City Sues....the City?

  • The city today sued the operator of Park Grill restaurant at Millennium Park, asking a judge to end a generous 2003 concession agreement with the Chicago Park District.

The city wants the Park Grill operator, which is trying to sell the restaurant, to pay more for the privilege of operating at the park, a city spokesman said. In addition to the operator, the city-controlled Park District also is named as a defendant in the complaint.

“Since 2005, the city has attempted to renegotiate the concession agreement and put in place a competitive and fair-market rate concession agreement,” Steve Patton, the city’s top attorney, said in a statement. “The negotiations to date have been unsuccessful.”

A sweetheart deal, granted to a connected political crony, and the crony is attempting to cash out additional monies by selling the ill-gotten asset, probably because in this economy, it isn't doing as well as it was.

We're sure we'll be finding out about these Daley disasters for the next 10 or 20 years.

Too bad the City can't undo the parking meter debacle/disaster.

Maybe they could if they could prove it was done under fraudulent terms....which if Richie Daley was involved it probably was.

OT: CHICAGO (CBS) — The City of Chicago says it's ready for the worst when it comes to winter weather.

As WBBM Newsradio's Lisa Fielding reports, city officials gathered Wednesday at the Office of Emergency Management and Communications to reassure the public that its departments are ready for what could be an extremely rough winter.

With more disaters to come in the future from the next generation.

Crap like this is what the daley family will have as its legacy in the city's History. Soon generation 3 will begin its attempt at continuing the rape of the taxpayers .

For years the name associated with crime in Chicago was Capone. That has changed!

The daley name has been moved up to the # 1 name in Shitcago Crime.

Technically, the city parking wasn't sold. It was leased to a JPMorgan/Chase (Bill Daley) & Abu Dubai partnership.

Although, given a Lease of 75 yrs., the public asset was essentially sold.

I got to thinking; if it's technically a Lease, does the Partnership pay the Chicago Lease Tax that we lowly citizens of Chicago must pay when leasing stuff???

Nooooo. That would be just silly, silly, silly!

I made it my business to go to my Alderman's office (18th) to complain about the whole scam of leasing the parking meters far below it's fair market value, given the revenue source it provides for the connected partnership and to confirm that the connected Partnership isn't required to pay the Lease Tax.

Sitting in front of the Alderman's office, I listened to an underling admit there is no Lease Tax on the 75 year Parking Meter Lease. He also told me the city is looking at what legal options they have to recind the dea,l but a big problem is they don't have the Billion dollars to give back.

I laughed and said, "You guys can do anything." as I mimicked Daley saying "Weee cannn do annnything (we want)." while he gave that Ape gesture while standing before the city council (came across a video of him doing it either here or on youtube).

Keep chasing the mothers on WIC and who get 200 a month in LINK and their kids get nasty breakfast for free in the morning. The Daleys have made millions, almost everyone in their family has or had a six figure city gig with pension. Bill Daley cashed a 20 million dollar check from Chase. Brother John is a insurance scammer. But hey none of that is illegal. Just unethical and the rest of us are lazy because we did not work hard enough.

It's like something on Star Trek. The present is suing the past, like Picard fighting with Kirk. Except that makes Daley Kirk, and we all know he's some stupid mucus-covered alien, nowhere near as articulate as Kirk. Emanuel could be Picard though. Sorry this is totally geek-city, but hey.

Sorry Bill, but you are an idiot not fit to breathe. Picard not only shouldn't be compared to Raccoon Eyes, but he would never fight Kirk. Only assist him as he did in the Star trek film "Generations". Unfortunately this was also the final movie for William Shatner as Kirk died in the film. (Too late for a spoiler alert?)

If you must do a Star Trek comparison, I think you are looking for the "Mirror" episode where a transporter accident sent the landing party to an alternate universe where the Federation was bad.

Please check your facts before posting on a blog like this. Accuracy is important. We wouldn't want any inaccuracies, would we?

Emanuel Says He'll Testify If Called Before Congress On Solyndra

“Listen, if I’m called I’ll testify,” Emanuel said during an unrelated news conference. When asked in September what his role was in that decision Emanuel said he couldn’t remember.

Earlier this week, Rep. Joe Barton (R-Texas), a senior member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, predicted Emanuel will “probably have to come in,” according to published news reports.

Say it isn't so ... they had a great $21 bacon cheeseburger.

American Kobe Burger, balsamic onions, grain mustard, pretzel bun $17
gorgonzola cheese $2
cured bacon $2

So I'm told.

Never had one. Never will.

Here in Cook County, you point a gun at someone (who happened to be a cop) you get charged with Misdemeanor Assault and weapons charges. Now, I've heard that this weapon was or may have been a bb gun but...the person/officer thought it was a real gun. This place is a joke.

_____________________________________________________

Officer not on duty, in plain clothes, didn't announce his office, and had no identifiers. Instead he' s working a bar security gig. He's a civilian plain and simple according to the statute. Should have minded his own business and left shitheads to be shitheads and collected his cash. Guy never works while he's on duty except to pose for pics and now he wants to play poleeces off duty.

People need to take off the blinders. Agg Asslt is the proper charge. Plain and simple. A gun was displayed not used or fired. Cop involved is a civilian not a cop at the point of the assault. Know the law and the elements you need for a charge. That's half the problem on this job. People write half assed reports and wonder why they can't get charges.

Read in John Kass column (The only decent reporter) Looks like Zalewski the alderamn in demanding the aviation commissioner Andolino come to the full city counsel this Tuesday and explain how all the juicy concessions contracts are given out? Why does 1 Black man for example have 13 concessions as a "disadvantaged businessman who is worth 50 MILLION dollars? Who did he payoff? Are the feds finally involved? This should be fun to watch!

Not fit to breathe? That's a bit harsh. I see the Mirror/Mirror thing as a better comparison, except there is no parallel universe Chicago where aldermen are honest, cops are valued for the service, taxpayers aren't reamed annually. We have only the present and the past. So how about Rahm as that female captain on Voyager? She had a dancer's look.

Rahm as Janeway? Nope! She was a real leader who cared about her crew. Harry Mudd, that's it. Unscrupulous, devious and couldn't help being what he was: a thief and the subject of scorn and contempt.
