For anyone who is interested, I found the following on Chick Fila Water Tower's facebook page written Yesterday at 9:07am

In honor of Chicago Police Officer Clifton Lewis, who was fatally wounded in Chicago last week, we will be accepting donations all day tomorrow to support his family. In addition, we will donate $1 for every Foursquare check-in, and a percentage of tomorrow's daily sales.

It was a great showing. SO nice to see Pat Quinn, Rham Emanuel and Anita Alvarez there. It was also a very classy move by Debra Kirby to give a quick 5 second prayer at the casket - she knows what it is like to walk the line that the working police do, day in and day out.

God Bless our fallen brother....

Rest in peace Office. The only thing McGoofy said since he got here that I respect is that we'll get the guys that did this. I share his drive to avenge this murder-but that's it. Cliff, you did what we all do and you stepped up when someone needed you. Your courage is inspirational. We just had another sad day in the history of the CPD and it all revolves around mourning this hero. Be safe brothers and sisters, watch the hands and back each other up always.

Officer Lewis- you have left such an honorable legacy. Now, even those who weren't personally touched by you, have been by hearing who you were. I've thought about you every day since your life was taken, and am so saddened. I think about your family, your fiance and her son, your child, your CPD colleagues, your team members- everyone who knew you and loved you. May God rest your soul, may your beautiful life be cherished and never forgotten, and may your loved ones always be in our thoughts and our prayers.

It's always sad to see one of us go. It is proof and testimony of the dangers of our job, It can happen to anyone at anytime. We all live alike, we love our family, and have pride in ourselfs and our work. We see the evils of humanity and of our society. On sad days like this I feel empty as if I lost someone so close to me, yet I might not even know you. It does not matter what race, religion or background you are, all I see is blue. God Bless everyone stay true and watch yourselfs.

Who are we to quibble with God when he says he needs another soldier in his Heavenly Army?

Go ahead Cliff... The big guys are the better guidon bearers!

Meanwhile... Those of us who make up God's Army here in the land of the living will soldier on best we can.

We'll take the flag from Cliff and not let it touch the ground.

We have a great and powerful quarrel against our foes who beset us from within and without.

We bow our heads to none other than The Almighty himself... Men who fancy themselves masters of other men gnash their teeth in anger at our resilience.

Yes... We're living the mean and hateful season... There are those who pretend to share our cares and concerns yet they plot a path full of stumbling blocks, trip-falls and snares because they don't really know us nor do they care to know us...

The empowered hypocrites cry the false tears of whores for the bright TV lights yet they secretly rejoice in our sorrow and pain.

Heh... Their expertly rehearsed scheming and plotting cannot come to fruition and will become undone because the Almighty despises lies, liars and the Prince of all lies who was cast out and fell to earth not unlike a comet.

Lies and liars will surely not prosper against The Silitoe Tartan of those in God's Army!

Stay Strong and Endure, Blue Suits!

God Bless our Brother!

God Bless The Policeman!

God give us strength in HIS NAME so we can fight for those who can't fight for themselves and stand firm against those who seek to overpower us...

Matthew 5:9

"Blessed are The Peacemakers for they shall be called The Sons of God..."

Petition The ALMIGHTY on our poor and meager behalf Brother Cliff!

Thank you to the CPD chaplains for being there today. There were about 10 other "ministers" at the pulpit, but where were they a week ago at the emergency room and at the morgue? The CPD chaplains WERE there then, were with family in the meantime (along with Sgt Cooper and her crew), and were there today...ironically, off to the side (maybe at their request). THEY, who have been with the family from the breaking of the bad news to the Clif's family last week, should have had front and center today--though maybe they wouldn't have wanted that. Fr. Brant did a great job calling the crowds to attn (he was the one who made some sense...why the politicians, later?) as we began the funeral this morning. He and his crew were the ones at roll calls this past week, consoling us. Good work, chaplains.
