced to get jobs instead of considering their welfare check income then they wouldn't have time to call the police a hundred times a day. They would be at work. But work is the dirtiest 4 letter word in their vocabulary. When you sit at home and drink malt liquor all day long eventually you get bored and want to see the policecar go by. I can't count how many times i've been told by these muts to, "do yo job!" when they've never had and will never have a legitmate job in their lifetime. Not because they can't get one regardless of what the bleeding democrats might say but because they know the government will support their savage lifestyle if they don't have one.

Mayor Bloomberg was bragging about having the seventh largest army in the world the other day -- meaning his police force, .

It's like we have little mayoral dictators now with private armies now.

Maybe we should stop calling states the states and call them tribal communities with warlords leading the show ya know?

Combine that with a bill passing the US Senate with 60 yea votes that if signed will enable the US Military to detain anyone indefinitely without charges and without a trial -- I think we're in BIG trouble!

So who's side are you gonna choose?

Protect the US constitution and our freedoms or some mayoral dictator using the guise of their bogus city ordinance code violations as a farce to protect the citizens health and safety?

This John McCain authored bill gets to become law they can charge any of us as being a terrorist, don't have to show you any evidence, lock you up, no trial, no charges, all it needs to be is suspicion and you're never seen or heard from again!

Washington must be totally freaked out about losing their power I guess. Why else would 60 US senators vote for this thing?

Think about it.

You may have to make a decision to turn your weapons on your own citizens soon as the power hungry clout becomes more insecure over losing their money.. They're freaking out.

I sure hope the old Msf and Tru tell the city to go to hell. Do not go back to the unit after they shit on you the way they did. Let the city burn before I would allow the city to shit on me twice. Now one would say who cares what company as long as the product is good right?

Well by giving this company you are connected and do support and agree in some way with their views.

Short list of the portfolio of this company:
Young Democrats of America
Harry Osterman
Proco Joe Moreno
Maria Antonia Berrios
Robyn Gabel
Elaine Nekritz
Matt Bogusz
Winograd
Bernard C Parks
Judge Ursula Hall
Edwin Reyes
Ramos for Judge of Cook County
Dr. Kamal Field Al-Basri
Clint Krislov
1st Ward Jesse Ruben Juarez

And my favorite.....Sharon "I get my drink on and disobey police orders" Dixon

A few have no dealings with us since they are out of state but learn about theses names. Some have pussed pension reforms. Some will slash your salaries and raise your taxes. And again, some will think they are higher then you disobey your police orders and get away with it.

Thank you again FOP for your CHANGE from the way the past administration ran.

Why do you keep asking? Look in the new contract, it's in black and fucking white. You even know the appendix for god's sake.

As a po, not a fan of our mayor but all kids are off limits. His kids didn't choose to be in the public eye so I say leave them alone. I have to be honest, if I were a politician, I would have security with my kid at a concert too. Have actually met his kids a few times while working in plain clothes and they are very nice kids and polite.

Nice try hiding behind the kids but the point with 9.5 is always the $$$$$

I thought their message was to treat everyone the same. Nobody likes it when they realize the knife cuts both ways.

Kids are not off limits if it cost the taxpayers $, you are incorrect. If you are a concerned parent take him to the concert yourself, then there would be no question about security and tax payer dollars. Otherwise deal with the wrath.

So they file a lawsuit against ACLU but what are they doing to put pressure on the city for the recent death of Hester Scott(RIP)?
She was under house arrest at call back for 4 years without a disposition in her bs case with the animal who killed her. Those are the types of fights the FOP should be starting!
One term prez Mr Shields!

Publicity stunt by boy wonder. Fop has no business wasting our money on this. Let the city fight it.

Wrong. He is doing the right thing. He had to take a stand.

No one EVER invited B.R. to ANYWHERE to ANYTHING. No one ever wanted him anywhere. You my friend should be better informed.
